I'm 51 and have worked in a nursing home for 31 years watching people die. My mother died of cancer when she was 56 on Christmas Eve. Christmas morning I spent making the arrangements for everything. I was 23. My dad only cared about himself. Everybody's got a story to tell. This is mine. You have to put you first because nobody else will. You have to be your number 1 advocate. I've also seen many of my friends and people from the old neighborhood die and develop health problems. Cancer, high blood pressure, heart disease and diabetes. It goes on. We can also live until we're 100 with no problems at all. My point is you just don't know. People are Evil and miserable and will love to bring you down because misery loves company. Speaking on a relative basis, it appears that certain words are better pointers than other, but in reality, words and thought about NOW are merely conceptual, not the actual. Even as pointers it seems to be only relatively practical, as WHAT-IS, is ALL THERE IS. IT can’t point to or at ITSELF. There is no way for ALL to get outside of ALL so that IT can objectify ITSELF. NOW is ever present, so having no history it doesn’t need words to be or exist.
There's no future, nor past, but a sequence of present moments of which a lifetime is made. We need to learn to value our present moments and live each moment as if it was the last one.
This is tricky though because present moments influence Future presents. So another way to look at it is be content in the present but Invision a better future.

Few moments of presence in a day is good enough but be consistent. Tell yourself that I only have to be present now. Not tomorrow not for the next whole hour just NOW.
