Definitely, the netcode in XIII is really bad. I was mostly just styling on max and I did my combos based on muscle memory.
Whenever I’m having a bad day, which seems to be quite frequent as of late, I just watch one of Max’s videos. It feels like chilling with the chillest dude who you can just hang with and watch play. Thanks dude, your videos mean a lot more than I can express.
I hope you run into more experienced players. Having a struggle and then taking a win with a rematch is fun seeing you do. One of my fav vids of yours is when you got double k.o.'d by a Hugo in Third Strike. The way you kept your composure, analysed the match and then came back with a win on the rematch was badass!

From my point of view, there are two reasons for this:
1. Muai Thai fighters tend to take advantage of the entire length of their limbs, making it seem that their limbs stretch out forever. If his muscles were thicker, the limbs would appear more stubby and short. But because their thin, it can fool the eyes into thinking that they're longer than they actually are. The other option is giving the character thick muscles and also a very tall height, like Sagat, to maintain the relatively-thin limbs. You could say the same thing could have been done to Kim too since he uses Taekwondo (i.e. full limb use like Muai Thai), but because his clothing looks very much like Ryu, making him thin would make him look weaker instead (because everyone is familiar with Ryu's look.
2. Benimaru is styled like a Jojo character, and pretty much all the characters past Part 5 are thin as paper.

Tbf every game is going for something different. Completely different art styles. Arcsys artstyle is absolutely on the bottom for me, their animation is great though. 3S and Garou are on the upper end in both fronts.
Im not saying arcs has a bad artstyle just that it doesn't appeal to me specifically. Its great though.
Agree. Kof 13 is the best looking fighting game to this day both visually and animation wise, as beautiful as arcsys visual is it's still inferior to kof 13.
K’ is always a satisfying character for me to watch matches of. I really love his play style and I hope he returns in KOF 15.
Not adding K' is like not adding Kyo bro. He was the main character of the NESTS arc.
K’ is one of my favorites too, since KOF ‘99. Don’t worry, he’s pretty much guaranteed a spot in any KOF game going forward.

A story that few know, the creators of Street Fighter were the creators of Fatal Fury (garou), Art of Fighting and KOF.
Look in google: "Interview with Takashi Nishiyama, Street Fighter and Fatal Fury creator"
They were an important part of making the Capcom vs SNK project a reality, helping to convince everyone about this great project.
SNK and Capcom share many stories, in fact SF4 was created by Dimps, a company created by SNK employees when it went bankrupt.

Some characters are lucky to have an infinite in this game:-
1) Ex.Iori Rekka Infinite
2) Reg.Kyo Rev.Dp input kicks 1st hit and qcf+kk
3) Benimaru Lightning Loops
Reg.Kyo is his 94/95 moveset with max. Potential and is fun to play as well my main team was

It's not an infinite. It's a loop combo. You have to use meter to keep the combo up which is why he works better as mid or anchor.
Man i want to see more kof 13 just because how good it is and with your commentary too.
Max really should give the color editor in this game some time, that shit is amazing, he could probably get some cool colors that way if he gets creative.

I actually like that they made the characters jacked while keeping others slim or proportioned.
Ralph and Clark being jacked to the gills was cool as fuck and complemented their powerful attacks.
Terry's musculature complemented him considering he is a hardened street brawler.
Dan and Adon are muay thai fighters. Them being lean and smaller is reminiscent to most muay thai fighters being lean and well conditioned.

A crying shame the steam version of XIII didn't get GGPO. If it had, would probably have been in my top 5 fighting games ever...minus the lacking roster. Plus I personally always liked the idea of playing KOF online with two other friends in the same room/each our own character, be super fun!

I think Terry is the largest and most buff model in the game (proportionatelly), and I'm pretty sure it's because he was the very first model they did for the game, he came out bigger than the rest of the cast, and since these sprites were super expensive and took so long, they never went back to fix him... but yeah, he def. doesn't share the same proportions than the rest.

You saw Hwa all the time in high level play of this game. It basically just him, NEST Kyo, Iori Power of Flames, Mr Karate, and Benimaru.

Hwa dropped off after year 1, he has trouble opening up opponents despite huge combo potential and damage. The five best are Iori, Karate, Kim, Benimaru, and Chin
