    Love your thorough video. I have nearly identical setup with a different trigger. Just played with it yesterday. Consistent left curve at end of range...estimated 200ft or less. Shooting .40 bb shooting in mid 400s....any thought? Some say possible too tight on screws to outer barrel? Needs to break in? Dirty? I'm going to strip it down and get a good look at the bucking...thanks!

      Its a really fun setup right?!!! I'm currently really enjoying mine too, one thing I did notice when installing everything was the inner barrel could twist left or right ever so slightly before the biting screws are secured down, you may want to unscrew those and twist the inner barrel 0.1mm in the correct direct to centrally align. Its easy to type this but I know the job ahead is going to be quite long hauled lol. Good luck my friend! ^^

      Thanks for the response. I'll check those things. Gonna make sure the bucking is good, and the nub is lined up as well as "clock" the barrel perhaps bit. Any thoughts on trying a 75 degree maple leaf bucking? I have one....any thoughts on .43bb? So many variables, and I don't have a good long distance range in my neighborhood...to check my work. Let me know if any those ideas are a thing.
      P.s. one suggestion was to try and rotate the nub 180degrees and see if that offsets the curve .
      Thanks,
      Mike

    Quick question: How exactly does one remove the original TM barrel spacer? It doesn't just push out easily. Update: On the newest ones, it is glued. You will need a long rod and wil need to use force---I used a mallet---to get it out.

    How tight do you screw the screw nut that holds the hop-up lever down? And also to adjust the hop on these chambers do you have to disassemble the gun every time to gain access to the screw??

    • @AirsoftAfterHours
      @AirsoftAfterHours  4 роки тому

      Just a couple of turns in so it can stay in place. It’s doesn’t need to be screwed in much because the hop adjustment will need tuning in. The hop up adjuster screw is accessed through a peephole, only the magazine needs to be removed to get to it, very convenient and easy to use. Also, the best. ^^

    Hello friend!
    Just a little question that maybe will do a huge difference. I have a hop up unit just like yours. About the bb stoppers, they have two screws on the outside. My question is, how much do you tights the screws?
    I have some shots that are completely out of the aim point with the bb making some crazy trajectory and I think that maybe the problem is from there.
    Sorry for my English but I tried 😅
    Tks for you time.

    • @AirsoftAfterHours
      @AirsoftAfterHours  7 місяців тому +1

      Hi there! Your English is fine 😊
      The BB stoppers are there just to hold the BB in place ready for the nozzle to load, once the nozzle loads forward and the BB is taken, the two BB stoppers are kept out of the way by the nozzle, they only need to be tight enough to hold the BB gently but loose enough so they don’t create an obstruction when the nozzle loads forward (if they are too tight you will feel them in the way when loading a BB but smoothing the nozzle edges can soften this issue). Erratic trajectory shouldn’t be caused by them even if they are incorrectly set. I would suggest having a very close look at the hop rubber and nub setting first ^^

    What would happen if I straight up taped the entire inner barrel? If I buy spacers for a tm vsr "pro" can I buy two sets and install them? Will this further reduce vibrations?

    • @AirsoftAfterHours
      @AirsoftAfterHours  5 років тому +4

      Nathan Franklin
      Probably won’t be necessary to install 2 sets as one set can already dampen the vibes, picture a drum 🥁 symbol getting hit and you dampen the vibration by pinching the symbol, pinching it with two hands may not make any noticeable difference.
      We used the word “probably” because we don’t actually know for sure if there will be any benefit, as we haven’t done any test which compares one set of spacers vs two. 😊

      @AirsoftAfterHours  4 роки тому +1

      Hi Matt, the standard barrel spacer that comes with the VSR 10 is pretty useless so no need to re-install it after removal. To remove it, just pop it out using the inner barrel (gently push it out evenly towards the fatter end of the barrel).
      What we would do when installing everything is:
      1) First install the hop chamber and chosen barrel spacers onto the inner barrel.
      2) Install it into the outer barrel in one whole unit.

      The JG Bar 10 has slight tolerance differences when comparing to the Tokyo Marui VSR 10, we’re not entirely sure where the differences lie but if all parts would fit without issue we recommend following this guide: ua-cam.com/video/SgD5efmu-18/v-deo.html

      It might be a good idea to disassemble and recheck all parts, especially the hop rubber. Some hop up rubbers can come from the factory a little badly made. Also pay close attention to the mini nub and make sure it is seated correctly.

      That sounds like everything is working correct, once hop up is adjusted enough to lift the bb no more hop need be applied 👍🏻

    by your accent i'm going to assume you are UK based...
    bit concerning.... what you are suggesting is to adjust your hopup to take a 517 fps gun (dangerously close to the 520fps reclassification limit of 520fps or 2.51 jules were it'll become an airgun not an airsoft gun in the UK) to under the 500fps limits that most airsoft sites have for bolt action sniper rifles in the UK,.....
    2 major problems with this....
    firstly
    the 500fps (2.32 jules) is meant as a maximum energy that the rifle can achieve no matter what the position of the hop is.
    and secondly
    an more importantly the limits are 500fps which translates to somewhere around 2.32 jules with .20g bb's but ill be willing to bet you that with jule creep will push the jules to somewhere near or above 3 jules with .40g or heavier bb's making it an airgun and subject to normal firearms laws and regulations... generally you should be looking at around an m125 ish to keep your jules on or under the 2.3 jule limit. iv setup wolverine bolt kits that have massive jule creep having to drop the .20g bb fps down to only 400 to get the 2.3 jules on .40g bb's...
    by pushing these to the very limit you are getting people to use jule creep to effectively cheat and worse still run illegal guns at airsoft sites, especially the sites that don't understand the jule system yet
    you should probably stop trying to convince people to push the envelope and get as close as possible to the limits cos it'll end up landing you on the wrong side of the law or worse still convincing your viewers on to the wrong side of the law.... and to be honest with you im a little annoyed at this as you said in the vid you do stuff with airguns as well (when talking about your scope) meaning that you should understand that the law uses kinetic energy not fps when testing the legality of sized airguns that is why all airguns will be around 11 ishft/lb not the maximum 12ft/lb (16 jules) to account for ammo weight and other factors so there is absolutely no reason why you should be pushing people into running illegal guns, at airsoft sites. please stop this as i do really like the sniper role and if these breaches in site rules keep up then your gonna get bolt action rifles banned at the site level.... or worse get someone else banged up under firearms laws for shooting people with airguns all cos they followed your advice on tuning thire airsoft sniper rifles

