@@hildafransson1392The bottom line… 2 options: after death, you will still be conscious and remember your whole life, which makes being alive now a valuable event. Or, you won’t be conscious and forget everything, which makes being alive and all the things you may a choose to do now totally irrelevant.
Alan Watts has the ability to put all of my thoughts into words and instantly relieve all my anxiety and confusion.

@@tiffanaynay777 Feeling that way about anyone wise will in the end lead us to the ultimate truth, medium isn't of much concern in my opinion. In my community people believe in hundreds of gods, and yet miss the point they were made to convey. Destiny is same, though we all might have different journeys.
Alan hit a real chord in my head and things suddenly felt easier, I suddenly stopped trying to make sense of everything. I've actually started to feel peaceful for the first time in so long. So glad I clicked on this 😊

Guy was not at peace with himself, he was just at peace with not being at peace with himself, as I read somewhere.

Oh, I feel it when I'm manic, it's absolutely indescribable, the ecstasy and awe I experience. The depression after is a terrible hangover for months though.
It sounds as if you are bi-polar. I was too and those highs made it all seem worthwhile. But it left eventually and now I am old and happier than ever. Have come to the conclusion: simply choose to be happy, count blessings and live in gratitude. Smile at life and find the funny side. It works.

How to NOT take the world or ourselves too seriously is the doorway to enter into peace and loving kindness, but it is so damn hard. It feels like being in a torrential, mighty river being swept away and someone on the shore saying, "Get out of the raging river and ease your mind." The more you try to swim against the crazy currents of life the more exhausted you become. Still, to think of regaining the innocence and wide eyed wonder of a child gives me hope.

For me, what I respect the most about him is that although he had this tremendous insight and wisdom for guidance, is that he too (from what I have read anyway) dealt with many of the same problems that trouble us all. It's encouraging to know that the message to me anyway, is to keep these teachings to help guide us through and overcome our minds.
I still feel that everything is magical and say it often. I don't think we are a floating globe ;however. Also, I will NEVER understand abuse, pain ,and evil.
