I hope you realize how insanely talented you are. You're in the top 1% of drummers. I played for 20 years and couldn't play this if my life depended on it!
Thanks so much, man! Sorry that it took me so long to reply, youtube doesn't always notify me about new comments for some reason and I find them months after.
AMAZING! Kudos. I think it's the cleanest cover of Clockworks from what I've heard so far, and there aren't many. One question: From 5:13 there's like 20 seconds where I hear hi hat, but don't see you hitting one.
Sounds like it's a mini-china or a stack maybe? Look like he's set up most of his pads to have multiple zones, during that period he's hitting the edge of that tom which seems to be mapped to a cymbal. (: He's also doing some awesome stuff with his rightmost cymbal, looks like the edge trigger is a crash, and the bow trigger is a china. (:
@@DennisMartenssonOfficial You’re totally right about the mapping. I’ve assigned a splash cymbal on the edge of tom 1 and a stack on the edge of tom 2. And the cymbal on the right triggers a china on the bow and a crash on the edge, exactly as you said. Thanks a lot for checking out the vid!
I am absolutely stunned. You are uploading all these diccifult songs other the past years and months and I always ask myself "how the f did he learned that stuff so fast!?" I mean your skill is amazing and I can not tell if you are 15 or 25 years old, but your Skill-Level is like you only do Drums for like 30 years. Much respect to your commitment and love for this instrument and the songs you are playing. It would be very inetersting to see, how do you practice and how do you learn new songs, especially the Meshuggah stuff.
Thank you so much for that! I’m actually thinking of doing this type of a video where I show some of the practice methods since more than several people asked for it. And also, since you’ve mentioned it, I’m turning 18 soon and have been drumming for around ten years now. 🤘
@@FryderykSzolc ... Jeez man, you got not only huge talent then, but also a big amount of hard practice! Respect that you can Master all these Songs at such a young age. It would be nice to see your practice methods. I'm a drummer myself since 15 years and I'm already struggling with the first groove of Stengah, no comparison to your skill 😂
Great job. I actually took the time to transcribe this entire song on some music software so I could learn how to play it, but never got around to mastering it. There's a few parts that I'll definitely forget or slip up at because I haven't attempted to play it in quite awhile. The Violent Sleep of Reason is an album that I've been meaning to get around to learning more of the songs. Other than "Born in Dissonance" (which I play along to all the time because it's super fun,) I don't play along to this album very often. "Nonstrum" is a song that I really want to learn, I just need to put the time in to transcribe it and figure out some of the weird parts.
Thanks so much, man! Sorry that it took me a while to reply, youtube doesn't always notify me about new comments for some reason and I find them months later.
This is great! Super solid playing. Just a piece of feedback, the angle that's not the overhead shot should be capturing more of a profile shot of you playing. This way you get a more satisfying view of your playing but also your body isn't being blocked by as many cymbals.
Thanks a lot! In terms of the second angle, I actually put the camera this way so the cymbals don’t block the view of the other pads. If I had a second stand, I would love to put that one higher as well.
Very impressive. But please, anyone, WHAT is the pattern for the second part of the intro between the floor tom and snare, its the only part i cant figure out 😭😂
extremely clean! Great Work! Are you using a drum VST to control your v-drums? I've considered trying to find one for midi controls and covers like yours. GGD or Superior Drummer 3 perhaps?
Awesome cover, great playing!! I have the same drumkit and bassdrum. I was wondering how you anchor the bassdrum? When I use double bass on mine it bounces back and forth alot. Yours seems like it's not moving at all.
Thanks for your feedback! I’ve had similar issues with the bass drum pad moving before. You just have to make sure your drum mat or rug is laying nice and flat on a steady surface. Then anchor the pad down with the two screws and it should be good. Here I also put a piece of cardboard between the rug and the mat to prevent the screws from going through the rug.
amazing job, just incredible discipline! I was wondering how to post a meshuggah cover to youtube without getting copyright struck. Would I just need a mechanical license?
Thanks man! The whole learning process probably took me several months. First, I keep listening to the track until I know most of it by heart, and sometimes it can take months of just listening. Then it's just a matter of figuring out the patterns on the kit, and getting up to speed with playing the entire track.
first, great, great, great playing. I am very impressed. Some tiny tiny feedback. If you listen to the record and watch Haakes playthrough you can hear and see that the snare rolls he does before the all snare build up. You do the same time for all of them 03:55 while Haake does double time on the last two ua-cam.com/video/axGn6qeJHcM/v-deo.htmlsi=jUv5vuNc7as5UUQO&t=235 other than that great plying keep it up.
@@FryderykSzolc i have been listening to meshuggah everyday since 1993 and seen them live 11 times, so im super super nerd, so dont take my feedback as critizism, your playing is top notch! dont let anyone tell you different, im super impressed!
Thanks a lot for your feedback! The snare did turn out sounding this way because I wanted all the ghost notes to stand out among the accents since there is a lot happening in the track. So I kinda wanted to achieve that contrast.
New achievement unlocked
