    I do turnip roots, with carrots, sauted in oilive oil, fresh garlic, and onion, season with black pepper, Himalayan pink salt and a special season. And i cant stop eating it. Root veggies are the best for gut. I also make bean soups all the time, and add fresh veggies. My gut got destroyed from 9 weeks of antiobotics. I just bought some leeks, will try this dish.

    Oh my gosh! I got bloated just watching this! I can deal with either the beans, sweet potato, or whole grains. All of them in one dish? I’m jealous of the people whose digestion can handle that.

    This was a much required video, & a much appreciated one, thank you.
    PS. I always like something green with my meals so I would also add steamed, shredded cabbage on the side - seasoned with lemon & thyme flavoured sea salt !

    cumin & smoky paprika would be nice in this dish. Are they good for digestion?

    • @Rr17user

      They certainly are. Adding ginger to this would also have been good for easier digestion.

      they also didn't mention draining the canned bean. I'm making it right now, and I'm cooking my dried lentils 1st after soaking in water 4 hrs for easier digesting and draining the cannellinis bc I had no dried...adding ginger too TY

    Just like vitamin C in Fruits, garlic when cooked looses it's medicinal properties, I heard the garlic is best eaten lightly cooked or raw like in salad dressings or dips, sauces

    For people like me that can't have barley because it has gluten, a good GF alternative is buckwheat or kasha and quinoa or millet can substitute couscous 🙂 even wild rice which is actually a grass not a grain but is usually seen in rice blends

    Nice recipe. Although wholemeal carb versions are now known for only having one third less sugars than white versions, so whilst better they are not good for diabetics or pre-diabetics.

    Hi thank you for this video. Loved the introduction to prebiotics in a recipe video. I wonder though, aren't coconut based products best avoided? Owing to their high saturated fat content....

    • @curtisrobinson7962
      @curtisrobinson7962 2 роки тому

      I'm still trying to wrap my head around the saturated fat thing.
      Saturated fats found in animal products: lamb, beef, dark meat chicken and chicken skin. And then along comes the coconut high in saturated fat. Porque?

      just put a little if it is a concern

      I react to Coconut oil/fat n to much sat meat fat. According to my sister who is a walking FODMAP guide, that Coconut cream/fat is about medium and some people react to it. Anyway as a result, all of my meals have to be on the low saturated fat side of things. I find I do get away with a small amount of Coconut milk (low fat n half the size of what they put in).

    Like 25% of people have non alcoholic fatty liver disease. I challenge you to invent some liver cleanse recipes! (basically lots of cruciferous veggies and stuff like tumeric, etc. you know the deal =D). I've recently had to completely adjust my diet to try and cleanse my liver, cutting out all sugar, invent new recipes. its tough man!