      Hi, thank you very much for your comment, we completely understand your valid concern, it is genuinely not our intention to push airsoft enthusiasts to use illegal or dangerous airsoft rifles. Our sole purpose was to try and share hobby tips for all our viewers from around the world.
      As with any true hobbyist, when cause for concern is present, we will do everything in our power to correct it, because we care. So we have decided to add warnings in all of our sniper rifle descriptions and create a public service warning video, to educate those new to the hobby and wanting to adopt the role of a sniper of how to stay safe and legal with regards to power/ fps/ joule ratings.
      Thank you for your detailed input and true concern, we appreciate your mature nature of viewing the sport and hobby, we'd also like to add that we are not a reckless entity that tries to convince it's viewers to push the envelope on power limits, we take everyones safety very seriously which is why we will do what we can to make sure our viewers understand the dangers.
      All the best! AirsoftAfterHours ^^

      @@AirsoftAfterHours thanks for your mature attitude and i do apologise for not only for the rant but the length, i kinda got carried away, i don't usually rant at people but i had this issue at my site the weekend before last and i saw this an it set me off a bit, lol, what had happened was a young girl stumbled in front of a friendly sniper (both regular players) as he was taking a shot around 10m away (granted it is well inside the 20m minimum engagement distance) it hit her just above the eye pro and penetrated the skin and traveled about an inch under the skin, so another test of the sniper revealed 2.3 jules with .20g and another test with his ammo that he said was .36g at 375 fps or 2.35jules so yes it was close but too close to really grumble at the time, couldn't use our heavy ammo as i had sold it all that morning.... but... i then get a call off the girl who was hit after the hospital had removed the bb from under the skin with 6 stitches and possibly a permanent scar (though lucky to not lose her eye) and her dad happened to weigh the bb an oh dear is a .46... which means even though it was good on the crono for .20g bb's with .46 he would be somewhere at or above 3 jules, so now im in a very awkward position and have a lot of consequences to deal with an when i saw this i got a bit frustrated and a tad angry, it not fair that i rant at you as there are far bigger youtubers who are using the jule creep, weighted pistons and over voluming to effectively cheat the chrono to gain advantages and to get that super long shot on camera to get more views without considering safety and they seem to forget that not everyone is a professional airsofter and that there are newcomers and younger people. im no by no means an expert and id love to say this is an isolated incident but iv had to learn all the balistice stuff as this is the third penetrating injury at the site in as many weeks and what really concerns me is how people are using their tech knowledge to gain advantages which in turn pushes the more honest players to do the same to be able to keep up and forgetting that is a game at the end of the day. i've been so concerned by the frequency of issues i've been finding in the last 6-8 months that i had decided to hand on my site to a new owner as it isn't what i signed up for, an i certainly don't enjoy telling/arguing with players about the legality of their airsoft weapons, especially when some of them have come 200 miles for one of our weakenders or night opps games

      No need to apologise, we completely understand the concern. We're sorry to hear about the girls misfortune, we hope that girl is doing is ok and recovers well!
      Safety is absolutely paramount when engaging in this sport and we take it very seriously, our future videos will definitely consider this and have warnings in place where necessary, we believe this will both educate or enlighten some players and help build a stronger, more unified community. Thank you for bringing this topic up as it's good to share information within the community so newcomers get more insight into all aspects of the hobby, especially safety.
      We sincerely hope the troubles you are going through get sorted out quickly and that the future of our hobby stays strong with the help of hobbyists such as yourself, sometimes it takes the effort of a few to secure better future.
      All the best, and thank you for what you are doing for the sport and it's players!

      @@siliconesword1798 any chance you could show me were you got the science from showing almost 60fps loss over the first10 m? cos 2.14j on a sligtly lighter.45 is 320fps an in the instance above was 375fps on a .46, an what does your 480fps on .2g have to do with anything? do u use .2g? your fps means nothing other than a part of an equation to test the muzzle energy u producebut like iv said previosly i also have hpa set up, well in actual fact i hav 3 hpa vsr's, s hpa strikers, an 2 hpa m700... not including 12 other springers 14aegs 4 hpa'ed aegs an 27 pistols... and atleast the wolverine setup i use wen set to 2.28j on .4g then tests at about 405fps on .2 so if i set it to amout 65-68 psi pushing 485-490fps on .2 it translates to wel in exxess of 3 julesan probly closer to 4 jules due to jule creep, not all rifles creep that bad i know but what i have and what they do is fully irrelivent, the point of it all is to educate people that they need to be mindfull that relying on fps as aposed to actual muzle energy can in fact land you on the wrong side of the law an if cought whould mean assalt with an un licenced section1 firarm i.e. prison time
