    I am SOOOO devastated. I have alopecia, my hair was sooo beautiful and it was the only ONLY thing I liked about myself. I used to tell myself: "I don't have a nice body, nor a beautiful face, but I have a beautiful hair!" but now, now it is going to be gone because it cannot grow back like it was before, with the same thickness and the burn and pain sensation I feel is terrible. I cannot brush it because it hurts and it falls a lot.

    I have alopecia arearta but my doctor has never sent me to a dermatologist infact he told me that "men lose their hair all the time and they don't cry about it" and I should "learn to tie a scarf and live with it" no help, nothing 😢 I've found it so hard to cope with, nowhere or no one to turn to, it's a waiting game, I lost nearly all of my thick waist length hair within months..... Then it grew back and then afew years later I've got more bald patches again.... So I wait till I'm completely bald again with no medical help or intervention, what I don't understand is if its an auto immune disease then why can nothing be done? It's not natural for the body to attack its self so it must be reversible? There must be a reason for it happening? He says an auto immune disease but no help to correct it. Xxxxxxxxx

    • @RendonCenter
      @RendonCenter  6 років тому +28

      That is very unfortunate to have heard that as a patient. Losing one's hair can be a hard experience to cope with since it is a visual part of our bodies. Understanding the emotional toll associated with this condition is the first step a treating physician should take. Luckily, there are many ways of tackling Alopecia, many of my patients have seen regrowth but every case has to be analyzed differently. For this reason I would suggest you visit a Dermatologist ( or two) so they may suggest something your previous provider might have missed.

  • @joeq8098
    @joeq8098 5 років тому +22

    I dont understand why it is dermatologists that most people are sent to. This is an auto immune disorder, not a skin disorder..so why a dermatologist and not an endocrinologist? I've been trying to fix this from the inside out, rather than outside in. I take bamboo silica for biotin, I eat a plant based diet and take CBD Oil in order to reduce inflammation, and try to stimulate my scalp by dry brushing to encourage blood flow. I'm getting slow but steady results. Give it a shot, and let me know if this works for you! Dont give up hope. It may feel helpless at times, and over looked, but I think simply taking some form of action empowers your body to make a change for the better. Stay positive if you can. You're not alone.

Every one said a different story, tried different presedures and medication.I always hoped and believed it come back but... I'm really sorry for spending tons of money on them. I had a small spot alopecia the size of a small coin in Feb & consulted a dermatologist. She just recommended some hair growing shampoos & clobatasol & minoxidil.. But it eventually grew! I then consulted a trichologist & the treatments they gave made it even worse! I’m experiencing more hairfall now. I now consulted a new dermatologist and this time, she already gave me kenalog injection because my alopecia is spreading all over my head! And my hair just doesn’t stop falling & falling.. As much as I don’t want to be stressed, seeing all my hair fall a lot everytime I wake up & take a bath stresses me further.. It has become a stressful cycle..😭

    I wish this dermatologist would have demonstrated or showed a person actually with this disease on their scalp because my problem is I see white spots I shed a lot last year I'm used to it doing that in the winter months but this year it's been my worst year when I put oils on my scalp it tingles a lot and when I looked in the mirror I saw white spots in certain area but not here or loss like patches of spots just sitting here I wish somebody would answer me and tell me what is this supposed to be is booking now people with appointments to wear you can't just walk into a dermatologist you have to make an appointment which is 3 to 4 months at a time before you see a dermis.

    • @sable7114
      @sable7114 2 роки тому +1

      Yes I with textured hair like you may have have never had a dermatologist go through my scalp to even check for skin cancer and I go in complaining of alopecia and they act like they don't even want to touch my hair to look. Anything that is prescribed is not one-size-fits-all because they were so many different curl pattern types of hair that is not straight like the woman in this video. Sounds like you also need to start with a trichologist who will make certain that the right blood test are being done and who will send off a strand of hair to be analyzed to see what nutrients you might be missing or what medications you might be taking that could be contributing to the problem. when I have little white bumps little hairs start to grow out of them. It is probably DHT someone else mentioned and that simply means the hair follicles are miniaturizing making it hard for hair to come out and there are certain oils like the Rosemary essential oil mixed with a carrier oil or something like Rogaine which is pretty much the same now according to research but more natural one might help with that. Most importantly you must first determine the type of alopecia that you have.

I gave up the hair dyes and styling tools after people kept telling me how they can almost see my scalp from the top and around my bangs. I’ve been oiling my hair with castor oil and other stuff and taking care of it like crazy... I just hope it’s not something that’s permanent.

My hair shedding has dramatically reduced and I can already feel a difference in the texture and thickness. It also improved the texture of my hair and the softness.

    I would like to comment , that I feel it’s actually in very poor taste to use a model or patient with normal healthy hair to demonstrate what you would expect at an examination , this was not thought out well the demonstration could as easily be done using a short video demonstration or alternatively a manikin head with hair , I suffer alopecia ,and am also a trained practitioner in mental health (now retired ) I watched the demonstration and could not help thinking how beautiful assistants hair is ,and at one point the dr. Pointed out that she did not suffer from alopecia . This was oblivious and when said in such an approving conformation . This is no fault of assistant . But it alienates the potential sufferer from this condition , this is not s wholistic approach ,as women and men feel stigmatised by what it happening to them and with all due respect ,are fully aware they are in a club no- one wants to join . I think some alterations could help to improve approach . These are my thoughts ,and I understand others may not agree , but I think it would be interesting to hear others views on this . I say this not to complain but to hopefully encourage Thought about these issues and perhaps leading to change I know it’s a small thing but for a young woman ,to even start to acknowledge this is what is happening is very much connected to how she then views herself so the psychological effects are easily 50% or more percent of learning to live with this condition I’m sure you’re agree particularly as in most cases there is little that can be done .

      @@classicalkeynote7691 That's exactly how my story begins, seeing doctors in different states and countries with no results. Unfortunately doctors prescribe medicine that has less than 10% efficacy rate, meaning it only works (if it actually does) up to 10%. So their tool kit is limited and in addition, they don't give out diet and lifestyle advice, because they are not trained in nutrition, they are not trained in diet and lifestyle, and lets be honest, they make their money through pharmaceuticals and surgeries, not helping you make diet and lifestyle changes. Its unfortunate that not more people are talking about this, but that's exactly why I started Alopecia Angel, because I am living proof and so are my clients that you can reverse aloepcia and many other illnesses through diet and lifestyle. But no one is teaching us that, not in school, not at home, not our govenernments, its really up to each one of us to do the work and make those changes, because without change you will not see improvements or reversal.
