The lead shot ban is rubbish should put the bio wad in all cartridges not just game the plastic wad just don't look good all over the place. But of course it will give them another excuse to put the price who the he'll is going to afford to shoot soon any way
I had a fixed choke mk 60 sporter I sent it to teague and naw it's multichoke and steel proofed changed the gun completely more usable for different cartridges d the flurdeles stamps on it
why no mention of bioammo blue? I have used his through my two 1920's Greener side by sides. No bad effects and have killed birds cleanly at the top of trees. No effect on my guns
The lead free thing is driven by the game meat industry that sell their products to EU countries, where there is a bit of a Pb phobia by health freaks. The same health freaks that live in some filthy city, and drive battery powered vehicles. Pb found in game has no health risk effect as people are living to 81 years on average anyway, and those with game in their diet even longer. There really isn't anything as ballistically effective as Pb, at comparable cost. No game will thank you for using ballistically inferior ammunition. Those shoots that want it, to sell their harvest to commercial exporters or supermarkets, need to make it very clear. They can either charge less per sporting bird or hope their product attracts as many guns. Lets not think up stuff just because of political fashions, or to cater for the large commercial shoots. Pb shot should a voluntary thing, and let the market decide. Don't encourage the political muppets.
Steel does not kill larger game nearly as cleanly as lead. Anyone saying "steel breaks clays just as well" knows nothing about game shooting and is just a virtue signaller. (BASC, NGO fall into this category) Having to use more open choke just ruins the pellet density at any distance, try head/neck shooting a goose at 50 yards with 1/2 choke.
Stock up on lead ammo whilst you can still get it. Lead ban is not yet implemented and we should continue to oppose it. I won't be renewing my BASC membership as they have simply rolled over, which I believe is against the wishes of most of its members.

Good work, some manufacturers are loading 4s in Hp and 3s in standard performance 👍🏼
Banning lead is a bad idea. Steel & Other ammo is just asking for ricochet & more injuries.
And wounding game.
Metalic lead is perfect for hunting, lead contamination from old primers not so good!
Thanks Johnny. I have the CIP with fleur de leys. I'm good to go.

Hey Jonny, great summary. Any insights as to when we might start to see Turgsten ammo from the main stream cartridge manufacturers?
Crickets....
It's going to cost, but it works. There again, so does lead....
People will put steel in guns that cant handle it though and people will get hurt for no valid reason

Can I use a 67mm cartridge in a 65mm chamber ? It's all a bit confusing and would like some clarification. Thanks in advance.
Would a new DT-11 with the tapered barrels be approved for steel?
YES!!!

I've never seen any Tungsten cartridges commercially available anywhere.
They have them in the states for turkey hunting, but have never seen them in Blighty
They sell it in the US. It's very expensive. I believe that it's hard on old shotgun barrels too.
