Try to unplug the cable from the daughter board, not the main PCB. For some reason, the end on the PCB will hit the Hotswap socket. It's way easier to remove the other end
@@HarvindG Haha you're okay, it's kind of being a sneaky connector and hiding. Also, in theory if you're going take out the daughter board for, say a silicone pour, you don't even need to disconnect it. Just remove the daughter board. Hehe
Thank you for the review! I hesitate between this keyboard and the royal kludge rk61. They are both available on Amazon with an azerty layout! Appart the slighty different layout, which of the two do you think is the best?
That's a tough one! The X79 is better quality than the RK61, but the RK61 is much easier to mod and customize. I think it depends which matters more to you, both are great options to have. I'd personally go with the X79 because my workflow requires arrow keys.
You seriously deserve more recognition! The presentation looks amazing and you have a really nice voice, very soothing. I just found your channel, these videos are so satisfying. Keep it up 🙏🙏🔥!
Thank you! I actually have the GAS67 with me right now, but I haven't gotten around to building it and recording the review. Based on what I've seen, you can't go wrong with it. It's like a mini KBD67 Lite without QMK/VIA support.
Personally I daily drive this board, currently just use it stock but I'm looking into upgrading it. Only cost me £20 on Facebook marketplace... Really happy with that lol
@@ThatCoasterEnthusiast that's an insane deal for this! Get some nice switches and keycaps, tape mod or foam the case, and you've got yourself a heck of a board for under £100!
Thank you for this nice review pleasant to watch and listen. I'm looking for a budget 65% AZERTY ISO layout wireless and the choice is very limited, but this one seems not _too_ bad.
The Gateron Oil Kings I have are excellent, but they might not be considered budget. You can try the new Akko CS switches that come lubed from the factory. Their non-lubed switches are already very smooth, I'm sure their lubed switches are even better.
KTT Kangs if u want a marbley keyboard. KTT Wines if u want a low pitched board. Check out the MMD HT (HoneyTactile) and other switches made by KTT, MMD and AKKO
When u use cable mode and restart ur PC does it stay in cable mode ?? Because someone said u have to put it in cable mode after every restart or shutdown of the PC Wich would be a huge no no
Great question, I don’t know because I don’t have this board anymore. I used it on Bluetooth the whole time I had it, so I didn’t really notice the cable issue.

That's a great tip! Can't believe I didn't even think of trying it that way.

Have one X79, very nice Keyboard at correct price, Thanks for your video !
love your shoots! Great video :)
Thanks so much! 🤗
underrated
Thank you!
great board, solid from stock. just picked one up and its rock solid thoccy
Agreed, one of the only keyboards I've had that I felt didn't need any mods at all.
@@HarvindG Only thing I've now done is put akko lavender purples in, for some tactile feedback for typing. But this keyboard is legit amazing
You should have more subscribers amazing video

This comment made my day. Thank you so much!
Hey nice review. Do you know the actuation force of the switches?
Thank you! The CIY Evo Red switches: 42±5gf
@@HarvindG thank you for the response, awesome work
For $50 seems quite decent!
It really is! Surprised I didn't find out about this board earlier.
Great review. I just got mine and im wondering if I can buy additional keycaps for this model?
Yes! You can use any keycaps you want on this. I've tried some cherry profile and OEM profile keycaps without any issues.
So the key switches are heavier and / or scratcier than lets say cherry mx reds? thank you
Personally I feel Cherry MX Reds are scratchier and slightly heavier
love the video! i would love your opinion on the ciy gas67! im thinking on building my first keyboard with the ciy gas67 but im still not so sure

@@HarvindG awesome! thanks for the info! looking forward to that vid :)
Any ISO users here? I usually use ANSI, but this was a welcome change of pace.
Guilty as charged! I guess you don't really have a choice when you are taught to type on one though lol

My keyboard was rgb but when I got home it became red when I pressed on a key, how do I change this?
Fn plus delete
great vid
Thank you!
Thanks followed your vid for the mods and I also struggle removing the cable on the back too lol.
Can you change the rgb lights to a single color?
Seems no one has managed to remove the cable on this keyboard haha. I think you can change it to a single colour, but I rarely use RGB.
what are the best budget switches (lubed) in your opinion

Can you review the CIY GAS67 please, It’s a very budget gasket keyboard. I’m not pressuring you, but if you make a review on it I would be very happy.
Video of that coming out in August! 😎
@@HarvindG AYOOOOOOO
Haha, I couldn't get that cable apart either for the life of me.
That's a relief. Good to know I was not the only one!
That big enter button ruins it a bit in my opinion. But good keyboard!
That's the ISO layout for you. CIY also has an ANSI version of this on Amazon, that has the smaller Enter key. Thanks for watching!
I didn’t know that, thanks for letting me know
@@GreenMeteor_ You're most welcome!
that enter key angers me. I can't stand iso boards. sick video though man.
Thank you! I thought I'd dislike it too, but the small left shift key actually annoys me more in use.
@@HarvindG I have a couple of boards with 2u shifts, it's annoying. KBDFans LOVES having you use 2u shifts on their boards.

Check out the gas67 by keeb monkey!
I have it! Build and review vid coming up soon :)
