It's so sad. These people put so much effort and obvious passion into what I think is one of the greatest superhero movies ever. Only for people to crap on it just because it's not like Marvel.
Yes I do agree, this is one of my favorite movies I could watch it for weeks and never get bored, so many people just like Marvel over DC I think just because of all the famous people they have and the fact that they’re owned by Disney. But I definitely prefer DC over Marvel.
DC has at least the better games for sure as of now. Gotham Knights and Suicide Squad still to come. I love the MCU and I also love the Dark Knight Trilogy and Man of Steel. I never knew MoS got so much hate. But you gotta admit that the DCEU movies weren't that great...

I really don't know why this movie is so hated. It's like... 50% in rottentomatoes... It's too dark?, I love that colour palette from Zack Snyder (al his movies always been that way)... TBH I never get tired of watching this move. And I'm more of a Marvel fan than a DC, or at least, Superman it's not my favorite DC superheroe... But this Superman feels way a more of a superhero than anyone in the MarvelMultiverse, with a true superpower. Every hit he does feels powerfull. I don't know how to express... Anyway, this movie is fucking awesome and I don't know why it does not get the credit it deserves.

For e.g., compare the dark color tone of a dc film with Thor ragnaroks color or guardians of the galaxy's color scheme...there is a huge disperity in terms of what emotion they evoke to an audience cos the audience is linking it with all the past forms of media that they fell in love with(remember that scene from Superman returns where he saves that plane, its one of my fav scenes even though the movie was not that great cos it pays homage to a cartoon episode form my childhood that I saw). Im in no way insulting the Dc movies, im only stating why I think they don't fare so well in comparison to Marvel.
Such a great movie. Easily the best Superman movie and Cavill is easily the best live action Superman. And thank God they got rid of the horrid trunks!! It's also cool how the suit has meaning and isn't just something his human mother made... especially considering the damage it would take just flying.
I think the one narrative theme from this film that was lost on those that didn't like or understand it, is the notion that Clark/ Superman feels an incredible since of loneliness and isolation being that he is literally an alien amongst humans. He internalizes this significant difference. People mistook this as Henry Cavill's portrayal as bleak. But it's actually a very nuanced approach to that prior films never truly captured.
People who did hate these movie are because they can't accept the realism in it, they always love to live in fantasy world where the hero is perfect being. I believe these MoS would still relevant and more love some decades later. Too bad we maybe never get the true sequel.

This was a great movie. They got to skip how nobody could recognize Superman when he put on Clark Kent's glasses. But it was a little confusing how the Kryptonians could do hand-to-hand combat better than Superman, when they had superhuman powers for a day, whereas he had them his entire life.

I think they actually have gotten the essence of early golden age comics superman and it shows that they were trying to slowly build up the story of how Clark becomes the hero. It’s just Clark at his start learning how to be who we the audience know him to be.

I would of loved a Man of steel trilogy
Essentially, in the real world, the S on the chest IS a symbol of universal recognition for hope and an inspiration to all to be a force for good.
