Still so sad to see that empty field where the Pavilion was. The Pavilion and The Thunderbird Motor Inn were my childhood beach experience. Thanks for the walk down memory lane!
A lot of people miss the Pavilion. I believe the ZIP line Adventure that took the place of the Pavilion recently closed down. Thanks for watching my friend. Have a great weekend!👍
Wow you have that history. Very nostalgic motel vlog. They look pretty kept up. Hard for them to compete with the big guys. Myrtle holds many spaces in peoples memories. I bet someone would jump off the 3rd floor to get into the pool on that second one. Now I am hungry and need food! You had me at BBQ. 🍖
I love documenting these old motels. One day they all will be gone. Vanished from existence! I believe you are right about someone jumping off the upper floor back in the good old days.😂 I may or may not have done that crazy move at a motel in Carolina Beach in the mid 90’s.🤣 My choices were questionable back then. Thanks for watching Dude!
I really like watching your videos they're very informative they're very interesting and very entertaining and I've always liked watching the way you give all the details and where you go keep up the good work make really great videos
Back in the late 60's as a kid we stayed at Waikiki Village on the southend,it's still there with a nice recent renovation. My grandparents stayed at the Sun Fun motel a few blocks from the boardwalk,it's still there and in pretty good shape,I think it's being used as a long term stay motel.I also think it would be cool if they had an Amphitheater or a Bandshell where the Volleyball courts are now for free concerts.
Such an interesting video. Loved seeing the old pictures and the current hotels/motels. The burgers also looked delicious. Keep these great videos coming!
I just discovered your channel yesterday. I love your content, very interesting and extremely easy to listen to. The last time I was at Mb the pavilion field had a country music festival going on, so I guess they just use it for events.
Hello Frankie! Thank you for the kind words. I heard Myrtle Beach had a Food Truck Festival in the old Pavilion field last year. Thanks for watching my friend.
Awesome! I was hopping a few people would get a kick out of the retro motels. I had so much fun researching the locations and talking to some front desk help. Everyone was very supportive of my vlog. 👍
I actually stayed at the Atlantic View Motel it was probably built when there was actually an ocean view from across the street. The winter rates were good when I stayed there in 2019-20,$35 nightly or $150 weekly, probably higher now.
My family have been staying at MB consistently for the last 15 years and love it. I first stayed there when I was a kid in the early 70s. The motel was T & C Motor Court off King's Highway. I'm guessing it was at 2nd Ave N. I remember walking down to the 2nd Street Pier (I believe). Wonderful family memories! Anyone remember that motel or where it was located?
I was at Simply Southern Smokehouse restaurant in Myrtle Beach last month. One of the employees was telling me they heard Myrtle Beach had plans of bringing a Casino to the old Pavilion location. They could not confirm it for sure. I guess we will see what happens in a few years. Thanks for watching and have a great weekend my friend.
I have a few more motels to add to your future hunts. The Tropical Oasis Hotel is still standing at 9th Ave S and Ocean Blvd. It was most recently renovated and owned by a famous hotel chain. Now it’s up for sale. Another hotel is called Blu Atlantic Hotel which used to be called the Atlantic Paradise when I stayed there many years ago. On the ocean front in the southern part of town. One final one to add is the Beachcomber Hotel which is still called the Beachcomber and was recently renovated a few years back. It’s also located oceanfront in the south end of town. I used to stay there as well back in the 90’s. Check em out and enjoy. I just subscribed to your channel so I’ll be watching your videos
And the Polynesian. $31 a night for a ground floor poolside room back in '06. Voted one of the top 10 dirtiest motels in America. But man, did we have some memories there. Being broke college students from SC, Myrtle was the best we could afford for spring break.
I have not made a standalone Florence Bucees video. I did put in my Mega Bucees vlog.😁 Here is a link ua-cam.com/video/IBJ26yiMJ8k/v-deo.htmlsi=ycgdMJgTAVr56KDb
Duffys right behind you has some of the best burgers in myrtle beach imo. Rivercity cafe is really good too especially all the specialty burgers. I love the one in surfside!
I made a video about the new Surfside Pier after it reopened. River City Cafe was next door. The smells coming out of that place was epic! Thanks for telling about Duffy’s. I will give them a try someday. Thanks for watching my friend.

Hey Will. I think that is a great idea about having a Amphitheater where the volley courts are located!

You are welcome my friend. Thank you for watching and have a great day.👍
Would love to see inside as well. Will you be doing indoor and room tours?
Hey Diana! Maybe in the future I ask for permission to film inside. Thanks for watching and have a great day.👍

@@HitchHikingYeti Thankyou same to you 😊
I enjoy the nostalgic video and enjoy Myrtle Beach. Best burger I ever ate was at Pete’s Landing. Wish it hadn’t closed.
Thanks for watching my friend. If you can think of another good burger spot that is still open please let me know. Thanks again!
The zip line at the old Pavilion site is now gone and there’s talk that a new ballpark for the Pelicans may get built there ..

I can imagine how reasonable those prices was back then vs today
Nice 😊
Thanks for watching Michael.👍
There’s also a motel there called south seas motel used to stay there when I was a kid in the 70s. It’s still there.
Back in 1995 during our Senior week getaway. Some of my friends stay at South Seas. It was a nice place back then.
If you ever come back to MB you need to try Burkeys as a a MB resident cheap but great food and the inside feels like a 1950s diner.
The only thing that sucks tho is it’s been closed for a few months now because a fire broke out but is reopening soon.
Thanks John. I will give it a try on my next day trip to MB. Thanks buddy.

Duffy’s beside the Bowery. Unforgettable burger. Having said that I eat at one of the River City Cafe’s a couple of times a month.
