Another good tip is using the thumb stick instead of X. So many people use X. Timing your steals with the Right stick and and watching the ball handler use majority of their energy doing nothing 😂😂 will cause a good amount of steals. I average 1.5 steals in theater
Hey Vin as a fellow small creator I would never ask you to do something for free. If you can share a link of your work, I'll give it a look, and I might be looking to upgrade my designs for the videos soon so I'm interested.
How do you play pick and roll defense manually? Also how do you know which way they are going on current gen. The light does not come on, on the player.
1. Pick and roll defense, I usually do what I can to not get caught in a screen. So I will go under the screen if you're not a good shooter. If you can shoot, I will Ice or go over (if i have pick dodger), just so that I force you to drive. Depending on how CPU helps, I will switch to the weak side corner help to tag the roller, or rotate if there's a missed rotation by the CPU. I might go into this in more detail at some point, because 5 on 5 defense is such a difficult topic to cover.
Man I played this dude with T Mac. He would go behind the screen and take a quick shot every time. When I x switch it would be a mismatch with tacko. When I play on ball and he blows and I x switch and the corner man would help stop the drive. That was my only hope. That stopped the bleeding but he was already at 45 pts. Maybe a good video 😉
How bad is the lag/delay when playing online in the Philippines? I feel like reaction times are severely affected by input delay due to high latency. Also, what ISP do you use while playing online? PLDT? Converge? TIA
Mine improved a lot when I bought a router that could set priority for my PS5. This is about as close to offline gameplay my latency has felt ever. I'm on globe Fiber by the way.
I got an Asus Router bro, that has prioritization settings. Naka kabit yung ethernet sa gaming lan port, and lagi prioritized bandwidth sa PS5 ko. Honestly, it's been such a great upgrade. There are other options as well, but make sure na wired connection ka, and that you get some router that has prioritization features so that your gaming network doesn't get crowded when you're playing online!
The thing is on current defense really really sucks I have a 93 ovr Paul George 6’9 build with a 86 perimeter defense and 80 interior and I can barely get stops, I have been playing since 2k12 btw I just feel that dribbling has gotten way too cheesy and the blow buys are insane I always say they should’ve never nerfed steals for high steal builds but instead buffed unpluckable
It's definitely harder than on next but it doesn't suck completely. I have a 6'10 hybrid defender and guards really don't go anywhere. U can't crowd dribblers like on next gen so you have to give them a little more space and most of the times your length will be enough to challenge the shot.
I have a lot of thoughts on the way people dribble. But in general the problem is that the defense is always at a disadvantage in terms of freedom of movement compared to the offense. The way offense can start and stop and start again, change angles, and speed boost just constantly puts people at a disadvantage. These are the tips I learned trying to get better on ball, but it still can get rough against the 1 percent of player base that knows all the tricks.
@@TheBlankEvolved defense is at a disadvantage but try this. Try to take away his ball hand. If he favors the right take away that side but you have to be disciplined and completely cut off that side. Now he has only two choices, either go left or step back. Now is when you have to master pressing and retreating. But yea the most important part is not trying to defend left and right.
@@bldgentertainment4496 I was pretty good at that before 21 (thanks for the advice) but then dribbling kept evolving and now they do the up dribble to quickly switch hands, snatch back, escape dribble etc and it’s very hard to react or predict when they can change hands and momentum’s with the blink of an eye but you as a defender (no matter the rating) can’t switch defenses, sides or r hands to lead with so many times I’m stuck out of position or I simply and literally sliding all over the court even though I never had defensive problems before
The easier ones to defend have a pattern. For example, if they go drag back, the easy move they make is to speed boost to the same side as their ball hand. Now if they notice you caught on, they'll give you one quick cross, then speed boost the opposite way. It's a combination of knowledge of meta combos, pattern recognition, and sometimes getting lucky. The bad-mediocre players will telegraph what they want to do, at the top end, you're going to have to rely on not just on ball defense, but off ball as well at times just because they know all the counters. Hope this was helpful!
In 5-on-5 game modes for sure man. I have certain things I like to do in general, I like to mix up switching defenses in PNR situations, sometimes going into Ice defense, and going over screens just to mix up the coverages. But I may go into more detail in the future on this!
@@KevinCruz016 cool appreciate the response. I trying out your tips and it work in progress but i do see improvement for my team defensively. Except for the many unicorns in myteam
Drop step is difficult if you get locked into that shove animation. All you can do is hope that you're able to recover from the animation and time the contest. But guessing right (holding the LS towards the baseline at the right time), and contesting (either using RS or blocking) with something like Anchor is your best bet. But honestly, paint stops can be difficult if you're overmatched. Sometimes you're gonna need to send help at the right time just because the drop step is just one of those tough moves to stop when you're opponent is too deep
Nah you have a misunderstanding of how defensive assist strength works. And no my point was that you dont get sliding at 50 percent, still allows for enough control. Defensive assist strength isn’t as strong as in past years and still allows you for enough control to make the micro adjustments you need. All these clips are based on reads, and if you watched all that and focused on the default defensive assist slider then I can’t help you If you think defensive assist strength is some magic crutch for on ball defense then no one should suck lmao. It’s about preference. Some people like it at zero, I think 50 is just fine.

Hey Kevin, can you do a tutorial on how to use Jordan Poole please, Ive been trying to learn him but it gets too difficult, Nice video btw
Use his crossover into a step back and speed boost out of it
Kev do you have any passing vids that go over handoff animations?
I go over some hand off actions in my ‘next level offense’ video but not super in depth!

Without using Tacko/Boban/Yao etc
Unfortunately the only way to stop paint mash against those cards is to have the same cards 😅
