J-hope's rap, flow, everything carried the whole song. I'd be lying if I said I expected some choreo from the dance king but his walk on beat and flowing with his rap carried. He outdid himself and the whole album is a banger. We're all proud of him for working hard on it. Congrats J-hope!

Thank you for appreciating j-hope has a writer! Honestly there's a disappointing number of army that don't read all the lyrics and are fooled by j-hope's easy-going nature and style. I feel this is a part of the reason why he felt he needed to take on a darker, more serious image even though he has written about darker themes in the past albeit under a more upbeat mask.
People really be thinking like people are one-dimensional.... Like seriously???? And you're right some of them don't dive deeper into lyrics on which BTS put their soul.... So it's really disappointing...
nice reaction! I interpret arson as a metaphor for his drive /ambition. He explained in the first part how he with bts were eager to go as far as they could. How their perseverance and dedication to their craft was the fuel that started the fire that took over the world. In the second part he tells how their hunger got them so much more than they ever expected to get. And how scary the heights they rose to was for them. This song is a turning point for him where he says: We have reached everything that we could and now is the time to stop and think about what to do next: do i put out the fire or burn even brighter?. They put their work as a group on hold to explore new things individually and figure out what they want in life.

I love this song! The vibe of the video is creating a nice storyline. The special effects are dope! I love Hope's cadence and very subtle choreography(the staggering walk). It all just fits.

Thanks for addressing what most prob commented - i feel like sometimes you do not see him, his lyricism and versatility as clearly. I often hear him being compared to rm and suga by the others. Like “this sounds like” or “this is more like” coz he is unique with his own flow and beat, his own artistry. His lyricism - he uses a lot of pop culture references, literature and word plays. Regarding Jack In the Box he arranged the songs like that as he is telling a story so listen to the album in order. His album is top tier. This is his raw and vulnerable side. He did not go for mainstream or pop songs since what for? He already got it all. What is important for him now is his artistry and the freedom to let go and unleash his talent. He is the most that has a lot to offer as the most all rounder. Lollapalooza will be insane!

I agree that he's at a point in his career to do what he wants, express himself as he chooses, and not rely on mainstream rather focus on artistry and personal growth. This mv is amazing, but the lyrics are the cherry on top.... incredible. I'm so proud of him! This song def has that 90's hip hop, boom bop vibe, which I personally love. This is myfav track, followed by What If, then More as top 3. The whole album is top quality imo. Hobi is a talented individual, the fact that he didn't come into the industry as a rapper and now has proven himself as such is seriously so worthy of respect and admiration. I love listening to this in my car, the bass is amazing.... and as Lo said, it's perfect for the gym. Curt, I always appreciate your insight. Nick, I really really appreciate you bringing up the streaming. If you guys need a playlist, let me know. Please buy and stream, Hobi deserves it all. The Beat! Beast! BEST! I've been saying that all over the internet and I don't care. The beat is SO GOOD. He WEAVED his WORDS with his FLOW, and his LYRICS do not go along with, but DANCE WITH THE BEAT.

Thanks for your reaction! Loved this MV in every way possible as well as More! His album is fire as well as JHope himself! One of my most favorite albums I must say. I also think that "JACK IN THE BOX" is actually like his second identity, like Suga's - "August D".... I would recommend you to watch his Jack in the Box Vlive after listening to his album, where he explains the meaning of every song and what influenced his decision to come to the idea of creating such an album. So many details everywhere, such a deep meaning in every line in each song and no repetition with his flow or sound. Just great in general and highly recommended!

I can honestly say that there's not a single track on this album that I don't think is fire. The album flows well and it's great to see more of what he can do. Love the early 90's nostalgia feel to out too. ✌💜

The whole album is great! Every song and the lyrics but my favorites (now) is '= (Equal Sign) and 'Arson'. And 'Arson' followed by his '1 Verse' is sooo good.
And just the storytelling through the album. I do not skip the intro or the interlude 'Music Box' because it's just so good and I wanna listen to the album in full and in the order it is and usually I put tracks on playlists and not full albums but this one is one of those you wanna get the whole experience.
I had it on all day yesterday and when I was in the kitchen doing dishes and cooking I was dancing/vibing. It is really a good album and songs that just grows on you. Not like those pop hits you are sick of in a week or month. This just gets better.
And yes his flow, how he constantly changing it up and going from the super deep voice to lighter and growly to clear and the vocals in this album. Damn he is so talented.
I always said it that BTS are made up of 7 great artists that all would be great solo artists. And they are all so different so it's never a question of who's better. It's just 7 amazing equally good artists and you get a great mix and have something for every mood and situation.
Listening to the whole new album, it’s not a complete turn around to me, but a continuation of Hope World indeed. He’s just himself, again, and he’s giving us all of himself. Not what he thinks we want but honesty, all of him. It’s a masterpiece to listen to all the way through. He’s a masterpiece.

I’m not sure why but this really reminds me of Cyprus Hill type of beats and I love it! That kind of style carries throughout the album and I’ve only listened to it once but I’m going to definitely give it a couple more listens.

not going to lie, I thought this track would be in the more "pop route" more mainstream route because it's usually done like this but these two tracks are all experimental also all of the tracks in the album is experimental which just shows how authentic he is instead of the typical more pop stuff. And this time Jhope said he took on the role of producing the album but he is not sure if it's a mistake or not. But personally, it's the best thing ever. Not a mistake

I think a moniker like Agust D is in many ways backward looking, constructed of Daegu Town and Suga spelled backwards. He is saying I now accept I am an Idol but simultaneously is emphasizing I am still the same bad ass rapper capable of laying out my own story and emotions in rap. J Hope by contrast with Jack in the Box is forward looking. I think he is saying I have accomplished an astonishing amount of expression and connection. Having pride in that, I want to further ramify, to experiment with new forms of creativity. J Hope is building on something he has achieved under the J Hope stage name so a presenting under a different moniker might not be quite as appropriate as was the case for Suga. It is unneeded given what he is trying to convey.
P.S., the burning of the "perfect house" here reminded me of the burning of the perfect girlfriend in Taeyang's Eyes, Nose and Lips music video.
