    The Portal is more appealing to me than the regular Odin 2 for sure. But I already dropped coin for the RP5 which will be my all-around home & portable handheld. If I had extra money to have a home use only device I would definitely get the Portal also.

    Black frame insertion at 120htz will be a game changer for emulation

    FYI you can use black screen insertion via retroarch to take advantage of high refresh rate screens. This increases the smoothness

    Thanks for comparing, but no mention of bigger battery on the Evo and full sized console joysticks seems like a miss for your thoughts.

      @JustSomeJacob  24 дні тому +1

      @@rkpoole49 I did forget to mention battery life, and the joysticks, but for me personally most of the time joysticks don’t matter all that much as long as they’re full effect for me personally, I don’t really care about the difference between full-size joysticks or smaller ones as long as they’re better than what the switch has, I’m cool with it looks like it’s obviously broken crappy in someway

      @@JustSomeJacob Fair enough, for me it's a huge deal with games like Destiny coming to mobile having the full range of motion for the joysticks vs switch style sticks is a night and day difference.
      I just view this as a top end premium device hence the price point so I expect very little compromises. If people want to emulate old games there's tons of cheaper handhelds out there.
      Not trying to sound negative towards you video by the way, Conversation about products is good :)

      @@rkpoole49 your position makes a lot of sense and conversation about these about these handheld help people make informed buying decisions with the reveal of the pricing. The two devices are actually very different in terms of pricing. The portal is $150 cheaper than the Evo comparing their base models at their launch pricing so I think what my video says at the end basically summarizing that the Evo is really good dedicated android gaming device while the portal is better as a dedicated emulation device because in terms of emulation, they will perform pretty much the same but the Evo will do significantly better when it comes to actual native android games I go into more depth in my full video to be coming out at 10 AM today.

    As I wanted an odin 2 with upgraded screen, higher fps and bigger screen, I had to skip. Just got my odin 3 months ago and the glass front is a big downgrade. Nobody wants finger print magnet 🤷‍♂️

    Creo que en estos tiempos, con lo que pesan los juegos, el almacenamiento mínimo debe de ser 265GB y de ahí hacia arriba, sobre la memoria ram arrancar desde los 12 a los 16, recordemos estos equipos son vendidas como consolas Android. No son Tables cualquiera.

    Odin 2 Portal for me. Why? It has a headphone jack, front firing speakers, and the drivers are better optimized for the SD 8+ Gen 2. The SD G3x Gen found in the Pocket Evo is is nothing more than a SD8+ Gen 2 touted up for tablets. It's barely faster. If it had a 8 Gen 3 Elite, then you will see a big difference in gaming performance. Also the SD8+ Gen 2 is more than capable to play any native Android game at 60fps. Also AyaNeo has horrible customer service and with their track record, they will never ship on time. AYN customer service isn't like Valve but better than AyaNeo IMO.

      Different strokes for different folks. As an older gamer, I "need" a larger screen to be able to see fine details now. I couldn't play on a tiny gameboy sized screen these days.
      Though my ideal system is one with a large screen like this, but with a clamshell design so it's the best of both worlds, and can still fit in a larger pocket. And no need for a bulky padded carrying case to protect the screen.

    For me, the Odin 2 Portal really fails to deliver due to it's TERRIBLE downgrade of the battery capacity. Along with the much higher power draw of a 7" OLED screen, it's going to see half the battery life if not even worse than the normal Odin 2. Seems the Neo is the better option overall as it still has a massive battery, even larger then the original Odin 2.
