Exactly why my 79 930 is not going in for a restoration. @drty930 was found behind a shop sitting for 5 years. It sat in my garage for another 7 years while I tended to my 75 911S and last of three kids getting through high school and college. Two years ago the drty930 was rolling again and it gets tons of appreciation because it doesn't look like the other shiny 930s. Cheers.
So true so true in what to say in video,, cars are meant to be driven, especially porsches. Dont worry about how the paint and interior looks like,, just drive drive on ,puts a smile on my face every time i drive my 87.
I totally agree. Spend your money on the mechanicals and don't worry about how it looks. I would love to purchase one of your cars with that beautiful patina if you ever want to sell one.
This guys comment about money for him doesn't buy happiness, but cars certainly do, reminds me of the time I heard, "Money can't buy happiness, but it can buy a dirtbike. Have you ever seen anyone unhappy on a dirtbike?"...and I own a dirtbike. This guy seems like he's got the right attitude about his priorities. Follow your passions. I love old air cooled Porsche. I have one in particular I have my eye on, it left the factory on the day I was born.
Professor, I agree with you. I bought my BMW M2 in 2018 and it has all the good options. I never wash it though. It's not shiny and has whatever surface finish the immediate weather put upon it. The 4 fancy exhaust pipes that are supposed to be chrome are now grey in color. Naturally maintenance is by the book and I run Sport Cup 2's for cornering precision. The charcoal metallic paint looks decent but only if it rains. I can't stand prissy clean cars with prissy owners with prissy attitudes. I like carving mountain roads outside of Denver and on occasion i might stop for a burger and enjoy a little buzz courtesy of my little flask of whisky.
Ahhh yes, real Porsche patina 4:55 - those puffy disintegrated foam sun visors. Eventually they crack, and every time thereafter you drive your masterpiece you are sprinkled with Porsche dandruff.
I concur the best Porches are old, and look there best with battle scars, keep them mechanically good and enjoy the drive that what it all about! Speaking from experience here have owned a battered 1981 SC for over 20 years and its the best fun you can have with your cloths on! All the best from Ireland. Nice video btw!
Interesting. "Money doesn't bring happiness but cars do". Cute but I'm not sure how you legally acquire a car without money... especially Porsches not to mention maintenance.
@@carsunknown I guess you missed my point or I didn't express myself properly. What I meant was that in order to acquire (legally I stress) a Porsche you need to have money in your bank account or some form of disposable cash. So money had to come first before he could buy what he perceives as happiness. Therefore money did bring him happiness because with it he was able to buy the object of his desire. And to answer your question, I would love to have a third Porsche in my garage but I would also need the $100ks in my bank account for their maintenance...

Such a great attitude about owning and driving Porsches. It’s exactly the way I feel and has been for the past 40years! Great video!
That's why he's The Professor!

Did you ever get the Porsche?
DIE Faszination … 😉😊👍
Why are you fascinated with death?
Beautiful!! What road is that he is driving? Decker Canyon?
Fabulous!
What are you using to get the camera movement? (like 4:03 to 4:30)
It is probably the "pan & zoom" function of the editing software, the camera is stable. Cheers!
#Friggin #Magic!

Sounds like you're Professor approved, but go easy on the whiskey!
sweet!
I can relate: I'm an antiques collector and a Porsche fanatic.
How many Porsches in your collection?
I want to go! I have a 05 Carrera .
Are you still doing the professor runs? If so, when and where? I’d like to join!
Coming back soon!

Money doesn't buy happiness....no but it buys cars which equals happiness!
👍🏁

Send us a picture of your SC! We plan on making a trip to your side of the pond to film new episodes.
I agree with the professor: Porsche cars are like potato Chips, can't just have 1
More is indeed better!

Well, would you rather have a hundred grand in your bank account or a couple old Porsches in your garage?
