    Great video and super helpful! I have the same van and am planning on doing pretty much the same bed set up as you.
    I really like the idea of leaving the velcro off of the furthest forward beam to be able to convert into a single bed. Great idea! Love all the storage space the Skorva beams allow with not having to put in support legs.
    I'm going to try to leave about 10" between the bed and the rear doors to put my mountain bike. Cheers!

    I went to the customer service counter at IKEA in Sunrise, Florida. They didn’t have any in stock but they asked me how many I wanted and shipped them directly to my house for free. Took about 10 days to deliver.

    Wish I could post a photo. It looks great! Last step is putting in the "security screw." Did you have to drill new hole in the bracket for the security screw?

    • @MikeAndTheGreatOutdoors
      @MikeAndTheGreatOutdoors  2 роки тому

      Yes I had to make a new hole for the security screws. I used self tapping screws. Congrads!

      I'm heading to ikea to buy the telescoping rails for my e-150 now. I had a hunch the slats might better than plywood. When I found your video I was glad to know I am on the right path with building my bed. Thank you!🤸🏼‍♀️🤸🏼‍♀️🤸🏼‍♀️

    Did removing the plastic panel over the AC make the van any louder when driving? Like does all the stuff jingle around more? I have been afraid to take mine off in case I screw anything up in the HVAC section.

    What's the length? Looks too short to do a horizontal bed maybe 55-60in? Cot is 70in and twin is 75in in length.

    Seems like the bed would be more than 54 inches wide with two sets of twin slats, but I guess it is because they overlap

    i Got the bed done I got some plywood instead of the slats..how did the slats work?

    • @MikeAndTheGreatOutdoors
      @MikeAndTheGreatOutdoors  26 днів тому

      Great! The slats were really nice. The give the bed some spring? I guess that's how I would explain it. Plywood is solid. Also, the slats gives air to the underside of your mattress. Thanks for watching!

      You would be slightly touching both ends, but I think it would be comfortable. I do have the stock side panels in the van still. Removing them, would give you another 1.5 inches
