Papyrus says 'Be nice to people made out of strange materials' Why does he consider snow strange? His home is always surrounded by snow. He sees it everywhere.
My theory is that the snowman was built by Asriel and Chara and some how. Charas determination flowed to that snowman. As we know so far they were best friends so the love spread to the snowman
...why does everyone pretend to not understand me... toby/whoever made him put him in the game just so the snowy areas can be more alive... im not going to say anything else

Frisk: eats snowman piece on accident Chara: OHHHHH YOU JUST BROKE HIS PROMISE Frisk: (opens up reset screen) Chara: wait what are you doing Frisk: (hits true reset button) Chara: WAIT NOOOO
Over time, while thinking about Gaster, I realized something that surprises me even now: If you look in the game's files, you'll see that the EXP gained from killing him is negative. As in, the thing synonymous with evil and killing innocents is lost with killing Gaster. No matter who it is (excluding Asgore and Flowey), it's pure evil to kill. Yet apparently, killing Gaster would be a good thing to do. The other statistics he has are all 6's, too. Could this mean he's the Satan to the Annoying Dog's God? If so, then Gaster must have committed a heinous taboo, something so horrible, so unforgivable, that the dog tore his very essence apart, rending him across space and time, torturing him eternally as a specter that could only watch a world where he never existed.
Well we learned that you need a human soul and a monster soul to cross the barrier. It made sense that the snowman piece had determination due to it not melting so it was created by someone and was given DT. The snowman gives you part of his soul to cross the barrier; which is why it gives you the extra bonus of hey you made a snowman very happy. It means you actually crossed back out of the Barrier and into the human world.
I got a theory for you about undertale. what if the experiments, the savepoints, the random monster fights, the reason the other 6 humans didn't reset and why frisk didn't reset out of the hole are all connected. First if you got filled by determination by for instance seeing a city or fighting a friend, you whouldn't need to stay a specific place. What if the experiments leaked determination and that is allowing you to save. That could explain why some monsters get determined to fight you without knowing you are a human and having no reason to fight. Also if you are only able to save a puddles of determination that whould explain why frisk didn't reload to get out of the hole, frisk can reload, but have no save point to go to. Also if the experiments started leaking afther 6 souls got collected the other humans whould not be able to reset, because they had no save points. That might also be how flowy can save, flowey just needs to have a root at a savepoint.
Yeah that makes a lot of sense- if flowey can save, and he has determination injected/spilled onto him, why wouldn't frisk? And what made floweys ability go away when frisk beat him-
MusicalMatt Because the snow man piece doesn't Melt, or heals so much HP, or is a human thing, or makes papyrus sad, or any other point he brings up. Yes I'm fun at parties.
I think the snow heals so much to tempt the player into eating it. Also, neither the snow nor the nice cream melts in your inventory. This implies the inventory is special, not the snow.
Frisk and Chara had the power to reset, but clearly the other humans didn't. Maybe each soul had their own individual power. Maybe the Orange soul had the ability to spread their determination to others and built a snowman that was brought to life using said determination. The Snowman is made up of 3 stories which is taller than a child so the child would have to be determined to construct it. That and the Snowman has attachment to the overworld being that he wants to see it.
►Voltron Bugzilla◄ I've got to be honest, I always get Frisk and Chara mixed up so I just included them both. :/ The main point though still applies that each human may have used determination in different ways.
I believe in the first theory, but instead, he ISN'T an amalgamate. What if he was the result of the orange soul dying and possessing the snowman after he built it? Like you said, only humans would know what a snowman even is, seeing as monsters are shown to simply make snow versions of themselves, like snowdogs and the snow papyrus?
