Everything…E V E R Y T H I N G…is dependent upon your thoughts. Realize that you are not your mind. You exist behind it. Your mind is like an unruly child throwing thoughts around. It’s up to you to start managing your mind. Start observing it. Then take what is positive and leave what is negative. When fear or other worries enter my mind, I say gently to myself “I appreciate the suggestion, but I’ll decide what I think,” and then dismiss it. It takes a lot of practice every day and in most moments. But it becomes attainable with meditation, which is the training ground for managing and quieting the mind.
Becoming the observer of our thoughts makes for a master of them. Thoughts are things. We create with our chosen thoughts. Thought forms are as much "alive" as you and I.

So true! Indeed, it's all a game! Uncertainty and figuring how to "win" makes the game worthwhile playing. Once there's certainty without a challenge, the game has ended. Time to start over.

I was crippled by fear my whole, my greatest fear was death. At the age of 55 I took pilot lessons and flew a plane by myself, it changed my life forever. I have zero fear of stepping into what ever God asks me to and I am definitely do not fear death. That was January 4 2018. My life is amazing and my best years are in front of me.

The greatest lesson I've learned in life is to not hold onto anything when it leaves. Feelings, thoughts, beliefs, fears, whatever. Feel it while you and let go when it leaves

The best way to overcome fear is to realize you don't have two choices, but three. You can choose to succumb to the fear and live in fear your whole life. You can choose to fight the fear, then you live an aggressive life chasing paths that lead to more fears, to fight. The real third choice is to ignore fear, and live a life with infinite possibilities and the paths you choose are yours. By ignoring all the uncomfortable paths through life, you open opportunities you never had before.

I believe accepting fear is the true path to peace and wisdom. Choosing to deliberately ignore something takes a certain amount of resistance, a manipulation of attention, which creates more friction and conflict in your life. Accepting means embracing and therefore not having a problem with it. It ceases to torment us and instead becomes a natural part of life, such as joy.
The only good in you is your awareness and the only evil is your ignorance.
@@sebastian6736 I'm not aware of any fear that acceptance resolves. Embracing fear means to live with it. Ignoring fear means you refuse to allow that part of your mind to dictate where you will go. There is no more resistance in turning away from fear and not allowing it to rule your life, than there is in deciding to be the master of your own destiny. Enjoy your path, it is not mine.

I notice, in my life,

It's just pain and trauma and survival and misery.
I live in poverty. I am ashamed of my life.

Rage and grief consume every cell of my being.

- a lack of boundaries
- perpetual aloneness

- trauma
- obsession/rumination

- spiritual attacks/curses

I basically discovered all this while taking a high amount of shrooms. But its so crazy while tripping because I KNEW It like I knew the sky was blue, and I realized the way I lived my life and the way I looked at everything previously was completely wrong. Then I woke up the next day and it was hard to see, but I'm slowly getting back to that point (: Much love!
Shrooms is magic, it's able to put you in a certain mind state and then has the ability to highlight and reveal EVERYTHING....

I did shrooms over 20 years ago. I still remember seeing the trees breathing, and every blade of grass and everything in nature was more alive and vibrant than I’ve ever seen it, it was a beautiful sight. But I can’t do that anymore, my old brain can’t take it

I realized these things when I was a kid, but I thought I was crazy. I fell into drug abuse and tried to suppress the thought that it was all an act. That thought scared the hell outta me, cause I was afraid of being alone in the universe, with the others being just "me".

This is another reason why 'I am' an Ex-Christian. I was never afraid of the fear, the religious right imposed on humanity/myself, and it helped me question everything I'm being told. I question the left and the right and everything in between. It's nice to be surrounded by such good people who are capable of thinking for themselves and making a stand with what they do believe, or don't. It really helps me understand the 'I am' in all my humanity.
The great man was a genious he knew so much that the vast majority don't! He certainly wasn't one of the sheep.
I watched this 3 days ago. I didn't even need to think about the one question. I pictured a spiral and laughed " How did you decide which way to turn?" I didn't expect an answer. The very next day I was aware in laughter. " what the enemy made for evil, you turn it for good"

When we ignore things that are bad, it is ignorance, for we only feed it by ignoring it. This is why our world is in chaos because people think by ignoring it, it will go away, which is the total opposite effect. We have to embrace it.
It's the same way with trauma actually. Interesting. Running away (denying it) just strengthens it and digs the hole deeper.
Where attention goes, energy flows. This is such a helpful mantra. Fearing something is just as good as making room in your life for whatever it is you fear. You attract what you're fearing by fearing it - bc where attention goes, energy flows.

Dr. Watts never ceases to inspire my mind to higher possibilities.
In the metaphysical assumptions about what this universe is all about - what the ultimate reality is, for thousands of years philosophers, Theologians and religious scholars have thought it through and through in the quest of knowing what this thing that we call existence is, fundamentally. A few people hold the pessimistic view that existence is a ghastly mistake and fundamentally there's nothing good about it. And that everything came as a result of spite.
Other metaphysicians on the other hand, hold the optimistic view that everything is good and that life is worth living.
Other group of scholars hold that although the world isn't perfect the way it is but it is worthy of improvement.
And then there are few individuals like Alan Watts who hold the idea that at the deep deep down, the whole thing isn't serious - that this thing which we call existence, fundamentally is akin to a wonderful work of art, as Alan Watts usually references in one of his popular phrases pointing to Hindu mythology - "the world is the drama (play) of God". And that there's nothing to be so serious about. It's all a wonderful illusion.
