I remember as a kid my dad took my uncle an myself to meet dale sr for autographs. My dad an me both sr fans but my uncle was a bill elliot fan. So sr signed all our items an we turned for a picture with dale sr an when we was done dale tapped my uncle on back an asked if he wanted his shirt signed at that time dale realized it was an elliot shirt so he gave that big grin of his an signed my uncle's shirt clear across the top taking up all the space an he told my uncle when u see bill tell him he will have to sign it on the back !! We have shared that story of meeting dale sr with many people an I will always remember that
Fantastic story and memories. Thanks for sharing
wow amazing story
Chad McDonald so could I
Yes that's true. Me an my dad was Earnhardt sr fans. I also had 2 uncles that was elliot fans an another was a rusty Wallace fan.
blake files that’s so cool!
I’m a huge Earnhardt fan, but I wasn’t born before he died.
I never got to see him real time, but thank goodness for UA-cam!
I miss the sly smile of Dale Sr!
What makes Blaney a really cool guy is that he sometimes goes on Twitter asking to come join him at a local bar/restaurant near the track to have some drinks and have fun with the fans. Don't see much drivers doing something like that.
Sounds like Dale Sr. Just his genuine interactions with fans. He knew how much that kind of thing meant to the fans. Big part of the reason he's still remembered 18 years later, golly 18 years. Seems like just yesterday. Number 3 on the track, number 1 in our hearts.
Ballalowskee I knew Blaney was cool but that’s another reason to pull for him!!(to cool)
Just wondering, who is this guy sitting with Dale Jr asking questions
@Daniel Johnston I thought Blaney was going to win the All star race. He was looking good until the last stage. I usually pull for Chase, but wouldn't have been upset if Blaney,Matty,or Aric had won the💰💰💰. No disrespect, just anyone but the #11@ my house.
He was shotgunning beers with Dave Portnoy and betting on mud wrestling at Talladega a few years back.
How is no one else highlighting the part in the story where an unarmed Dale Earnhardt chased down tackled and beat the hell out of an armed man. I mean we all knew he was a badass but holy shit
Yeah I mean that could have ended up so much worse on BOTH ends of the spectrum. That is borderline crazy! But then again, all the stories we have heard about the man, is this really a shocker? lol
That Dude Named Dale lol right it honestly isn’t that surprising. Though when I listened to the podcast and that story came up I was thinking wait he went after a man with a gun????? Don’t know if that’s insanity badass or a little of both lol
😂😂😂😂😂
@Rocket Man were you the guy he punched in the face?
Well when the part of "he owns the property" is involved, people do have a tendency to get a bit crazy, and also poaching could be a killing offence.
Dude... Dale Sr is what life’s about.
That’s how a man is supposed to live life.
RiP Sr
My dad was the business manager for Sr's orthopedic surgeon. Sr. brought his '91 Winston Championship Trophy by the office when he came for a checkup. EVERYBODY got to pose for a picture with Dale & his trophy. 😁
That's actually sad and depressing that you would want a pic of another man next to his trophy lol
I think that Winston Cup banquet that Dale Sr had a black cast on his wrist and hand was in 1990. The story was at the time (if I remember correctly) was that he fell from a tree stand while hunting. But now Dale Jr spilled the beans and the truth is out. Awesome story :o)
I remember that lol....
Yup I was 7 years old and I remember it.
I can't remember if it was Dale or Amy that said "No more beer for Blaney" after they had issues on the track. One of the best Nascar quotes ever 🤣🤣
It was dale
MotorCityOctane 2017 Martinsville “aww man. No more free beer for Blaney!”
They both actually said it. Dale Junior said it after the wreck with Blaney., And Kelly said it on her podcast.
Was dale.....they were neighbors
It was dales spotter
Just makes dale that much more of a legend.
I met him twice, he'll always be a legend to me,
That skoal bandit hat reminds me of the good ole days of racing
Yeah, the good ol days when this "sport" was sponsored by poisons.
@@phils1427 you need another spoonful of sugar for your frosted flakes?
@@phils1427 Just go somewhere else with that BS.
Handsome Harry man!!!!
Yep, ol Harry Gant car, man I was thinking the same thing!!! It has gotten BAD!
If Dale broke his hand on a guys face, I'd hate to see the damage to the guys face.
I broke my right hand on another guys face in hockey, my pinky knuckle & ring finger knuckle are pushed back & it’s just flat there now. I guess us Dale’s must be tough lol.
Just because you break your hand on a guys faces doesn't mean you did damage to someone's faces. It usually means your fist wasn't closed right
It’s pretty easy to punch someone in the wrong way and break your hand
@@danielbusby5773 or you had a gun in it pistol whipping them. Oooppss!!!