3:00 "Dog Residue also heals health". Not exactly. Using "Dog Residue" does not directly affect the user's HP. It merely fills all empty slots with a random combination of Dog Residue and Dog Salad. Dog Salad heals health.
you gave up on the most likely answer half way through. he's a determination experiment. that's why he doesn't turn to dust. neither does flowey. the only difference is one has emotion. so maybe Ice-e was seemingly a failure, then when snowed back down, the human showed kindness, and Snowman grew to love from that. the isolation made it grow more grateful of every little thing in the underground. alphys/gaster didn't know they had succeded in making an emotional determination creation. but they did. and they never knew.
I remember watching you months and months, maybe years ago. You were so small. Now that I come back, you have 100 thousand subscribers! You did an incredible job, mate. I hope you keep going strong!
The snowman is left all alone underground, but can still see everything Frisk is doing. I like to think that Flowey, alone and sad, comes to snowman and asks what Frisk is doing, listens to their happy story, and breaks down crying saying "god... i miss them all so much..." and then the snowman is there to comfort him.
the difference between flowey and the snowman that makes it unlikely he was a player in the determination experiments is that flowey wasn't just a flower injected with determination. the flower was pollinated by asriel's dusty remains and so asriel was revived in the form of a souless flower. Unless there was *another* monster who *also* happened to die on snow and was *also* injected with determination, I don't think that's the reason the snowman is sentient
I think the snowman was built by BRAVERY. But after they died, their soul still lingered. We know that BRAVERY's soul was captured because we see it with Asgore, but maybe, This is a bit out on a limb here, but just maybe, BRAVERY's soul spilt in two or fractured at some point, and closest thing to BRAVERY that wasn't already alive was the snowman. Or, maybe the part of BRAVERY's soul went into the snow, and then maybe monster kid build the snowman out of this snow. As far as modelling goes, M.K could have modelled him after one of his parents? After all, we never actually see them in the game. And, another interesting detail about the snowman is that he has no arms. M.K doesn't have any arms either. So if M.K's parents look like M.K, then he could possibly have built the snowman after his parent/s out of BRAVERY's soul snow.
Perkermern God ! He uses legs, But his legs aren't long Enough to build more details. Maybe his parents had clothes, But He Couldn't find a way to build those.
Notice how when Frisks soul dies when they are killed, it disintegrates and splits. Maybe for the soul of bravery, the soul was slowly splitting and hanging on for life. when it was splitting, fragments of the soul were lost into the snow and thats what brought the snowman to life?
I think the Opposite is true sometimes in Undertale. A lot of characters that get a strange amount of attention in the game mean nothing. Onionsan for example. You're forced to interact with them for a decent while, yet they undeniably have no backstory or meaning, evidenced by Toby himself having no memory of why he EVER created him.
Honestly, how would people know what a snowman even is? Even Nightmare isn't exactly a snowman, although he kinda resembles one. My theory is that, yes, one of the human children before Frisk built the snowman, as monsters don't even know what a snowman is. They just make sculptures of themselves or snowdogs or something. Heck, so many monsters, like Papyrus, Monster Kid, and some NPCs think or blatantly assume your a monster, since they have never seen a human since they have probably not liven long enough to even see one. Now why Papyrus on the phone call says that it's a snowman, he doesn't know what a _man_ is, he just calls you human, not man. Perhaps one of the children before Frisk told Papyrus, probably the ones who got past him (For example, not Patience since they died in the Ruins) but Papyrus not knowing what it is just calls it by that, like how kids sometimes use words they don't even know the meaning of just to sound cool or something and maybe Papyrus is doing the same, since he does act like a child. He has a car bed, a cool dude and jogboy outfit and *_sexy_* cartoon action figures. Perhaps while one of the children was building the snowman, some of their DETERMINATION seethed through it and made it alive, as we may know all humans, no matter their trait, (including Boss Monsters, for example Toriel and Asgore, which are the only two at this point) have a little bit of DETERMINATION