The new TK-02 from Terra Kaffe has arrived. Lets unbox and set up this super automatic espresso and drip coffee maker. I am very excited about the milk frother too!

Thank you! :) I appreciate the comment. Yes, you can hit the brew twice button. You can set it to 6oz for the drip and hit it twice for 12oz. :)

@@bryceheltzel3923 no, just that one time and I’ve refilled it twice already with no issues. It’s a tight seal and I believe I didn’t push it in all the way in the first time.

Came here with the same question re drip coffee. Thought it was strange the largest setting was 8 oz. I have been brewing twice at 6 oz like you said and it’s great. Really happy with the machine so far after 3 days .
Steev, thanks for making this video for the community! This is the first real review that I have seen from a customer. I just got my invoice last week and paid it, now I'm just waiting. My Black TK-02 is going to be replacing an ancient Jura Impressa E8 that is currently on serious life support. :)

@wooshkey between the very loud clicks during operation, plastic off gassing smell, extremely large amounts of water being used DAILY, recipes that are backwards, cumbersome milk prep and tube clean up I figured it wasn’t worth it. I was throwing out filtered water daily because the drip was full. And that was the short list. It looks nice, a little long though, but it really needs some UI polishing and better communication from TK re: issues and updates.
I have been waiting seems like forever for mine. I see now there might be hope!

Nice unboxing. Just received ours yesterday. Had the same issue with the water tank. Needed to shake it the first time to get the water level ball to raise up.
Still on the fence about the machine. Thought it would allow a 16g shot based on what I read earlier on, but only can do 14g. Also, when I asked earlier on how large of milk drinks you can make was told you can make them as large as you want, but the max setting is 10oz. The strange thing is when set to 10oz of milk, it doesn't use all the milk from the container that is measured to 10oz. So either the container numbers are wrong, or it doesn't actually do full 10oz when chosen. The milk does froth nicely though.
Another thing I noticed was you can not change the grind size when choosing drip.
For reference, I do also have a Breville semi-auto espresso machine with a separate grinder and also a Philips fully auto machine. My hope was to get a fully auto that was better than the Philips, producing better shots and larger milk drinks. The real drip coffee option was definitely something that also pulled me towards this machine.
I noticed a lot of those things too. I’m hoping a software update will change some of the settings. My milk dispenser works fine at the levels I’ve programmed.
@@steevthetechCan you test setting milk to 10oz for a latte and then filling the container to 10oz and seeing if it uses it all. I filled mine to 10oz and after the drink was made the container still had a little over 5oz left in it.

Thanks for the review. How does the drip coffee taste? And how much grounds are produce? Do you have to empty the grounds after each cup or 2 or can you empty once every few days?

Steev question about the TK-02: it goes into sleep mode after a period of time. It also takes quite awhile for it to brew a cup of drip coffee. If I want to start a cup of drip from the app say while I'm getting ready for work in the morning, there obviously needs to be cup under the dispenser. When the machine wakes up from sleep mode, it seems to purge itself and will dispense about 2 oz of water into the cup. What is the point of that; it ruins the cup of coffee. So basically you can't start your coffee from the app. You have to wait for it to purge, then put another cup under the dispenser. Am I missing something here? Thanks.
You can set up a brew in the morning via the app and it will not do a pre-rinse. I would reach out to TK if that doesn't work as they just pushed a firmware update to the machines and a software update to the app.

I paid my final bill on 11/19/23 and it arrived 1/6/24. If you ordered a black machine, it might take a little bit longer, because the first pallet of machines they received were white.
Pre-ordered mine 12/22, paid invoice 12/23, receiving mine this Wednesday 1/24/24.

Just got mine today also. I had the TK-01 and the coffee produced with this machine seems (so far), much better. the strength has improved quite a bit (was always a little weak on the TK-01 for me). Its a bit of a learning curve with all the options for settings on the profiles and such, but that's a good thing, even though it will take time to get it dialed in.
What did your guests think about the drip coffee the next day?
Did you figure out what the dial was for on the top of the filter?
The dial is a milk knob. If you toggle it up, you get hotter milk and if you toggle it down you get frothier milk.
Guests loved the drip coffee. There’s some creama to it but it may be the beans I’m using.

Hey Steev, Do you have a 'long term' review now that you have lived with the machine for a month? I'm curious if you feel that it is worth the price. I am awaiting shipment of mine, and am seeing a lot of mixed opinions online and very few in-depth reviews. Thanks!
No long term review. I retuned my TK-02 and my search for a super automatic continues.

@cmys001 it has its pluses and minuses and that being said it’s really down to personal taste and heat of your coffee. they do have return windows just make sure you don’t make a ton of coffees or they won’t let you return it.
My espresso for the machine has been coming out very sour. Do you remember the settings you used for it? Before I decide to return it back
I sent mine back but never got sour pours. I’d try resetting your machines settings, clean out your water tank and replace the filter in the tank too. You can attempt to brew at a cooler temp.

How easy would you say the machine is 1-10?
I’m a newbie but once you brew a few drinks it’s pretty easy. I just wish the app was more intuitive and helpful with setting up profiles and drinks. The user manual leaves a lot to be desired as it doesn’t go into great detail on how to clean parts of the machine especially the milk hose.
There are a TON of customization for drink preferences. A little intimidating for a new user. You have to do some trial and error and start with the standard settings and move from there. I googled some settings for other typical espresso ratios and drink type ratios to start mine. Still will be a work in progress as I think if you change beans you might want a different setting. Considering a few espresso configurations for individual bean types but have to see how it goes
How is the temperature of your drinks? When i make a shot of espresso it comes out at about 128 degrees fahrenheit. When i do hot water, the water temp is 150. All my latte and cappuccino are luke warm. The milk steams hot but the espresso is always not hot. It's quite disappointing. I contacted support
I should take the temps of the drinks but we’ve all been happy with them and the temp. My guests are very happy with everything so far.
@@steevthetech I've made about 30 drinks. And the hottest drink I've got out of it was 150. I may try to reset the machine back to factory and re set it back up. Maybe it will fix the issue. Or hopefully support can assist.

My drinks are coming out hot! Measure the temp mid stream while it is pouring into the cup.
Steve I just got mine and the milk comes out lukewarm. Are you having the same?
Yes, I usually run a hot water pull and that heats everything up rapidly.
