I've never been to Ireland. I'm not an Irishman. Nonetheless, when I hear this music, it transports me to 1916, to the 1920s, the 60s even. I AM there clutching my rifle alongside my comrades and waiting for the ambush to begin when that lorry full of the Queens worst comes around the corner. Thank You from my eternal soul for being who you were and for making this music to chronicle it all. You have inspired an old American Rebel to keep on the fight with your tales of better men and women who believed in something real & true and gave everything to gain it. I know it's kind of warm and squishy, but I tear up when I listen to some of these. Maybe that's an indulgence an old man can claim from a place of leisure next to the fire while reflecting on his own adventures, trials and tribulations but you have given me a tonic that put me back on my feet ready to muster. Easy to believe in past lives when I listen to Rebel tunes.
My entire Family was I.R.A. I really understand your desires. I am in Chicago. This L.P. was played often in my childhood. My mother worked at an Irish pub. The owner brought bands over from I.E. The craic was great! 26+6=1. If you don't understand let me know!
@@vivianlemottee3291 I have been working, can't kill an old gal, been working at Taco Bell in Gainesville, Texas. I had a stroke, but am doing great. @@zackb161 read my comment again I agree the Wolfe tones and Dubliners are the two best Irish folk bands of all time and I think tommy and Luke are the best ballad singers with paddy Reilly probably no 3.

It would be fun if the Irish rebel song "Rifles of the I.R.A" was sung by an Irish singer on the talent show "Britain's Got Talent".
Steve Coogan did something similar with his character on the Alan Partridge Show...Irish farmer singing...Come out Ye Black an Tans😂😂
@@studslannigan6286 Yes on the BBC! But in reality it's an English singing there!
Wouldn't be allowed

As good as tommy is he's no Luke Kelly. Both the best bands.
