      Hi. Thanks for the video. The Megascan Bridge does a nice job of opening the FBX files with materials with one click. However, what is the best way to save the models with materials so it's easy to reopen or reimport them into a new scene later? I have been just exporting the Megascan models as OBJ. It seems reimporting OBJ files is easier with material. Unless there is some addon or some easier way to reimport FBX with materials?

      I accidently installed the plugin while blender was open and now i get an error when i export, is there any way to fix this?

    For those who can't find the plugin in blender. This is *OUTDATED*. Now you just have to press export with blender running to get your assets. Thanks for your tutorial CGE, you helped me last year ;)

      You really should! Even if you're not good at 3D modelling, which is really easy to get into, you can use it to make scenes by just using the Megascans assets!

    Can't figure out to get this to work for months, I don't know where the Blender Plug-in is being installed, Bridge don't show me the path, so I can't figure out how to get th add-on installed neither in Blender? Anyone ?

      Bridge: If you click on "Edit" and then "Settings", there should pop up a window and the first thing is your "library path". Copy that and paste it into your files address thingy. From there you just have to click support, plugins, blender and then you should be there. I hope this works, only figured it out myself

      @Pietro Figura I have the same problem. found the init_.py thing, install the pluggin on blender and it showed nothing. (Blender 2.91)

    Downloaded bridge and I downloaded a file to blender and got no app sent over for blender to find my display is not like yours so maybe I missed something thanks its a great idea

    Hi, thanks for the video! I am having a problem with the EXPORT assets to Blender. Does It not work for the latest versions of Blender & Bridge? I am stuck at -video time --3:25- and after. I'm on a Mac plus the versions of both apps interface are kind of different. Thanks in advance.

    Bridge export doesn't support Blender 2.9 but Quixel do have a work around that has so far worked for me it's in the manual. First go with Bridge my cliff model doesn't have any displacement mapping set up.

      Livelink is not there after 2.8 it's now named as megascans alembic it's in import section jst enable the add-on and your 90 percent of the job is done

    I don't understand why the "MSLiveLink" file doesn't install correctly for me. it says installed in Bridge and everything but I can't find it what so ever. They removed the *copy path* option as well like like you used in the video :P

    Whenever i export an asset from bridge it shows exported successfully but the asset doesn't show up in blender. But when i go the shading tab in blender it's texture shows up in the materials. But still there is no 3d asset! For eg - if i export the wall you exported in this video, that wall wouldn't show up in my blender but the texture of the wall will, and then i can give its texture to any mesh. I'm using blender 2.9 and bridge 2020.3.3 pls help....i really don't know why this is happening :(

      Sounds like the model is there but it's either a long way from your origin, or it's really large or really small

    If you have an Epic game account, you can get *ALL* of the assets in Megascans for free! (for non-commercial use of course)

      Make sure to read their license for this - I believe the free access is for use inside of Unreal Engine and Twinmotion...

    Hey! Thanks for the video, I’ve been having so much fun with Quixel- but recently I have noticed lots of assets don’t work in Blender and are json files, which I am clueless about other than they seem unusable, at least with Blender- and Quixel is doing away with obj files on their newer assets. Do you or anyone else know about this? Thanks again!

    Some of these files work some don't, I noticed after downloading them many have the object or FXB file missing even if I have that format selected.

    This doesn’t work for 3.3
    Actually, Quixel doesn’t even work for 3.3. Matter of fact, It doesn’t even let me export to UE5 it only goes up to 4.7

    Hi Justin, I could not install the Bridge plug-in in Blender on a Mac. I opened a help ticket with Megascans and they quickly replied that their textures are for use with Unreal Engine and Twinmotion only. Using their textures in Blender may set us all up for getting sued. Heads up. (Despite this, Megascans has instructions on their website how to install the Bridge plugin into Blender. Go figure. Sounds like a TRAP! 🤨)

      It's not a trap at all. The FREE license only allows useage in Unreal Engine and Twinmotion. You simply need to subscribe to one of their paid plans if you want to use their assets in Blender. There is no useage of Megascans for free in Blender that I am aware of, but that doesn't mean their content can't be used in Blender

      You don’t need to be online just go to bridge and click on a small monitor icon in the corner which is local library from there you can click and export

    Hi Justin, love your videos. do you know anything about setting up models in blender for CNC. I designed a baseball diamond shaped crib board yrs ago in old version of C4D. Been trying for a long to somehow get that model CNC compatible.

    importing the material looks nothing like the thing in bridge. looks like dookie. i guess the material it creates in blender is extremely broken. same with houdini and redshift. what a nightmare something that should be dreamlike has become for me ahhhh

      I think it's much more likely that the UV mapping of the object you're using isn't set up properly?