That has nothing to do with what the other guy might look like. It just means he broke his hand. That happens when you hit with wrong knuckles.
Jr you have the best podcast. Loved when you and Kerry were on. This is definitely a perfect gig for you. You're a class act. Love you! Best wishes to you and your beautiful family.
That was an awesome interview with Ryan. I really liked the story you shared about your Dad. Your dad chasing an armed man that is wild. Thanks for sharing Jr.
Jr. you really have nailed it with your show, I am subscribed and a daily listener. A great way to keep the Earnhardt nation going. Some people just have the personality and skills for this naturally and you really do. Great show.
You've got to love Dale Jr. This podcast is compelling.
The "farm manager guy", his name was Bobby Ellenberg, my dad. His side of the story was as follows. That man was the diesel mechanic that serviced the Caterpillar front end loader. He was there at least once a month. Mr. Earnhardt and my dad totally trusted the man enough to where as I recall he had a key to the front gate, so that when he was going to be later than us leaving, he could let his self out and lock the front gate. The day of this awful incident was on a Sunday. Dale was in town but at his house (over on Lake Norman). My dad (Bobby), was at the poultry house and heard the report from the gun shot. He could tell it was close so he jumped in the truck and rode over to the power lines and seen that it was a buck that Dale had a real attachment too. (Folks I myself have seen this beautiful buck walk up to Dale in his truck and eat out of his hand) , so dad knew he (Dale) was gonna be PISSED!! Well dad calls Dale and told him what happened and Dale made a 30 minute drive in 10-15. When Dale got there he told dad that they (the poachers) would be back so they hid in the tree line and waited and sure enough about dark here they came. Climbed the fence and were walking down the power lines towards the buck when Dale told them to stop , dad said they (there was 2 when they came back) , took off running and that Dale was on that guy in no time. He (dad) said he was giving this guy a proper beat down when suddenly Dale realized it was the mechanic. Dad said when Dale did see who it actually was he went ballistic and dad told him stop you gonna kill him. ( That's when he stopped). Said Dale told him to go to the farm shop and call the game warden . Dad said he thought about it and said no your coming with me , I'm not leaving you and him alone down here. ( For a good reason). So they get up to the shop and call the game warden and the rest of the story was took place in court. As for the other guy (poacher) , he got away that day ( somewhat). Dad said he got to the woods , and dad said that fella was breaking what sounded like some awful big limbs as he was running , he had to be taking a beating himself . Said he could hear him in the distance ( oh ,unhh, just beating the crap out of himself). As a side note that mechanic came to our house 2 Sundays later to talk. ( You ask me he was just trying to save face because he took an ass whoopin) And man was that head knotted up!! As another side note he was a member of our community out in Mt.Ulla. That man brought a lot of shame to his family. That was a hot topic among the gossips for a while. His partner in poaching was his daughters boyfriend whom I went to school with previously. Dale Jr. You could at least call ( the farm manager guy ) by his name, his name was Bobby, remember?
Interesting story if it's true. Do you have any pictures of your father with Dale? Those would be cool to share.
@@Lashazior yes I have pictures but have no clue how to go from glossy pics to download or upload ( whatever the term.) I'm not tech savvy at all. He was farm manager until his heart surgery. Jr. remembers him. You have to remember that this is when Jr. was chewing bubble gum and playing with RC cars.
Thanks for this incredible story. Sr was no doubt devastated and highly ticked off to have someone shoot at a buck who used to eat out of his hand. I’m sure he told everyone who came to his property they’re off limits. That is very shameful to basically shoot and kill Dale Earnhardt’s pet!
Dale Sr had A LOT of employees. There no way I could keep them all straight. I am sure that Jr meant no disrespect.
Ryan is just a flat-out class act. Knowing and doing work for his Grandpa (and the rest of the family) Lou Blaney would be so proud of the young man he has become.
Yup .... I've been looking for someone to cheer on the last few years and Blaney is my man now .... He's got it all .... drives a Ford ..... his number is my lucky number (12) and he's a good guy and a good driver. Needs to get a win though .....
Yeah his dad was good too but its ashame he wasnt as successful as his son is now
You an your dad were class acts truly enjoyed NASCAR when you an your dad were racing good luck with your family
Everybody has there Dale story but my dads truck broke down and he pulled off the side of the road assuming it was near Dales property and got stuck. Dale just happened to be out in a tractor and helped pull him out. Funniest part is my dad didn’t realize it was Dale until after he was gone and the service tech that came out to help told my dad. Said he was nice and joked about him getting stuck in the one spot that there happened to be mud on a sunny day!
