I have two and they are realy good build quality for the dosh.slipped a 2s lipo and it comes alive nicely.
Yeah we've had no issues with ours at. Definitely better with more power. I locked the diffs as well and that made them even better. 👍
Can u put a 2s lip with a brushed engine ??

I'm looking for an entry level drift rc to get a feel for it. Any idea if the HPI shells would fit this?
Thanks very much. These are good fun 4wd drifters. The little LDRC drift car isn't bad and only like $45, is RWD and comes with a gyro. Got a review in my Reviews playlist.
As for bodies, you need to check the wheelbase and width, as lots are different. 👍
I wish they still had the brushless Xranger ebl touring car. If you don’t know, it’s basically the same car but it had a 13t brushless motor

Does it have a Lipo mode? Any idea if its worth putting rally tyres on to run it as a normal street car?
Yeah you can run it with a 2S lipo, there's instructions in the manual to change from nimh to lipo. 👍
It's basically a normal street car with drift wheels on it.
If you check out my cheap drag build playlist you'll see I did just that and did a speed run. I actually need to still try a speed run with it brushless on 3S! 👍
That looks like the same chassis as my Vantage buggy! Quite surprised to see that. Looks fun.
Yeah they're all very similar. The vantage, bugsta, Carnage, Banzai etc share a lot of the same parts. 👍

@@DoURC The Vantage is fun, though it keeps breaking... to be fair it's got a stupidly powerful brushless system in it though. I got the whole thing used on eBay for £70 and parts tend be about £3 each, so I'm not complaining too much. I should give it another chance really ...
@@rccrawlersmid-wales645 Yeah my Carnage and Bugsta liked breaking a lot! Tbf the Banzai hasn't broken once, but then it's just drifting, so it's not too hard on it compared to bashing! 👍
How long was the runtime on stock battery bc my one seems rlly short
Yeah stock battery won't last long as its a Nimh. Get a 2s lipo and it's soooo much better. 👍

Hi, it really depends on the battery you use. It comes with an 1800mah nimh battery, which would probably get you around 20 minutes or so. But it can take a 2s lipo. I run mine with a 6200mah 2s lipo and it runs for ages, easily over an hour of full throttle drifting. 👍
Hello mate how do you change esc on this car to lipo mode says in manual do not use lipo battery???
Hi Steven, it depends what ESC you have in it, maybe if you have an older model it may be different. But on a newer one, it should be using the FTX6557W ESC and it will automatically detect the LIPO battery, you just need to ensure you enable Low Voltage Protection. You do that by holding down the set button, turn esc on, wait for the beep, then after the second beep let go of the set button. To turn it off, same thing but let go of the button after the first beep. Just remember if then running a NIMH battery to turn voltage protection off, otherwise it will keep cutting out. If yours says not to use a lipo, maybe you need the newer ESC. But tbh if you're changing esc, you could get a much better one like a Hobbywing one. Hope that helps.

It makes a difference putting it in Crawler mode too, as the drag brake slows the car down when you're off the throttle. 👍
@@DoURC yes I did notice the crawler brake having mess about trying to do what you said earlier today with esc mode and lipo battery .. the brake in crawler mode should be handy and help my son lol its Christmas present for him the ftx banzai.. Hope he likes.. it definitely looks alot of car for money.... I got hpi rs4 sport 3 bmw few weeks ago steering is crap worse rc car I have ever owned trying to go in straight line its all over place . so I ended up buying yeah racing conversion kit and took servo safer off its alot better now after spending another few £100 to sort problems out rest of car set up was fine easy to work on too.. Yeah racing conversion could be made tighter fit tho it still not perfect so steering problems have definitely put me off buying hpi Road car again for sure... but this ftx drift car is definitely as good for price wish I got one for myself and saved some money but never mind cheers for your help enjoy drifting bud 👍👍
