Love this video, calming background music, clear instruction dialog, great finish to the model. I have two of these kits, one with the launch bay and one without, I'll build one in flight mode and the other in pod selection mode. I may print my own decals for the side as they do look a little big. Thanks for sharing!
Built this model a few months ago. With the windows I treat them as darkened so just used a darker green across the entire rows so the paint went inside the recesses. Then wiped it off the excess from around them.
1:05 Actually, it ran from 1965-1966, 1964 was when it started production. Also when you were talking about the size of the decals it should be noted that the models used in the show were incredibly inconsistent with their details, so when making model kits companies just kinda have to choose a specific model to base it on or try to mix and match them to the best of their abilities. The techspecs were also incredibly inconsistent, you mention it's top speed as being 5000 mph but depending on what source you look at it could also be 10000 mph or 12000 mph. TB1 has a similar issue though not as bad, either being 12000 MPH or 15000 MPH depending on what source you go with, although some people have speculated that it's speed was supposed to be 7500 MPH judging from one line in the original series. As much as I love Thunderbirds, it has always been an incredibly inconsistent series.
Liked and subscribed. When you gave it 5 out of 5 for Legacy, I had to wipe tears away. "Thunderbirds" was Gerry and Sylvia Anderson's most popular of all of the Supermarionation series. But all of the Supermarionation series were so great - from "Supercar" to "The Secret Service" - and the brilliant model-making continued into the live-action programs as well. These programs hold a very special place in my childhood memories. Your videos are pure pleasure to watch and your comments are so astute. You are an excellent teacher. I am writing this in June 2023. Would you know if this Thunderbird 2 kit is still available and where one might be able to order it please? Thank you so very much for bringing us this video. Best wishes.
Very glad to hear you enjoyed it - my dad loved Thunderbirds when he was a boy and they were back on TV when I was young too so he made sure we watched them. I also have a couple of Captain Scarlet kits in the stash to build at some point. This kit should still be available as I got mine last Christmas. Here was where they bought it houseofhobbies.co.uk/product/bachmann-thunderbird-2-with-thunderbird-4-12655?gclid=Cj0KCQiAyracBhDoARIsACGFcS7n59k8vAt_o5x0M4IuO2VCNt_moMVNscOzvc-PpK_59t2MvC8nLaEaAgBgEALw_wcB
Thunderbird 2 was always my favourite but am torn with FAB 1 as I sat in the real car :) You've done a great job and the video will help me when I build mine, I'd like the FAB 1 but the kit doesn't look right to me when built up
Hi Just found your channel! I am a big fan of Thunderbirds and of course my favourite like you T2 and T4. A great video, which I really enjoyed so I have subscribed and will watch some other to start to catch up! If may ask where did you get this kit? was it an online model supplier? I would like to get one. Many thanks again for sharing and keep up with the excellent videos 🥇✨
Thanks very much for the kind words! My parents got me this for Christmas but they told me it was from this website houseofhobbies.co.uk/product/bachmann-thunderbird-2-with-thunderbird-4-12655?gclid=Cj0KCQiAyracBhDoARIsACGFcS7n59k8vAt_o5x0M4IuO2VCNt_moMVNscOzvc-PpK_59t2MvC8nLaEaAgBgEALw_wcB
Thunderbird 2 was everyone’s favourite. ❤ Just needs the bay and pods kit for display.
Yeah I was tempted by the launch bay diorama but I wasn't sure where it would go when finished
@@BOABModels This is my problem. I already have 20+ bookcases.
Glad it scored well. Enjoyed watching that, those small vehicles would challenge most people!!👏👏
Thanks so much for getting it for me! Yes, and there's another set with around 15 tiny vehicles!
very cool build I enjoyed this show and now I need to add this build to my list! thank you!
Thanks for watching Dean. It's a lovely little kit.
Great job, I too am a Thunderbird 2 fan. I have the regular model that you show here and the transparent model.
Oh nice. I like the look of the transparent one too
@@BOABModels Do you have a video on the transparent T-Bird 2 build?
Absolutely love it, you could say... you've done a Fab one!
Haha! Thanks mate. These build up really nicely. You can tell they were made in Japan!
I’d love to see a thunderbird 1 or 3 one day! Edgar to find my own to build after watching this
Thanks very much, Jacob. They do the others in a few different scales I think and there's even a double set of 3 and 5.
Ive seen these kits at my local hobby shop and debated buying this one as Thunderbird 2 is my all time favourite of the lot
I'm very happy with how this turned out. I believe all the TB2 kits are the same tooling whereas the other ships come in different scales.

Thanks so much, it's really appreciated! I hope your builds go well. I'm thinking of getting TB1 with the launch bay myself.
Great job! Really nice detail work on Thunderbird 4; that's going to test my patience 😁
Thanks a lot! I was actually getting over COVID when painting that so I made some mistakes with it too!
Nice build 👍
Thanks Dave
The original Imai release did not have the clear window piece so Aoshima should be praised for adding that to the kit.
Oh really? Yeah that does make a difference
Built this model a few months ago. With the windows I treat them as darkened so just used a darker green across the entire rows so the paint went inside the recesses. Then wiped it off the excess from around them.
Ah good idea. Have you made any of the other Thunderbird kits?
Looks good !

Loved that thanks
You're welcome!
I can't wait,,,,
Thanks Shaun.

Dagestani has one out 🤔$$ but it's a 1/144 scale and it looks bigger than yours at 1/350? Yours looks smaller. But I like it.
Yeah, this is definitely smaller than their one. To be honest, I wouldn't have room for a 1/144 TB2 model!
Thunderbird 2 was always my favourite but am torn with FAB 1 as I sat in the real car :) You've done a great job and the video will help me when I build mine, I'd like the FAB 1 but the kit doesn't look right to me when built up
Thanks very much - good luck with yours. I think it's a shame that the FAB 1 kit is in 1/32 too as it's not as popular a scale now.
I have a video of the fab in scale 1/18
👍👍🇧🇷🇧🇷
Obrigado!
Does the pod have to be glued in, or can it be removed and the door opened for TB4
You can remove it. It will stay in place without glue although you need to be careful when taking it out.
Понятия не имею что ты такое собрал, но интересно
Haha. It is from an old TV show - 1960s.

@@BOABModels thanks so much for the details, much appreciated 👍

Looks like it is a a distraction for the drivers view no thanks
