    Man I wish I had this pod come out 10 years ago cause it speaks directly to a younger me. I come from a home of ministers so my parents are very conservative, honest, kind-hearted people. I assumed that was how the real world is until after college I got my first gig in the sports business and it was like I was thrown into the jungle and the animals looked at me like fresh meat. Everyone was backstabbing everyone to get ahead, people manipulating situations to make themselves look good and others look bad, etc. and it was extremely difficult to adjust to cause not only did I not want to play that game but I wasnt even given the tools as a growing up to know how to handle these types of environments. After 5 years I left that industry and went in a different direction with my career. The first thing I asked in the interview process for my current job was "what is the work environment like here? Cause I worked in sports and those guys are wolves in sheep clothing" They thought that was funny and laughed but I was dead serious lol

    • @majorkade
      @majorkade 4 роки тому +3

      I also was raised in an ultra-conservative, very religious environment. However, my parents divorcing gave me some real-life Robert Greene lessons, and I am better off for it.

      I feel for you, man. But I also feel like a book like his, just can’t be promoted hard like that, lest it be used against others by weak-minded individuals. I’ve had friends that I’ve known forever and never dared share with them books with knowledge that I know they would abuse because of their character. I really have to know somebody’s heart to share tools that might be used against others.

It was never a “How to” on being evil, but a map for those who are good people and need help navigating the world they have not been exposed to. Obviously, you can’t control who reads it- but it’s good to know that it has been beneficial to good people.