inside of them, which is why they persist after death for a few seconds. However having DETERMINATION as a core trait is powerful, as it grants you saving, loading, and resetting capabilities. The other children had little DETERMINATION, which is why they couldn't save or reset and which is why their dead while Frisk can retry as much as they wish, since their DETERMINATION will keep them alive in this world. We even see this with Undyne, and Undyne the Undying. Or, a human child could've just built it and a ghost possessed it, as we have learned ghosts can do that, as with Mad Dummy, Mad Dummies cousin in the Ruins, and Mettaton. Or it could just be a complete joke like Bob. Or it could be just a legitimate snowman and we're really trying to scrape the bottom of the barrel for more Undertale lore so it doesn't die :P This theory is based off of other theories but I enjoy it nevertheless ^°^
What next? *Scoops up a bit of snow in hand and glares at it* THIS PIECE OF SNOW IS WHY THEY'RE ALL TRAPPED UNDERGROUND AND THE HUMANS DIDN'T EVEN TOUCH GODDAMN ASSGORE? THIS PIECE OF SNOW IS THE MEANING OF LIFE? THIS PIECE OF SNOW IS WHY I WENT BACK TO DOING ANIMATIONS? THIS PIECE OF SNOW IS MY MUM?..basically what I'm saying is, the snowman theory iswtf am I trying to say, I'm just describing endless possibilities of this piece of snow -_-
I feel the Snowman's 45hp of healing is just an incentive that is there to make you use it. Sort of an ethics decision, either grant the snowman's wish or keep yourself alive
What if the after mentioned orange soul built the snowman, but then some of their soul was put into it accidentally and the power of their soul brand it to life after that human left.
the snowman is a demon soul trying to escape from the locks of the barrier if you take a piece of him you are inevitably ending everything without knowing it if you eat the piece you are just carrying the demon in a new vessel not locked by the barrier.
my theory: I think Nightmare was that piece of snow sent into the core, and it got the Gaster treatment, meaning it was erased from existence, like Gaster. That's why it can only be seen on a certain FUN value.
I'm not saying this is a bad theory, but there's something I'm concerned about. The orange soul couldn't have gotten to build the snowman in the place where it was. It was killed by Doggo or before that because you can't move for Doggo, and he moved no matter what. Btw great theory and please do more :)
Ok, I admit I thought this video was a joke when I first saw it, but, holy crap, you are really good at looking deep into basic stuff most other people would just look over, including me.
The snow man is very lonely, it asks you to take a piece of its own body and take it some where else, but in stead, you keep it with you and every time you eat it , it make you remember the snowman you met in snodin which is very heart touching and makes a lot of your hp go up.💓
I think +Bigbanana E meant a monster child, like Asriel or (unsurprisingly) Monster Kid. It would still have to be experimented on to come to life though, considering that Flowey didn't come to life until he was experimented on by Alphys.
Grace Shakhan wha...? about the war, what does this have to do with anything anyone on this chain as said? and about asriel, he was an example of a child monster, i never suggested HE built the snowman.
Maybe the Snowman is just a lot of Dog Residue (which has physics-breaking properties by being able to create copies of itself infinitely; maybe it can do other things too). If the Annoying Dog made it, that explains where the carrot came from (the Annoying Dog can create things, after all), since carrots never make an appearance in any other place in the game.
When the snowman gave me a piece of himself I took it over to the place with the nice cream shop but I clicked the option DROP and it said I discarded it. I wished I could pick it up again but it was lost forever. The snowman had no hope.
I like the determination experiment theory the most simply because you mentioned how flowey was just a regular flower brought to life and how the snowman doesn't turn into dust. Putting these 2 facts together, you see another similarity between flowey and the snowman, when flowey is killed, in both the neutral and genocide endings, he doesn't turn into dust, either he is destroyed or reverts back to a regular flower as does the snowman when ending as a lump of snow now inanimate too
The snowman is not the only the inanimate object which can talk, there are aslo the rock in the ruin, maybe it's just magic and this explain why it's so healthy. I love the fact that we can make theory with any detail, that developed the universe and make thing so intersting Good vidoe as always !!
