I'm scared of welding but you slowly encouraging me to try it. Everyone on youtube speaks of perfect bead welds. That shit is intimidating 😂😂😂
a) There's no such thing as a perfect bead with mig welding
b) After a bit of training, the only way to get better is to get stuck in a practice

Dude you should have axle stands front and rear on the jacking points ,not a jack holding up the car in the middle this will put the door alignment of because the car will slightly bend ,putting them the jacking points evens out the weight
Smashed it, I don’t do UA-cam I have gone from retail (former Singhbury’s then Morrisinghs) to opening a wheel refurb/Tyres Daily job and been doing cars for 20 odd years on the sides in mates garages/drive , now full set up ramps, tyre set up and shot blast and PC set up, going to work at home and really enjoying it, really enjoyed following your Journey and picking things up, Shame you so far as would to work with you,

When welding cover all glass on car with welding blanket. If the welding splater hits glass it will mark it which you can't remove

Have you ever thought about also installing the strut brace of the m2, together with the sub frame of the m2? (not sure if this will fit). but this should give the car a stiffer front end, like that of the m2.

Looks good. We all got to start somewhere. Welding will improve with time. Looks like your wire speed was a little fast.
Only thing I noticed though is surely the rear arches wont be any wider than stock?
Where you kept the little bit of the oem qtr where it meets the bumper ( which makes sense as it would be a lot easier this way) this has meant that m2 arch has had to be kinked in to join to the oem qtr. So in theory its no wider in arch clearance because of that bit. Sonwhen you run m2 width arches, they are going to make contact with that part of the arch but there will still be a decent sized gap at the most top point of the arch.
You could sort of see it in the vid too. Only reason I noticed this is because all the others Ive seen done all attack that area differently.

Ditch the argon gas ..... that's why you have problems, use co2 much better quality welds ! Shame your so far away I'd have come along and helped!
