Its kind of funny how Ian and Casey's ways of playing the game are the opposites of their characters. Like, Ian's being serious playing the Noise, and Casey's fucking with Ian while playing Peppino, whereas its the opposite dynamic for the characters.
And this my friends, is why it's called "Swap Mode" and not "Co-op Mode".

The swap mode shenanigans in John Gutter have been exactly what I wanted to see since the beginning, and the fact Ian seemed so upset about it made it

For both people dashing, whoever lets go of the run button first loses, unless interrupted by an outside force that isn’t damage, for example a banana peel.
Crouching and crawling allows you to not be grabbed as well.
Also for some reason crouching during a grab also insta-kills the opponent without throwing them.
The mode is essentially competitive co-op like Kirby’s Epic Yarn, where you both have the same goal but your scores are tracked separately, so it leads to a lot of crazy fun, much like what you are slowly experiencing here.

see, if you told me a "Peppino and Noise climb the tower together" mode was added, I would've expected something like that first round rather than working together lmao
it IS framed more as competing, where you try and avoid getting control taken from you and get as many points as possible from regular gameplay. player with the most points wins at the end, so the players may be less inclined to fight for points if theyre getting chased down by pizza face lmao

Dude I would SO love to see more chaos mode. Even if it’s not a full playthrough, having a level per episode or so would make this series so much better. If Casey ever gets a chance to actually learn the controls I bet it’d be so fun to watch them compete for top spot while both actually trying to beat the levels
You see, the difference between this and Peach Showtime is that you *both* have some illusion of control here. And you're absolutely right, sometimes it's annoying in Showtime but it's fucking hysterical here. This is my favorite BLG episode in a long time.
I like how Casey and Ian’s relationship it’s kind of like the relationship of Peppino and The Noise. But ironically Casey is The Noise to Ian’s Peppino.

i had a feeling itd be downright impossible for someone to beat a level if player 2 did their damndest to make them die to pizza face, which is why i added the addendum of casey messing with him at her leisure instead of at all possible opportunities lol

Oh yeah I remember that song from Night Vale! wow, haven't thought about that in years (haven't listened to the show in at least five...I think), but boy did I remember it when you started talking about the lyrics. And for context: the show is generally styled with each episode being a radio show broadcast, and it has a segment called The Weather that's just an indie song playing (the full thing, in my experience) that I think they usually get from listener submissions. The specific song is never really relevant to the story of the episode, it's just a thing that happens. I remember there being some interesting ones like that.
(....I will say that Ian holding off on the third qotd idea is giving me flashbacks to the poptart question episode. unlikely to reoccur here but it would be funny)

Ian's "we're not even gonna P-rank" as though that's some sort of basic qualifying level of accomplishment is so funny, doubly so because he doesn't even realize how ridiculous that is in the moment.
We finally found a way to make Casey delighted to play Pizza Tower! I'm not sure I've ever heard quite this much pure joy laughter from Casey before.

Fun fact about 413. Once, when I was helping my mom set up a cellphone for an elderly relative, the randomly generated number involved both that and 612 (the phone has since been put out of use). Naturally, I took this as a sign and proceeded to read all of Homestuck to my mom, making her part of the probably-less-than-ten people over 60 to have read it. She enjoyed a lot of stuff about it! Even though the internet-brand humor often went right by entirely or landed completely wrong, it was on the whole a very fun time for both of us.

N64 controller design was crazy. As for myself, coming from the SNES, I held it on both sides and sort of stretched my thumb and middle finger over for the stick and z button, but apparently the intended way was for games to only require two of the three sections of the controller, and you'd place your hands on the prongs accordingly. Of course, then you had things like Goldeneye which had some of the most outrageous control schemes ever made including some that used two different controllers.
That question is invalid, we had the QotD earlier.

23:16 LMAO welcome to nightvale has what is called "weather segments" where each episode they will pay a random indie artist to write a song and play it during the episode. it's a running gag since episode one where the main character will say "and now: the weather" and a random ass song will play instead of anything to do with the weather.
yes, welcome to nightvale is technically set in a fictional world. "nightvale" (the setting) is a little fictional town.... somewhere in the deserts of southern US. the whole premise is that nightvale SHOULD be a normal american town but everything ranges from slightly off to straight up eldritch horror, and all the residents of the town treat it as if it's normal.
That first run was incredible!

26:55 this reminds me of the show “Xavier renegade angel”. It’s this acid trip of a show featuring some hippie… thing, that goes around and trying to solve problems, if it was someone else’s or his own it didn’t matter. From that description it sounds pretty tame, but boooooy… let me tell yuh. This show was 2010-2011 era adult swim, and even for that time it feels out of place. It has very terrible animation, and they sometimes use that to their advantage to make certain jokes but enough about that, it’s the writing that is the most out of pocket thing EVER. I will give to you a COMPLETELY in context moment for what I am about to type, in the episode, Xavier is swapping in between friends. He gives an idea to the non-emo friend to somehow control wind. He would then show off this invention to Xavier, showing that it had made a mini-tornado that could do simple tasks. He orders it to make him a sandwich and it does as such, but throws it at the non-emo friend. He would then explain that the wind is unstable and needs to be disciplined. So… I HEAR YOU NOT! Actually before I say I just want to say RACISM WARNING to anyone who is very sensitive to this sort of thing, and also that this is kinda hilarious because THIS IS ON CN’S RESUME! But yeah, non emo friend says (again RACISM WARNING), “IM SENDING YOU YO THE FIELDS” WITH WHIP IN HAND!😱 and you want to know what the real of the hero of this story is, Xavier, the renegade ANGEL who guides people to “understanding” says