Papyrus says 'Be nice to people made out of strange materials'
Why does he consider snow strange? His home is always surrounded by snow. He sees it everywhere.
***** My point is, he calls snow a strange material.
Well, then why should we consider it as snow? Maybe it's not actually made of snow.
German Eagle wow
Snow under the ground. That MUST be strange imo.
Blauer Medic Well, they must have had some kind of sun in the sky/roof, as that's whats required to make snow.

Huh, wow. O_O
Maybe he caused he human monster war, and betrayed the monsters in the war.
Actually, killing Napstablook does make you lose one exp point so does that means killing ghosts is a good thing?
That's a very interesting angle on Gaster. Honestly, I never thought of it that way before. Great analysis!
when the snowman is being destroyed in the genocide run, it sure looks a lot like the melty way that things get with determination
Yeah that's true, and with a regular snowman if you were to take a piece off in the wrong area, the whole thing would just collapse
Well we learned that you need a human soul and a monster soul to cross the barrier.
Or it could be just a legitimate snowman and we're really trying to scrape the bottom of the barrel for more Undertale lore so it doesn't die :P
This theory is based off of other theories but I enjoy it nevertheless ^°^
THIS PIECE OF SNOW IS MY MUM?..basically what I'm saying is, the snowman theory iswtf am I trying to say, I'm just describing endless possibilities of this piece of snow -_-
Biulu whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?
Finally somebody mentions *that* Fun event in a theory...
Maybe it's an escaped Amalgamation.
I feel the Snowman's 45hp of healing is just an incentive that is there to make you use it. Sort of an ethics decision, either grant the snowman's wish or keep yourself alive
Wow. I've never seen that "nightmare" thing
COLLIN STEWART
You have to go into the game's files and change something called the "fun value".
Actually the patch makes it so that the fun value is randomised with each reset
Alien Assassin
I haven't played Undertale in a while, so I didn't know about the patch. Thanks.
Alien Assassin I know about the "fun" value, gushers (gaster) etc, just not that
One of my new favourite theory channels
What if the after mentioned orange soul built the snowman, but then some of their soul was put into it accidentally and the power of their soul brand it to life after that human left.
I agree!
That's what I thought
But actually that can't be true, the soul is in Asgore's tube
Enrico Polez F Pinto not all of it -. O -.
On the first route, I mistook The S.Piece for the Nice Cream.
the snowman is a demon soul trying to escape from the locks of the barrier if you take a piece of him you are inevitably ending everything without knowing it if you eat the piece you are just carrying the demon in a new vessel not locked by the barrier.
Yeahhhhhh no.............. then why did papyrus call you about the snowman
my theory: I think Nightmare was that piece of snow sent into the core, and it got the Gaster treatment, meaning it was erased from existence, like Gaster. That's why it can only be seen on a certain FUN value.
Ice-E reminded me of Toon Town tbh...
Moon Light Ikr with his dog face! :D
He reminded me of Chucky Cheese..
*Damn my childhood* XD
I'm not saying this is a bad theory, but there's something I'm concerned about. The orange soul couldn't have gotten to build the snowman in the place where it was. It was killed by Doggo or before that because you can't move for Doggo, and he moved no matter what. Btw great theory and please do more :)
Maybe the snowman absorbed the human soul?
Mikey Simon
we can see the orange soul in a tube with asgore when he showed us the barrier though
snoguy: tree bals
boxguy: it's modeled after a human.
HOLY CRAP NIGHTMARE IS CREEPY 😱😱😱😨😨😨😵😵😵
XD nice one
If the bravery theory is correct,I think that the soul of bravery fused with his snowman
I honestly think you're looking into this too much.
When I got his piece I accidentally ate them
maybe the snowman IS the human, like flowey is asriel?
So by eating it we are sort of cannibals? Why not, I always ate the snowman pieces anyway.