I love hearing story's like that and any story's about your Dad. He was not related nor did I even meet him but when he died I cried like he was family. Love the podcast Dale Jr
I'm binge watching these... love them!
I love you Dale Jr!!!! Your the best brother!! LOVE the show man. God bless! 💯💨🏎
Absolutely fantastic stuff here...this is a damn good podcast. Dale is every bit the stand up guy I’ve always heard about/expected him to be and Blaney seem like a good sport and a funny guy. It’s cool seeing these guys just kicking back, being themselves and shooting the shit.
Big respect for Ryan and his family. Absolutely loved watching his dad race Sprint Cars. 👍👍
The Talladega kart shirt!!! Lovin it!
Anybody know where to buy that shirt?
I was born and raised in Bristol, Tn. Have many fond memories of going to the track as a kid. Some great stories I could tell about many drivers. I lived just up the Volunteer Parkway from the track.
Broke his hand on the dudes face, Dale Earnhardt. Sumbitch was a no joke true blue collar badass...
But didn't hunt the deer, just wanted to watch them. That part is amazing, living in the south most of my life. Damn near everyone hunts around here. ( at least the guys )
@@batsonelectronics Dale hunted deer, just not on his property. He just loved seeing the wildlife on his property. You've got to respect that! He'll bag a deer anywhere on earth but the deer on his 300 acre home/farm/land was for his viewing only not to be hunted, Dale sr. was such a badass I miss him everyday I hear a good story about him!
Well I always knew Dale was a fearless tough man. That proves it.
If Dale can survive a crash like the one he had at Dega in 96 would you pick a fight with him? i wouldnt
Enough guys!! Ryan Blaney needs to win most popular driver period!!!
And thanks Jr., you guys are awesome!
Love that Burt&Hal Mach 1 Racing hat! Reminds me of the good old days...
Love the stories!!
Blaneys voice has an awesome professional quality. He could commentate or do voice overs etc etc.
Dale jr is the only famous person that could tell a story about going to a grocery store and I would listen to every detail like I have never listened b4.. awesome he does this radio .. it’s more enjoyable then him racing his stories are neat and he is down to earth guy
I’m like you on this 👍
Everytime I watch these they get better and better.
Love this channel!
Great audio today. Thanks

Love this podcast!
mr. Earnhardt jr. I really enjoy these videos thank you so much for putting them up here on UA-cam I really enjoy it I wish they would be a little longer sometimes but like I said they're awesome videos and I really enjoy watching these I get a lot of laughs I really miss what Nascar used to be back in the 80s early 90s I really miss it I really miss your dad too
Love the show
Love the podcasts and how many guests have stories about your dad you’ve never heard. You find the coolest people, make amends with some, and man, love Blaney. Personality similar to yours Low key but parties too. Would pick him as most popular over Chase. Loved learning about your dad through Kerry and Kelly most. Love Ask Jr too. Wish was still on regular cable instead of Peacock
I’ve been a Blaney fan since I saw his first cup race. He didn’t win but he never put a wheel wrong all night on one of the toughest track.
The part about Dale, was more interesting than the whole interview. Earnhardt was THE MAN!
He wasn’t hunting the deer, he was just keeping them because he loved to watch them 😍
"definitely not, no, never.... Give me a number"...😂😂😂😂😂
I worked WITH my dad/idol starting at age 10 till 17. After that 18 to 28, I worked FOR him. All the while being his son and best friend. Hearing those mailbox adventures and egging adventures took me back. Dang he woulda kicked my behind for that stuff! RIP WHT and RDE
Nice vintage Enduro Kart tee Dale!
I remember mailbox baseball, that’s the type of things you do when you are young and dumb 🤣
We used to make little pipe bombs w/ a cigarette fuse. Blow then inside out in the middle of the night. Yes , Young and Dumb....
@@pat36a m80's, nuff said
I was 18 years old got a ticket for 110 MPH in a twenty five. 👀. The good news was I won the race!!!
Miss seeing ya at the track. Ever consider doing some drag racing? Or car builds? I sure would watch!!!
That a Skoal racing hat? Very nice throwback. Harry Gant getting represented! :D
Or Rick Mast or Terry Labonte or Ken Schrader
Wow. The legend of Earnhardt Sr. grows...
Love the old Harry Giant hat👍🏻👍🏻
Dale was so kool miss him.😞
As far as Dale Sr., I say “Don’t be sad, but rather happy that he lived.” Its hard for all of us since when I first started watching racing, knowing that this is the 20th Anniversary of his passing, oh, and before I forget, I encourage people that either have no. 3 or no. 8 hats, bring them outta the attic, and, “Let’s Do It For Dale Sr.!”
