You can read about the items near you... and if you read about the red flares it says it can spawn a megaladon if used right 😮... soo considering that 🤔 you can spawn the ghost megaladon if you know how to use those flares

i actually did farm legendary ships with john bardcores method but only to get the trinkets for owning 5 sloops, brigs and gallys bcs they looked cool next to each other on that one shelf next to the captains table on sloop

Or, alternatively, the fastest way I've found, launch one of the sea of the damned tall tales, and sleep on your ship's bed for a few hours. I've done this for a few of my ships, simply because I love the rogue cosmetics associated with that captaincy level. Doesn't make you money, but it's the quickest way I've found as long as you remember to wiggle your mouse to not get lazy bearded haha.

Destroying your ship to rename is not widely known. Once it's legendary you should commit. I played around with ship naming, apparently "&" sign is ok "+" not. Even though it looks cool in the preview.
There is a way to increase the number of ships in The Captain category in an unlimited way and without having to spend gold. I discovered this method accidentally, really. the only requirement is to captain a new ship (cannot be the first). all you need to do is “lose connection”, or “close the game”, and go back to the same session. each time you do this, the game will add a new captained ship to your goals. I discovered this on a day when I played for almost 24hrs in a row, but with a bad internet connection, after crashing and returning 7 times to the same session I noticed that the number of new ships increased. so I repeated the process until I had 20 ships… and it worked, even the achievement of having 15 ships was unlocked.
With the new update you actually only need 1250 provisions for a legendary ship. Plus getting these provisions is easy now that seaposts sell bait crates too. Although this strat would definitely make for a more boring video
Owning like 15 Captained ships in sea of thieves is like, playing AC black flag and capturing 15 pirate hunter man of wars to completely take over the routes in the fleet section of Black flag, i did not know that toxie knew of the old ways XD