Ok, I admit I thought this video was a joke when I first saw it, but, holy crap, you are really good at looking deep into basic stuff most other people would just look over, including me.
the answer is the snowman is a refference to the movie frozen which the character named olaf that is made by elsa and came to life
lol
Are you fucking serious mate
good troll
Don't eat Olaf!
The snow man is very lonely, it asks you to take a piece of its own body and take it some where else, but in stead, you keep it with you and every time you eat it , it make you remember the snowman you met in snodin which is very heart touching and makes a lot of your hp go up.💓
maybe a kid's dust was sprinkled to the snowman after the war and the kid built it
Bigbanana E humans don't usually dust, unless cremated.
I think +Bigbanana E meant a monster child, like Asriel or (unsurprisingly) Monster Kid.
It would still have to be experimented on to come to life though, considering that Flowey didn't come to life until he was experimented on by Alphys.
Clownpiece the war was above ground and Asriel died in a flower patch
Grace Shakhan
wha...?
about the war, what does this have to do with anything anyone on this chain as said?
and about asriel, he was an example of a child monster, i never suggested HE built the snowman.
Bigbanana E I thought only monsters turn to dust......
0:12 humble folks without temptation
I thik the snow man is frosty the snowman
Lonlely pango it cant walk frosty can
FIRE FOX KINGDOM! :3 IT'S DISABLED FROSTY!
Frosty needs a weird hat to live, the snowman doesn't, ITS NAKED
Ambilexious Lol you are correct
ITS DISABLED FROSTY THE SNOWMAN!!!!
B-but the 🎩
"A child may wear gloves to protect themselves from the cold"
Glove has *spikes* attached
Cold protection.. right
I think you're milking undertale a little too hard.
Soap of Doom
But it refused! XD
It's filled with Determination
Soap of Doom Just like COD, just like FIFA
but its been like 3 months since the last undertale video
If he made a 1 hour video with all his UT theories and never posted anything else, he would be dead.
The carrot is that “thread” it is still hanging on by.
how is it snowing
Eugene Mccaul reasons
Some caverns are so huge they can have their own weather.
Enrico Polez F Pinto name one place IRL
I got this from another comment, I can't name one.
Eugene Mccaul SnowFAKES
"All Of The Snow In Undertale Is Ice Cream" omfg i want to live there
mmm dirty roadside ice cream
i usually just eat the snowman piece infront of him
This is an amazing theory!
SWANKY PLZ REPLY
Howdy!
Thanks I am ur biggest fan u are mlg
Thank you.
***** At least he didn't come up with a lie saying he was poor or something. And seriously, that was rude.
+Kingjake41 THIS MAILBOX IS MINE, AND THIS TRIAGLNAL SIGN.
10 minute video about a snowman. This is amazing
You make alot of things make sense. What are you gonna do next? Sans is actually Papyrus's dad?
I like the determination experiment theory the most simply because you mentioned how flowey was just a regular flower brought to life and how the snowman doesn't turn into dust. Putting these 2 facts together, you see another similarity between flowey and the snowman, when flowey is killed, in both the neutral and genocide endings, he doesn't turn into dust, either he is destroyed or reverts back to a regular flower as does the snowman when ending as a lump of snow now inanimate too
Friend: who's your favorite Undertale character?
Me: the snowman.
Friend: wha- ohhhhh
The snowman is not the only the inanimate object which can talk, there are aslo the rock in the ruin, maybe it's just magic and this explain why it's so healthy.
I love the fact that we can make theory with any detail, that developed the universe and make thing so intersting
Good vidoe as always !!
when I play undertale, I love coming to Snowdin. it is so lovely and also, I kinda ate the piece at asgore fight. sowwy
That Snowman is just 'Chillin' there.
I'm pretty sure that it's just a snowman. Nothing special. Nothing heartbreaking. Nothing worth questioning.
I thought ice-ee was snowcap (without his cap....) BUT OKAY!
