Skye, do you have more success with the rat traps or with #1 long springs?
I prefer the rat traps because they lay perfectly flat in the box and the weasel can’t get around them; sometimes the weasel can hop between the pan and a jaw on longsprings

So, what hole diameter did you use, and how high (bottom of box to bottom of hole)? Thx
I don’t have any specific measurements on how high from the box, but I tried to put it a few inches to keep some mice out. The hole diameter is regulated if you are checking the 4-day weasel requirement, I don’t know it offhand so you’d have to read it in the trapping regs, I think it’s 1 1/4”

Are their pelts worth anything? Just curious and nice setup. Personally I let them be as they are natures rodent super assassins. I actually try to lure one into my garage for the winter every year.
I sell them for about $20/each
@Skye Goode pretty sure trapping and selling these are illegal....I love them around my place they are the best thing to have for rodent control.
lol you are very incorrect, they are unlimited, unregulated, you don't even need a license to trap them on your own land, no bag limit, can be trapped year round. I trap out in the public forests where there's no need for "rodent control". But you keeping them around your place is totally your choice and "good for you" but your choices aren't really anything I care about.

Are you still using these ammo boxes, and are they still doing well?
Yep they hold up great! But no I’m not weasel trapping this season because we have no snow and the temps are in the 40s so even a weasel caught that night will spoil by the time I check in the day, I only weasel trap when it’s below freezing
@@skyed4no I have caught one this season using a wooden box but the ammo box setup was so smart I went out and bought some last night to set in the last two weeks before my season is over, lol
