Great recommendation Greg. I just tried the food today and it was wonderful. Just wanted to let u and your viewers know, this stall does not let u order just hakka noodles alone for $2.80. U have to pair it with either char siew or roast pork which pushes the price to about $4.50. I ordered the char siew/ roast pork combo set for $5.80 and the hakka noodles with char siew for $4.50 for a total of $10.30, still a reasonable price for such good food. Also bring your own container to tapau the soup, u can't take the soup if u don't as they do not provide container.
Aww, that’s a pity! Strange though, because they have it listed as an option! Lol. Anyway I’ve pinned your comment to give the vlog some context. Thanks!
You are the best!! I have watched Seth Lui, Mark Wiens, The Food Ranger, Luke Martin, and The Best Ever Food Show and none of them give as detailed comments on the food as you do. Your descriptions with the history, the funny bits at the beginning, and the amazing music are wonderful. The only thing I can't figure out is why more people don't watch your videos. Keep up the great work!
Yes, a natural, photogenic, charismatic, honest, professional yet friendly approachable manner. Now, now Greg, not let it get to the head or u won't get past the door!!! Only joking!!!
If you haven't, can review Whitley prawn noodles also at old airport road. It's one of my favorite prawn noodles and I'll like to hear your views on it
There’s a stall just like Roast Paradise at AMK 560531 it’s called Sin Cuisine. Shorter queue and i would say the chili is better there, hope whoever reads this give it a try
Hey Greg. Great to see you back. Canadian winter is dragging on and counting down the days to when we can travel back to Singapore. Keep up the great work.
So many things to be happy about, a huge 100 episode, glad you're back and back to the old airport road fc. Stay safe - you, Mrs and the girls. Greetings from your friend in Chiang Mai!
New Greg Leow video! Much rejoicing!!! I hope you and your family are keeping well in Singapore during these trying times. Looking forward to the future where the next 100 videos can come out in a better post-COVID world!
Hi Gregory, I have been watching your videos regularly and enjoyed all of it. Your last video was two months ago. I guess you were probably busy or on hiatus. Anyway, just a suggestion, maybe you'd like to do a vlog on one of the famous Nasi Lemaks of SG? Like the ones at Punggol, Chong Pang or Boon Lay.
I looked at the char siew and it do look like more of the pork belly than pork shoulder as pork belly’s fat is more consistence than shoulder and hence the melt in your mouth .... good channel I watch a lot of them
We missed you, Gregory. I hope you and your family are well. I love a Char Siu. I never had Char Siu with noodle before, so I will definitely try that combo the next time I visit Singapore.
Ive eaten at Fook Kin a few times & agree that the char siew is to die for! 🤤 Wow ... Chicken rice with Char Siew! I'm going to try this Old Airport stall very soon Thank you Greg for the fantastic review ❤❤❤
Hi Greg- great video. I grew up in Singapore in the 80s. Your videos bring back wonderful memories that warm the cockles of my heart here in snowy Denmark!
The noodle looks more like Mee pok . This is not Hakka noodle. Hakka width size is in between Mee kia and Mee pok. Go check it out at Syed alwi road coffee shop selling Hakka beef noodle or at Koo Kee. Please stop saying Hakka noodles when it's not.
Yeah, Roast Paradise is pretty good. But the funny thing is, I've talked to some of the char siew stalls and they say it's easy to do what Roast Paradise did because their cut of Char Siew is the fatty parts which is much easier to be tasty. The real 'kungfu' is using lean cuts and making it tasty. However, a layperson would not know that so they prefer the Roast Paradise fatty version instead which if you think about it is kinda sad.
Just tried it, the gravy waa way too sweet for my liking. Roast pork had crunchy skin but the meaty portion was lacking in flavour. It's really about the char siew here, though I still prefer the tougher cuts of meat.

Agree on this.. you have your charm.. one day you should do Malaysia stalls or somewhere around south east Asia . think your channel will blow up

Hey Greg, do you have any cooking experience? If you do can post some vids of you cooking?
Ha, yes but not enough to teach. I’m still learning myself 😅
Will definitely need to go there 😀
Congratulations on the 100th episode! Can’t wait for more to come!
Roast Paradise. They pick their meat very carefully...
I should probably try this soon!

I know 😕. I’ve had a lot on my plate lately
@@GregoryLeow Welcome back Greg :).

Caught your interview on the Singapore Noodles podcast.

I see Greg I click like, and I tell my gf we need to eat there even before I finish watching the video.
Yay! new video
So long and finally!! miss your video!!!!
Happy new year and welcome back!!
Was there today. Siew Yoke didn't have the crunch. (perhaps cos it was later in the day?)

Missed your videos!
Have you tried You Kee XO's and One bowl's (closed now. was at sultan hotel)? if yes, how does they compare?
Those Char Siu is most likely to be pork belly without the skin. 不見天 is very limited in quantity and too expensive for most hawkers.
Ah yes, you’re probably right. I’ve pinned your comment to give the video more context! Thank you 🙏
@@GregoryLeow 😃 stay safe!

Caramelized they say, the marination must be sooooo goooood. Love a good char siu that was roasted with TLC.
Stingy servings!
you're back!

Glad to see you back, Greg! Al fresco 100th episode!
I totally agree about the siu yeok. never really know how good it’s going to be that day
Ive eaten at Fook Kin a few times & agree that the char siew is to die for! 🤤
Wow ... Chicken rice with Char Siew!

Thank you Greg for the fantastic review ❤❤❤
Welcome back!
I have Fook Kin once a week, didn’t know they were related! 😅
Welcome back
So would you travel from Clementi all the way here?
It's been too long Greg! Soooo glad to see that you are back.😁
Hey greg. Good to see you back. I saw you and fam on the bus alighting at chong pang for dinner last week of dec . Wanted to say hi but was afraid 😂
hey greg! what do you think of 88 Hong Kong Roast Meat Specialist
as compared to roast paradise? which one do you think is nicer?
Every time I am in SG I go out of my way to get the roast pork there. The Char Siu is ok and have had better. Key is to get there right at 10:30 am !
Hi Greg- great video. I grew up in Singapore in the 80s. Your videos bring back wonderful memories that warm the cockles of my heart here in snowy Denmark!
I'm a simple man, I see Greg pop up on my feed, I click.

yes true, shoulder char siu is the hardest to do it best

Now covid can self-service soup one meh?
Your videos recommending foods too outdated.. Many doing that store already.. gonna sign u out bro.peace
I tried ....its horrible...n sibei hao lian...
Never go back there again.
88 can beat them hands down.
Uncle loves bubble tea like Steve Chia?
Uncle’s kids love bubble tea so uncle no choice 😆
@@GregoryLeow I feel u.... 🤣
Le Char Siu est beaucoup trop grillé, carbonisé même, ils servent sans enlever les parties cramées ? Ce n'est pas bon pour la santé, ça.
Don't think it is Hakka noodles as the stall assistant replied, "Chao Zhou shao rou mian" when you gave your order, Greg.
yeah I was wondering about why the stall assistant said "Chao Zhou Mian". the sign at the stall says "Hakka noodles" lol
@@GregoryLeow Haha! Got me confused too as mee pok is more teochew than hakka. Happy CNY from a fellow foodie in Japan!
How can you eat so much and not get f.... :D :D
I wear loose clothes 🤣
@@GregoryLeow Which brand do you buy, I will get the same :D :D
Its okay lah if u r living nearby, willing to queue up & portion miserable
