How to disable datatool system 3 alarm permanently / alarm removal

  • To put Datatool system 3 alarm in service mode first disarm the system same way as before riding your bike. With the system disarmed and ignition ON press and HOLD the smaller button on the fob until an audible beep sound is heard. The ignition can now be switched off. You should now be in service mode.
    (if for whatever reason you wish to leave the service mode press the button on the fob)
    In service mode your Datatool system 3 will make an audible beep every 15 seconds. To permanently disable(get rid of the alarm once and for all) follow the instructions from the video.

    You saved my life. I was just replacing an indicator bulb, and somehow in the course of doing that my datatool decided the bike was stolen or something. Every time it rearmed it started going off. Must have short-circuited or something. It got to the point where I even removed the battery in order to kill it and deal with it another day. 30 seconds after the battery was out, I get a double beep and the alarm goes off again. I was genuinely worried I was either going to have to go at it with a hammer and disable my bike on a permanent basis, or spend the night outside disarming the alarm every 30 seconds. Thank God (or you) it's off now!

    Just so everyone knows you must disconnect both the terminals not just the 6 pin one, but this does work great guide

    Thanks for this video it helped enormously. Got this to work on my Honda Pan. It works a treat. What the video doesn't tell you is to use a size TT10mm (Tamperproof Torx) Screw driver, which has a hole in it's center!
    Also leave BOTH the 6 pin & 8 pin connector blocks out (after - bypassing the 6 pin block 1&2 and 5&6 connections of the 6 pin block).
    Was a bit tricky getting the 6 pin block out. After I had finished I didn't realise that you must remove the 8 pin block as well. So the alarm kept going off again until it was disconnected!

    What a nightmare the s3 is. It's just started to go faulty and have to mess around to get the bike started.
    Just eating to get security bits and its being DISABLED. This vid has saved a lot of cash and head banging on the wall. THANKS

    you are a hero. I have a Triumph Daytona 955i which had a flat battery, I replaced the battery and the bike didn't want to do anything. The alarm sounded once, then stopped and the bike immobilised its self. Then i followed your advice and , hey presto bike is now running and perfect ready for a track day

    Thanks for this helpful video. I had a Datatool Veto plus on my Vfr800fi. This video inspired me to try it myself. I made the suggested bridge, and removed the rest of the unit. No more worries whether the datatool will leave me stranded, which happened once.

    As Dan said a year ago, unplug both the 6 pin and the 8 pin plugs and leave them unplugged.

      Yes, as Ben Davis, said....unplug both wiring blocks. I tried this mod couple of weeks ago on my 1050. I unplugged the siren and the 6 pin block, and bridged the four pins, and left my 8 pin block connected. However, the alarm still activated the indicators, etc. I couldn't find an inline fuse to disconnect the power source on my bike, so I then unplugged the 8 pin block (power) and it worked a treat. The bike now starts and runs just off the key. Happy days :)

    Thanks man, you are an absolute hero and just saved me having to put in the spare wiring harness I have.
    Bike was parked up for the last 3 years and the alarm would not respond to the fobs and pin override didn't work.
    I had to butcher the top off the alarm but my 2005 zx6r is now running again thanks to you 👍

    My S3 pissed me off so much, I haven’t used the bike in over a year.
    With occasionally not switching modes, not letting the bike start (the usual awkward place and time) then the alarm going off when I’m 300 miles away on another bike, thus driving the wife potty till I got back home.
    Never again..

    This also works for the data tool veto. Disconnect not terminal blocks put the pins in the 6 pin block as in the video. No plug or tab to remove. I also unplugged the siren in the data tool. And it worked to my surprise 😁

    many thanks for this,carried it out on my honda valkyrie trike as the datatool was giving me all sorts of problems,not any more with this fix,i got into the box and unplugged everything that was plugged in, i then removed the whole circuit board and binned it,all there is in the case now is the 6 pin block that has been bridged at both ends and the 8 pin block,the the speaker wire block and another bock.everything works perfect now ,no worries of being stranded anymore ,fantastic fix.

    Other "guides" I found before this said to short first and last pair of the *large* connector. Which was wrong.
    Mine was marked "Datatool Veto System" on the lid.

    I had an issue with my alarm and I have followed your instructions and completely disabled it thank God. I really appreciate you showing us how to so this as mine was becoming a pain in the arse and now its sorted. I didn't need to put it in service mode either as I just disconnected the battery and Happy days. Thanks my friend

    For those that want to remove the box and wiring this is how I did it.
    1. Trace the wires from the data tool box to the rear indicators and cut. (Just for flashing when Arming and disarming the alarm)
    2. Trace the wires from the data tool box to the solenoid Sat just behind the battery. They are red and yellow wires. Cut the wires that are connecting to these and reconnect the red and yellow wires together. (Data tool box controls wether bike can be started using these wires)
    3. Trace the black wire from the data tool box to the inline fuse remove the fuse and snip the wire so the inline fuse holder stays on the bike but without the fuse so it can’t short on anything. (This is where the data tool box gets it’s power)
    4. Locate the two blue and grey wires and snip from the data tool box loom. Reconnect the two blue and grey wires to each other.
    5. Unscrew the tamper switch at the rear and pull the full loom out.
    I did all this with the battery connected and alarm in service mode
    All was well for me bike starts everything works but as always do this at your own risk.

    Brilliant video, answer to my prayers, I bought a Blackbird earlier this year and the seller conveniently forgot to tell me the alarm was a PITA, the only problem I have is locating it, cant see it anywhere under the seat or back of the bike???? Cant be too many places this would be installed surely!

    excellent well done, imagine a company that provides an alarm system that is so easy for criminals to override but so hard and expensive for the owner to neutralise without compromising insurance or warranty, disgraceful crap from datatool

    Kind of worked for me on my GSX-R. I kept on hearing the alarm making a noise continuously (I'd disconnected the speaker) after bridging 1&2 on the 6 pin and thought this is going to drain the battery. After blowing the fuel fuse several times I decided to bridge ports 1 & 2 on the 8 pin and it worked a treat.

