Can i have an inverter at home but with manual changeover. Means when grid power is present....the entire home is connected to that. When power fails....i will go and manually flip a MCB switch or something and only then the inverter gives power to the home. Yes i know...when power goes ill have to go and switch on in the dark etc...i have considered all that and found for my use this is best. Because my house has automatic gates....automatic garage shutter.....all stoves are induction...etc....definitely ill have to go for a 5kva inverter. I DONT WANT THAT. I want just a small 24v system and with maybe 2 600w solar panels. Because when power fails....i will reduce all my load items and then go and transfer to inverter. Till then the inverter can be like one of my home appliance...like fridge it will also be running on one side and charging up the batteries until i want to use it. When power fails i only want 2 fans n my computer to run. Else ill have to put a heavy inverter just to accommodate my regular load EVEN when grid power is present.