Darn rights, man.
Sr lives forever!
Sr reminds me a lot of my old man. He "hunts" still, but it's mainly just to watch the birds, rabbits, deer, ect. He hasn't killed anything since around the time I was born 30 years ago.
Damn good stories
11:50 is when the story starts
Scrolled for this. Thanks!
Big fan of you and your dad r.i.p😢🥺
Love his Skoal Bandit hat!! I miss Handsome Harry 😍
Awesome stories ! There has to be more ?
Wow Dale. I also owned a 68 RS Camaro, & an 87 Chevy S-10.
One of Ryan Blaney's best traits to me, when he wins, he doesn't do burnouts with rhe racecar. I head him say that the car doesn't belong to him. He wasn't going to abuse someone else's property. Raised old skool.
Man I love Ryan Blaney
This is the most I have ever heard Ryan Blaney talk.
That's a hell of a Dale Earnhardt autograph 😂
Hehehe, Chase KNOWS what happens when he says he wasn't invited... he's just having a little fun, that's all! lol
The hat is so cool back in day Hal Needham team never sold many of them hats at the track
I want that skoal bandits hat
hunter wagoner buy one
Handsome Harry
First time I seen Dale he had a big ole handle bar mustache. Thought dang thats cool 😎
a.d.d. here, but where did he get that Bobby Allison T-Bird!? lol
Check Ebay my dude
I miss the good old days of racing I was at the Glenn in 88 been there 10 times more an passed on to my girls
I have one of those original Bert & Hal hats.
Where can I find Dale Jr's hat in this episode? Couldn't find it in the JR Nation store.
Jr is soooo smoothe
My hat found a good home, thanks Ryan. 🏁
Explain?
Big shout-out to Dale's early 70's enduro-kart Talladega tee! 😎
🤔...An educated guess say's that's 1975 WKA National Champion Ricky Rudd on Dale's shirt. I raced IKF Sprint Go-Karts throughout the 70's-80's & Won a National Championship myself in 85 and I've had the Honor of being the cover-shot on a couple of race shirts, so I got a warm & fuzzy feeling seeing Dale Jr wear a Go-Kart tee-shirt on his very popular podcast 😃!! As for the Buckeye Bullet's young'n, love that kid!
Nascar really NEEDS Ryan to start winning more races & doing battle with Awesome Bill's boy for Wins & Championships. Maybe if that started happening on a regular basis & maybe RC's Grandkids start winning & battling with the other two on a regular basis! 😃!! Maybe, just maybe then Nascar could start looking like some semblance of their former glorious self 🙏
Haha I loved mailbox baseball!
Damn those lolly- gaggers!
I use to love watching nascar, then it was more and more rules and less racing, then changed the point system and ruined the sport as far as I'm concerned
LoL Dale Jr is talking about my childhood, dude I know hit a box but he didn't know it was cemented in the ground I laughed til I 🤢 puked broke him if doing that 😂😂😂😂
The hat is badass Ryan
I miss your Dad, he was a lot a fun
Love it,,, at a boy dale Sir,,,
I've heard that story before
Cops racing hat is awesome!
I love Ryan Blaney ! If Truex Jr. Retires he will probably be my favorite.
Newfound respect for Dale Jr. I think I never took to him out of loyalty to Dale Sr. Sounds dumb to me now.Dale Sr's death messed up a lot of us.
He was lucky going out doing "his thing". I will prolly drop out with the damn snow shovel. It sux.being me. Lol
Isn’t a day that goes but that I don’t miss him.
Don't feel bad Dale junior as back in my high school myself and seversl of my baseball teammates in upper East Tennessee used to drive down the back roads of Hawkins County and see who could Chuck Budweiser and Miller lite pony beer bottles hitting mailboxes and stop sides while going along at 30 to 50 miles an hour.
How am I just now learning this podcast exists
You've got some catching up to do.
@@DirtyMoMedia that's right.. especially last years start of reading promos! 🤣
Where can I find that Skoal bandit hat
"over 100?" "no, it was 93 in a 45" "that's bad" what a setup
The Burt and Hal's Skoal Bandit hat has made me a Ryan Blaney fan. Any kid today that shows respect for Harry Gant and that era, deserves respect himself.
His dad is one of the greatest diet track racers and he's sitting with Dale fucking Jr! Your life is pretty good Ryan
Harvick and Blaney are my favorites
I never thought I would ever like anything or do nothing... Then I saw Dale senior win the daytona 500!!
Hey he was on Magnum P.I.
Haven't had a ticket in x amount of years. 🤔 They just pull them over and get an autograph, selfie, and a good story.
