Them coming back to Tunic after 4 weeks and basically saying "I finally saw the golden path off part" is actually kind of maddening. Seeing the reaction to it for the first time is one of the best parts of watching these =( . I forgive you though.

The Golden Path is probably my single favorite puzzle in all of gaming.
Ooh, Ian's Lore interpretation time! It was so much fun when you did this during Hollow Knight, and I'm loving it here too.
Yeah, meeting the trapped Heir happens both on first death and if you go to the big golden door before ringing both bells. The latter event got skipped over your first time through, but I'm glad you saw it on the replay!
Again, really enjoying hearing your lore thoughts here. Even with all the text translated, there's a lot of stuff that gets left ambiguous, but there's some wild stuff hiding behind that translation.
While I'd understand if you edit it, it would be really cool to see you guys go through the Golden Path discovery on-video. It is SUCH a cool process.
Absolutely LOVE Ian's manic energy when he's invested in the lore and the puzzles.
Also as I was watching this my order from Fangamer arrived, which contained a bunch of Tunic merch incredible timing.
Apart from what you’ve already found, there is a fun secret in that extra save file! (Which doesn’t have to do with the story or anything)

Running around looking at little bits of stuff that might contribute to the world building and lore is great. This series is so much fun

Ian I love your lore analyses! I really enjoy listening to your theories and interpretations, and Casey's reactions to your lore essays and the questions they raise lead to incredible discussions!
From getting into the lore some time back, I got the impression that Tunic lore wasn't really "solved" - mysteries lacked explanation, even with all the information available. I chalked it up to being, in some cases, unsolvable - the cool mysteries are always real, but there's not always lore behind them.
Then Ian comes out SWINGING this episode and makes some interesting points that I don't think I saw a Tunic theorist ever bring up - like where all the dessicated purple foxes come from. I really like the idea that they're somehow created from the Bad Grape Juice!

Yeah, that chest above the save point Under The Well is ... a difficult one to figure out how to reach. Generally speaking, Tunic has three kinds of secret passages:
1 - The passage was always open, just hidden behind the fixed camera angle
2 - The passage can be opened by bombing a wall
3 - The passage opens by ... _[doing something else]_
Now the map for Under The Well does imply a secret passage connecting the west room back to the save point room, but what do you do to open it?
I haven't finished the episode yet, but... Just a few minutes in
IAN FIGURED OUT THE GOLDEN PATH!!!! OH MY GOD I CANNOT TELL YOU HOW PROUD I AM OF YOU YOU BIG DUMB AWESOME MAN!!!! Watching people discover and figure out the puzzles in this game is wild, but watching someone figure out the Golden Path all on their own IS MAGICAL! I am so proud of you, my man! I cannot wait to watch the rest of this episode and see where it goes :D
Look closer on the well map. There is a way to the chest.
Seeing the way to the chest doesn't help you know how to open it, and given that he already bombed the relevant wall about ten times I'm not sure how satisfying it would actually be to notice that at this point lol

keep the notebook and notes you made, scribbled and gathered together while playing tunic

my first thought was that all the different Souls WERE the defeated Heirs - that there have been THOUSANDS of generations of these Heirs being defeated and replaced, then drained and used for energy- but the picture in the beginning of the book shows that's not the case, since both the Heir and the Soul are there at the same time. which made me think- since the two of them look so Similar, WHAT IF the Heir had a sibling?? and THAT is who is being drained, cloned, and used for power???
I'm probably not right, the book would've mentioned a sibling probably, but it's cool (and tragic) to think about! maybe THE SIBLING was even the one to discover the secret to defy death- and was backstabbed by the Heir!
.....man, this would make a good fanfiction.

Lore essay yay!!!!!! I had a lot of fun listening to the speculation. I have no clue if it's right but it sounds cool! Also the golden path stuff for the first square: that's exactly what I thought when you were first looking at the page!!
I think I saw a path to that chest in the well over the doorway you went through. It's been forever since I played and I don't remember whether I ever noticed the 3rd save after getting so far in the game I did platinum tunic though but I looked up some of the harder puzzles lol

There is a secret regarding the "special save" that I guarantee you'll never ever find unless you look it up. I can share it if you want, or you can look it up, but I'll leave it up to you, because I don't want to spoil it if you don't want it.
It's not story-related, and it's not related to The Golden Path or any other puzzles. It IS interesting, though. And again, it's 100% something you will never think to find on your own.

I would like to point out, just as a "here's some info" not as a "you're doing it wrong, do it this way", that an obelisk a different shape than what you're referring to. An obelisk is like a polygonal pencil shape, think the Washington Monument. The shape you're looking at is probably moreso a monolith. I don't care which word you use, call it whatever, I just wanted to convey some interesting information.
As someone who translated the manual, I'd say you're pretty wrong about most of that, but who cares, it's fun to speculate. Honestly the manual is cryptic enough that even I'm probably wrong about some stuff. The only one who's right is Andrew, who came up with all of it...
In terms of the praying mechanic, I'm surprised you didn't try more things right from the get-go in your new file, because in this video you still seem to have some misconceptions about it. (I considered explaining it in this comment and decided against it, because idk if you'd actually appreciate that or if you still want to try to figure that out.)
