Bro I've been searching for your channel for the longest. Every time i get nba I look for your tutorials and get my search feed filled with dribbe cheese tutorials. You a rare gem bro!
This is one thing that I really want to improve with 2K, there are a lot of things that could be cut that could help save time for us players and improve the experience.
Shooting needs to be buffed imo, wide open with curry should be easier than it currently is. I think it puts a lot of people off playing the game especially newcomers.
The delays and lags in games in Online Gaming + the in-gameplay factors like fatigue etc. can cause your dribble chain commands and moves to slow and not work like how you want it to.
@KevinCruz016 Ohw I'm used to it - I've been 2k gaming since 2k10 and have not missed a 2k game since. My 13th 2k series. My point is you cannot do the dribble moves - like you demonstrate in ypur videos - with real player rated and lower overall rated players as opposed to myteam very highly rated players you do the fancy dribble moves with + in game factors. Anyone obviously with 99 overall rated players. I doubt you will in
A underrated tutorial that is needed is, how do you create spacin on offense. Too many times I’m drivin and my cpu players will literally cut and bring their defender wit me. I need to know good offensive sets and wen it’s a good time to try and cook without teammates interfering
There are several five out freelances that can help you with spacing, the Bucks 2018, Pelicans, 21 delay, Warriors, and even the nuggets freelance are great modern offenses that help with spacing. But you’re working under their script, so you at least need to know which movements trigger certain unideal spacing situations. I’ll probably look at this in more detail for 24.
i started playing nba again last played nab 2k18 which is still my fav but i tried nba 2k23 and cant even shoot anymore i miss all my 3 pointers so thanks for the tips. i suck so much i cant even play online. tho i get more progresivly better playing vs ai and black top.
I use square for stand still jumpers since I find the button more responsive. Use the right stick for advanced layups or stepback jumpers. You can only cancel out of stepback jumpers using the right stick!
I have no clue how to play this game haha. I can shoot decently but the dunking controls and ESPECIALLY defending feel completely alien to me. I just dont know what im doing haha. Do you hold a button to defend? They just go right around me
I have an on ball defense tip that might help! Generally you want to hold L2 to enter a defensive stance and move the left stick left, right, diagonally to try to stay in front of your defender. Holding L2, and initiating contact will get you bump animations, which throw your defender off. Hold R2 while holding L2 so you can move around quicker, but only use this in situations where you're trying to cut off your opponent. IF you hold R2 all the time on defense you'll be sliding around a lot and you'll get beat!
Hi bro! Hope you doing well! I’ve been watching you for the past 2 days trying to learn how to play 2k and I went through a lot of videos and i like your play style! But the problem is that I see a lot of things going on the screen, a lot of arrows on the court, buttons icons popping on top of the players etc… can you make a video where you play a normal match but with controller displayed on the screen so we can see what you click !? Sorry for the essay 😂❤
Absolutely bro, anything to help bring new players in! And thank you for the compliment bro, I’m gonna try to do everything to help a lot of newer players as much as I help advanced users as well!
I am a Sims player. The AI on defense is annoying as fk. Especially on PnR. Another thing is missing layups with little contact and full meter. I see how NBA2K makes you think your build is dope when playing in the summer league chip. But that first game, my player is 75% less effective. Like he defaulted to all 25. 95 speed with 95 stamina and my player is getting burned by fucking Luka on back cuts and chase downs. Sorry for the rant.
As a new player, this game is a nightmare. Step 1, make your build which will dictate the rest of your gameplay experience. As a new player, how the fuck are you supposed to know what you want your build to be? So trash by 2k, just lame. You should be able to adjust your build as you learn and progress, but instead you have to start over completely if you dont like your build😢. Every animation/jumpshot is locked, so you're stuck with default. At level 60 your player can barely walk, forget about making any moves or fakes, you're gonna have a bad time. Dont even bother with online play, just grind it out in mycareer NBA for about 3 full seasons and 300 hours and you'll finally hit level 92, lol
I wouldn't recommend starting with the MyCareer mode this late into 2K's life cycle, or if you're new to the game. Unfortunately, that mode gatekeeps a lot of progress which can get frustrating for new users. Try to see if you enjoy the core gameplay first in the standard modes, and if you like the concept of creating your own build, hop into the mode to see what it has to offer. But it takes time, and a lot of patience, and why I have not jumped into that mode yet!
I'm not sure if floppy is now a specific action in a playbook, or part of the quick options. I'll look into this, but I think it might have been removed in favor of something else
I copied your idea here and used them to play online not all of the dribble moves are achievable thanks the gameplay had this slowness in actions and movements sort of like its not free where you are able to control the player without it ever slowing down
Imagine 2K tried to attract new players by showing/promoting #SimNation ...what a beautiful world it'd be... Great video and great timing, Kev, good stuff.
Appreciate you Gustavo! I was trying to learn Street Fighter 6 and I was so lost lmao. I thought i needed to do something like this to help on board a lot of people who want to get into the game a little bit easier!
Hey Jake, if we're talking about MyCareer, are you talking about the season levels? Or just increasing the rating of your player? I recommend checking out the how to level up fast guides for MyCareer! Those are really helpful! Daily tasks should help!
@@KevinCruz016 yeah bro im talking bout my career and like my player level not stats but its weird cause i been doing all the xp quest and im not leveling up. Must just be a glitch?

@@KevinCruz016game seems hard to learn especially when you don’t really know how to play basketball I jus want to play with my friends hoping this video helps 👍👍
Number 1 tip would be not to download this crappy micro transaction riddled excuse for a game. Glad that i tried this game because it validated my choice to never buy nba2k again. Idk how they managed to make this game so bad.
They need to balance out how they monetize game modes for sure, I think that’s a legitimate conversation to be had. As a gameplay guy, I can only really try to make players who want to hoop’s experience as good as possible!
Yessir! Once you’re familiar with the basics, the first mode I’d go into is Play Now to play against the cpu! Start at a difficulty you’re comfortable with, and just use the basics of offense!

Honestly I only play MyCareer and the amount of time wasted by long cutscenes and the Neighborhood is annoying

Skip them. I skipped all of them lmao
Same, I only play career and GM when it comes to 2k. I never play online. I’m not good enough for that and it’s not fun to me.
@@Fallenjaytee I still have to run for 5 mins after every game just to run to Team practice 😂
