Looking For Rare Crystals On the Side of The Road! Ontario Rockhounding

I had the chance to quickly stop by a roadcut while on vacation and I found a couple nice examples of fluororichterite which is a rare variety of amphibole. Even though this spot is pretty picked over I would still recommend making a pit stop at this place on your way to other places.

Hey Aiden!! Collecting at this occurrence has most people pulling their hair out. It's almost impossible to remove crystals intact which is why they saw chunks of calcite out and etch them out... I had to laugh, I thought I was the only one who uses the word grody!! 😂

Yeah the calcite is a pain to chisel, and grody is a useful word eh. 🙂
