we stayed at sandcastle oceanfront resort in south Myrtle Beach lat august. its a nice hotel. don't have any resturaunts or giftshops but the rooms r nice with pools and a lazy river with a tiki bar. we was on the 12th floor with good ocean view. the room had good ac both at the bedroom side u walk into and the livingroom side. the room has a small kitchen 2 big beds and a murphy bed. easy beach access. would stay again.
Crown reef resort is and always will be our favorite because of my kids. This year we are staying at the sands ocean club resort. I almost booked captains quarter.
Great question! So we have tried cheaper options without much success! So our suggestion would be to stick with one of the major chains (Marriott, Hilton, Holiday Inn) and find one of their cheaper options which will probably run you around 125 - 145 a night. That's not "cheap cheap", but you will have a decent place to stay at!

It is great to hear your updated list of places to stay in Myrtle Beach. Gonna have to pass on Waikiki Village Retro Hotel. Two entry doors, loud retro air conditioner and an uncomfortable bed is not a recipe for success. If your hotel has a retro theme, you don't need to include a retro air conditioner as part of that. We have never been to a hotel so bad that we couldn't stay there. Fingers crossed though. Should make a great video if we ever do find one that bad. LOL. Thanks for sharing these tips with us!
I’ve always wanted to go to Myrtle Beach! Great tips on where to stay (and avoid! lol!) lots of lovely spots! From beaches to water slides, there are so many great options in Myrtle Beach.
You guys need to check out the new Holiday Inn Club Vacation, its at the very end of Ocean Blvd right next Crown. Supposedly opens in April as thats when taking reservations.
North beach and resorts are starting to show there wear on the rooms that I have stayed in the towers. Wife and I had the most energized stay last year as Tropical Storm Idalia showed its nasty face to Myrtle Beach. I kept keeping track of it and the property was not willing to cancel on me due to no mandatory evacuations. I have been various hurricanes and TS storms. So we prepped in advanced of getting food and just hunkering down in hotel room for a day. Ultimately the storm was really "nothinburger", no street flooding, storm surge only got to the dunes, that it. The pool area was closed the next day of course to clear any debris and water.
I'm sure they are starting to show some wear and tear! The resort itself has been around for a little bit! Thanks for watching and sharing your experience!
Thanks for sharing!
You bet! Hopefully it can help some people!

You and Greg I think would really like Myrtle Beach! Plus Charleston is only 90 minutes away if you wanted to go see it!

I bet it will be nice! Will add it to our list of possible places!
We haven't made it to Myrtle Beach yet. It's definitely on our list. Lynn and Danny
So much to do! You all will have a good time!
Amazing place

Appreciate the recommendations! That Marriott looks on point!
The Marriott was super nice! If we had an option of staying at any of these places that would be the place!
Does anyone know anything about Sand Dunes Resort MB. I think it’s north although I’m not sure .. I’m getting mixed ratings I reserved a condo there
