I really enjoyed watching this. It reminds me that when I'm in my bees and the gals aren't appreciative that I am not alone. Hope shared through experience (whether the experience be pleasant or painful).
May not always be pretty but it sure is fun!
Yes you have to take the good with the bad. I try to show everything I do so everyone can experience the highs and lows. Lows being stung on the hip and wrist. All part of the fun. Good luck with your girls this summer.

Cranky bees.. I was in my hives on Wednesday and got a sting through the glove. Hopefully this week they will calm down with the hot sunny weather and new blooms.
I don't blame them because it was a crappy morning and I was just trying to get things done. Stings Happen!!!!!!!
It is hot here in Upstate NY today our bees seemed cranky too you could just hear them roar
I was in the hive today and they are still a little bit pissed. Fingers crossed it gets better.

I think it is a combo of things. Pulling frames and the rainy overcast morning didn't help.

Yea it went south fast. Between pulling honey and the overcast weather didn't help.
If they are cranky it is when you get into the bottom box even in a double deep. Supers, no big problem but the deep you go the more pissed off they get. LOL
Is that about equal numbers of frames of capped brood on this hive as other hives with younger queens? She is still going, just wonder if she is slowing down?
I would say she is not slowing down because of the 12 hives I have in this yard she is one of the top 3 and I did pull two splits off her. I think her brood nest is not all together but she has great numbers and the pattern still looks good. I am thinking if she keeps going to pull her at the end of the month and let her retire in a nice nuc overlooking the ocean.

Hot hives are a pain but usually make a lot of honey. In my experience.