    Cheers buddy helped me out as my remotes were working but wouldn't switch off the immobilizer and alarm, eventually found the box and did what you said PITA systems always go wrong will attempt to physically remove it in time

    I have the datatool duo, no alarm just immobiliser unit that looks exactly the same as this. Is this the same procedure? Mine keeps rearming and cutting the bikes power like when you hit the kill switch? Cheers

    I did hear putting it in service mode first but this

    Hi, what screwdriver head is needed to open the alarm box to access the 6 pin white connector? seem to be star shaped but with a pin in the middle.

      maybe disconnecting the siren itself will work? Not sure if you'd have to bridge the diconnected wires. Was thinking of trying it

    Does this work on the data tool s4 green alarm I was told if I just unplug the 3 white connector plugs .. It will disarm and make it the alarm dorment.. And back to stock set up.. Just not sure about the black pin you had taken out next to the socket on in own if that has to be removed to.. Thanks

    hi there, did you disconnected both wires or just the one with the 6holes? i did the same process but i didn't unplugged the wire (8holes) and the alarm was still going on and on, but the bike was starting all the time even with alarm on (can you help)?????

    Did not work for me. Did you plug the plugs back in fully after bridging them? Also do you have to screw the lid back on? I tried it with lid off and the alarm is still fully active.

      You need to do everything he shows in video but also you need to unplug the 8 pin block too or the alarm just keeps active !

    Hi, I have bridged the connections shown but I don't have that little black connection you also said to remove. Anyhow I can now get the bike to turn over but still wont fire up. I believe I have a datatool veto on my 97 cbr600. Any ideas please.

      @@georgeevans9563 I took it to a main dealer who removed the datatool for me, From what I remember there was a damaged wire going to the starter. The person who fitted the alarm spliced into it poorly. I'd suggest removing all the wiring for alarm and join the loom back together. Taking car to look for anything damaged, if it is just cut it and rejoin.

    Can I ask, did you plug the 6 pin and 8 pin plugs back into their sockets or did you just leave them to one side?
    How long did the paper clip connections have to be, or put simpler, how far into the holes do the paper clip have to be in order to work?
    I have carried out the same work as shown in your video but the alarm will still arm itself when not in dealer mode.

      Hi bud. From what i remember i just neatly placed both white connectors in a position allowing closing the box,somewhat in their slots but not fully in if that makes sense.
      I reckon the reason it didn't work for you was the type of wire you used. Thin,silver paper clip wire isn't the best for that. Try using proper copper wire from old electrical cable. Those are a bit thicker and should work. In terms of lenght both ends of "U" clips that i made were about 1.5cm-1.8cm long. Hope this hels. Let us know if it worked this time.

      I unplugged both the 8 pin white connector and 6 pin white connector like you described along with the little black 'thingy', screwed the cover back on and now no more alarm!! Happy days.

    Sorry to be the one dissenting voice here, but I did this bypass today and the damn alarm is still screaming its head off...
    I would be interested to know what you used to bridge the terminals in the block connector, I used a bent paper clip, maybe it wasn't big enough gauge or something dunno tbh, it's a puzzle,
    In the end I just un-plugged the speaker from the board, I know this won't stop the battery drain, but at least I don't have to listen to it anymore.... damn thing must learn what you've done to it, because, now there's no chirp from the speaker, the indicators flash when arming/disarming... weird isn't the word ???
    Think I'm just going to have to cough up the £200+ to get it removed

      You can also just stop the beeping my disconnecting the speaker connector. It’s just a small plug that pulls off. This will mean the alarm still works and disables the bike if needed but it won’t make a sound, you will just have the indicators flash.

      Hi bud, not sure. I thought about that but sold the bike eventually so never got that checked. The disabling trick worked great anyway so at least it won't keep annoying you or draining your batt.

    I disharm mine turn on the ignition but the fucker reharms its self even though ignition is on

    Why would you show thieves how to disable your alarm once they’ve stolen it can you upload the vid of the day your bike got stolen and how devastated you felt knowing you had disabled the alarm system

      I would show thieves how to disable the alarm because they wouldn't even bother messing around with it. Instead they would just come with a van and put the whole bike in it completely disregarding the fact that it might an alarm. Alarm in a motorcycle is AN ABOLUTE JOKE. I could post a video showing how devastated i was seeing my battery drained because of it, or how pissed i was trying do maintenance of my bike with alarm yelling every time i disconnected the battery(which had to be done on some maintenance procedures). Or maybe you'd prefer a video showing devastated owner who is stranded in the middle of nowhere because the alarm has a glitch and bike is immobilised? Alarms in bikes is pure aggravation, hassle, waiste of money and finally ASKING FOR PROBLEMS !

      @@Adikxx well you might think that way but trust me my alarm has foiled two attempts on my bike and also even if your bike was shoved into the back of a van the alarm would spook any thief thats what they are there for

      @@jeffvaljean6030 If like me they would just want to rip it out to stop the infernal noise it makes. They would do A LOT of damage to your bike in the process. I think a bike ignition immobiliser, several locks and a tracker are a far far better deterrent to prevent bike theft and recovering your bike if stolen. These alarms especially Datatool are a PITA. I know as I have have an S4 alarm on one of my bikes. I hate it. It passively alarms every 45 seconds. Nightmare doing anything with this bike.

      @@alexmorgan3435 see now that I get I live in London and an I mobiliser is a must I get the annoying beeps but still I much prefer an alarm than to be without one
