It sounds like the real reasons why she likes Carolina Beach is because of donuts.

Growing up in the PNW Disneyland was where we went. We absolutely loved Disneyland and with California Adventure just across the lot is really great. Also Downtown Disney is fantastic area. We recently moved to TN so we took our family to Disneyworld. We were all so excited but ended up being disappointed. It was smaller with less rides. we missed having California adventure right across the way and also really missed downtown Disney that we could walk to.

When I usually go to Mytle beach I stay at a Hilton in north Mytle but this time we tried the strand DO NOT STAY THERE it is so dirty hair everywhere breaking elevators breakfast was discussing do not stay there

There is no comparison as Georgia's coastline is the shortest and has virtually no public beach access: Tybee, St. Simons, Sea Island and Jekyll, that's it. Some islands such as Cumberland are accessible by ferry but not road. South Carolina and especially North Carolina have many, many more miles of public beach access than Georgia. Debate over!

The resorts are very good, but they are dropping services, amenities, not maintaining very well yet the yearly fee keeps going up. They also ripped me off on a "keep me interested" off to come back and interview again. That was the last time I sat in one of those meetings. Awful. 2k a year for my "free week".

It was worth a lot more than that to the shark, I am sure. LOL.

Halloween animatronics have come a long way over the years. I would have freaked out if this was in a neighbor’s yard on Halloween night!

1200 and now 1900 plus 23k over the x amount of years plus each year ur points get u less n less its not worth it at all especially having to book out so many months.. vacations need to be not onky planned maybe 1 to 2 months out but also thise spontaneous vacations.. with all the sales and deals all different places and resorts offer just to fill the rooms u can almost guarantee ur over paying by alot

So you spent 23 initially and then 1.5k average per year, that is 32K in 6 years or 5300 a year. I think with that money you can spend two weeks in a nice hotel. Do you really have save money?

A million shelves over the toilet. LOL. Seems unnecessary. Almost looks like it is a ladder up to the ceiling. Yeah, white couches aren't the best for rental properties over time. I love the pool area here. It looks wonderful! Looks like a nice place to stay (even if it could use some more upkeep). I will have to go Google the prices to see if I think it is worth it... but it might be just for that pool area. Thanks for another honest review!

I lived in Hickory for a couple years as a child and my accent was so thick lol. When I came back home to Michigan at 9 years old, my old friends couldn’t believe my accent. I miss North Carolina so much!

The resort will give you much less than what you paid for your points, they then recycle these points back into their point system. But understand, once these points get recirculated back into their system, they are sold again at full price, so there is a huge arbitrage the resort gets. The reason why they can do this, is because the points aren't worth much to begin with. The secondary points market values the points much much less then the initial price, mostly due to the contractual obligations that are stuck with the points. Essentially it's the contract terms and conditions that devalue the points to essentially worthless.

We had a similar reaction. Walking through Disneyland felt very familiar... but like something was off the whole time too. There is a lot to like at Disneyland. Less walking for one thing because the rides are close together due to not having much space to grow. Jack LOVED getting to ride Mr. Toad's Wild Ride again since Walt Disney World got rid of the ride. I love all the various Fantasyland dark rides. But Disney World just has so much to do across its 40 square miles. We will probably always prefer Orlando. But Disneyland is a nice place to visit every now and then. Thanks for sharing you two! Most people I know go to the beach in South Carolina out of those 2 states. I have not been to a beach in South Carolina so unfortunately I can't speak from experience.

We agree. North and South Carolina beaches are where it is at. We did enjoy our visit to Tybee Island a couple years ago - and we would happily go back to visit again. But the Outer Banks, Myrtle Beach and Hilton Head are gonna be our favorites. It is funny that yall are beach people but dont like getting in the water. I don't enjoy getting in the water at beaches myself - definitely prefer pools. But I do love laying on the beach and taking in the sights and sounds and smells. Although I accompany Jack into the water sometimes. Anyway, Carolinas win - based on what we have seen. I do feel like I need to see more of the Georgia coast before I pass final judgement though. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
