The part of the movie that really stuck with me is when they are dressing him in the baseball costume and he throws on a HUGE smile right before the performance. Taron is amazing.
Taron absolutely NAILED it playing Elton. I think Elton even felt that way, given they have sung together since the biopic. The sad part is, Taron could have been Elton in another lifetime. He has THE most amazing voice and would have been an absolute superstar in the 70's. I think he is a superstar now, but I'm an oldie :D. Long live Taron, and keep pumping put the tunes.
Elton made good choice to let Taron sing with his own voice for this film. He sure is a incredible actor with lots of talent and this will sure be a movie we will remember for a long, long time. 🚀

When your 16 yr old daughter comes out of the movie and says she didn't realise Elton was so GOOD you know you've created a new fan for him. Best musical biopic I've seen (& yes I've seen Bohemian Rhapsody). This is amazing!
First he sings Elton's song, I'm Still Standing (Movie: Sing) Then saves Elton (Movie: Kingsman: The Golden Circle) And finally IS Elton (Movie: Rocketman)
The arrangement in this one is in my opinion unparalleled. The attention to details, the orchestration, the choice of instruments, the way the song is reinvented a bit while staying the same, the magnificent ending. To me this is kinda even better than the original, with all due respect and love of course.

But the way they did Rocketman (and I mean it was not only the Taron guy, it was a whole creative team curated by Elton himself), well, I think they struck gold.
I absolutely love Taron’s voice. I love this performance. I also really love how they changed the lyrics to “I miss my life” It’s extremely meaningful.

Went and saw the movie last night. Taron nailed the role, as I expected he would. Great costuming. Great arrangements. Right now I'd just really like to give Elton a hug for all he's been through!
It's great that he's actually singing, and not lip-syncing. His voice definitely isn't Elton John's, but it's very good. And for a British lad, he handles that baseball bat quite well. Looking forward to seeing this movie.

Not to compare it to Bohemian Rhapsody because that was fantastic, but I personally enjoyed this film more especially as a biopic, not only was it wonderfully shot, but it was a collage of Elton’s life in a real glammed up fashion from him being a kid to the height of his career and it held nothing back in terms of his anger management and sex drugs and rock N roll lifestyle, I thought it was perfect tribute to Elton’s legacy, really worth a watch if you like his music.

Took them forever to get it green lit for production. I’m glad Rocketman showed us what life is really like for a lot of people. Elton john is truly an inspiration.
RocketMan is WAY better than Bohemian Rapsody becuase Taron Egerton actually sings all the Sir Elton John songs, in Bohemian Rapsody Remi Malek lip-synced, he didn't actually sing ANY of the Freedy Mercury songs. Sir Elton John didn't even like Bohemian Rhapsody!!!
MissJools11 the other thing is that this movie production collaborated with Elton while they were performing and as a result the details are very much accurate and felt. It just shows how much respect they have for this amazing artist. Yes Bohemian Rhapsody was good but they should’ve delved more into Freddie’s life.
DeanoPiano well actually Rocket Man isn’t considered a biopic due to the musical nature, more as Bohemian Rhapsody was a biopic, but I do agree that this movie was shot beautifully and captured aspects of his life wonderfully, but considering the contrast between musical and biopic, I don’t think one can be better than the other considering their both extremely different, but yes, this movie was beautiful.

I love Sir Elton John beyond belief! However, I listen to this version almost everyday. Taron obviously had coaching from Elton himself. There is something about Tarons version that has deep want. More than likely to get approval from Sir Elton himself.

It really should. I mean not only did he sing, but he brought an incredible amount of personality and rama into the character. The scene where he tells his mother over the phone about his sexuality is so far the biggest acting achievement I've seen this year. Honestly it almost seems absurd now that we gave Rami Malek an Oscar for wearing a wig, fake teeth, not singing and just copying what Freddie used to do. I mean it was not his fault, the script didn't give him a chance to do anything dramatic or demanding, but still. Egerton's performance stands on its own, while Malek's is good only if you know who he is supposed to be.

DeanoPiano well actually Rocket Man isn’t considered a biopic due to the musical nature, more as Bohemian Rhapsody was a biopic, but I do agree that this movie was shot beautifully and captured aspects of his life wonderfully, but considering the contrast between musical and biopic, I don’t think one can be better than the other considering their both extremely different, but yes, this movie was beautiful.

I love Sir Elton John beyond belief! However, I listen to this version almost everyday. Taron obviously had coaching from Elton himself. There is something about Tarons version that has deep want. More than likely to get approval from Sir Elton himself.

@@videogames4469 Creo que Bohemian Rhapsody peco de ser muy comercial que es algo irónico porque el mismo nombre que tiene la peli es de una canción que no fue considerada muy comercial en su tiempo.
Y que es un poco dificil empatizar con Freddie, porque nunca sufre realmente las consecuencias de sus actos, quiero decir si dijo que hasta consideraba a sus amigos como distracciones (en la peli ojo, no en la vida real) y luego sus amigos estan con él como si nada lol

It really should. I mean not only did he sing, but he brought an incredible amount of personality and rama into the character. The scene where he tells his mother over the phone about his sexuality is so far the biggest acting achievement I've seen this year. Honestly it almost seems absurd now that we gave Rami Malek an Oscar for wearing a wig, fake teeth, not singing and just copying what Freddie used to do. I mean it was not his fault, the script didn't give him a chance to do anything dramatic or demanding, but still. Egerton's performance stands on its own, while Malek's is good only if you know who he is supposed to be.
