I totally didn't expect this to turn up in a UA-cam list. I am a 50 year fan of all things JA. I found it surprisingly good. Didn't know Jack and Jorma had covered it recently. Good cover by the singer. Nothing wrong here. A bit of history lovingly done.
I don't know anything about Teresa Williams, but she does a great job. And it's funny: Sometimes no stage theatrics is better than major stage theatrics. In this performance she just stands there with her arms by her side and, until the song begins to build, stands and sings like she's a trance, which fits the first part of the song perfectly, and you don't expect her to use any dynamics. As her intensity builds, her arms remain by her side, and Jack Casady moves closer, at which point you witness some real unstaged synergy.
I believe if you can't do a song as well or better than the original, don't do it! White Rabbit is not for every vocalist but Jack helped her pull it off in the end, points for trying! Thanks for sharing this unique footage, I've subscribed to your channel & I look forward to watching more! Peace, love & freedom, rock on! ☮✨🎶❣
+bartsky1 Bit of a let down at the beginning of the song. She sure isn't a Grace Slick and I can't believe Jorma forgot the lead intro to White Rabbit. What he played didn't even really fit in. It finally came together about half way through, but was a bit disapointing to me. I was in high school when the song first came out and out 6-piece group (5-pc. plus girl singer) used to play that song.
+Dan Gracia that's the truth Dan! she sings like someone who never thought about the words of this song! it's rip ya heart out..don't shout but let it all out. I sing better because I'm emotionally invested in the sixties , and I saw Gracie on and off the stage. wanted to be just like her...by the time I was twenty years old I'd blown it. there's only one Slick.
Purists (of any subject, topic or issue) have their noses so far in the air that they can no longer see straight. I also suspect it hinders their hearing. Yes, Teresa Williams is not Grace Slick. So freakin' what? If you had been in the audience, you would have had goosebumps like everyone else did. She paid homage and managed to give it her own twist at the same time. Food on her. Good on Jorma and Jack. And good on the Midnight Ramble Band!
Agree with you there bud , Sometimes I wonder if those so called purists ever went to a live concert. And if they have , are they the ones who talk and critique the performance then switch to something off topic during the concert , and have to be told to STFU
Agreed! I've been an avid Deadhead since the Deads first album. I saw dozens of shows over the decades but Donna with her howling always made me cringe.
Yes she is. Larry Campbell, her husband is on the left playing guitar. Both are very talented. They played w levon helm alot. Been around for a long while
That, ladies and gentlemen, is how you play bass!
Ýou sir, are absolutely correct
crowd goes wild when Jack hits those first notes. Jorma's up second with killer intro; Teresa brings em home.
Damn!... that is badass and creepy at the same time!!!

Theresa rocks!
JA loves you
they still got it!!! they never lost it
Fantastic!
Sublime.
HAAYYYY!! I THNK SOMEBODY NEEDS TO CALL A CAB FOR THOSE OLD GUYS ON STAGE SO THEY CAN CATCH UP WITH THAT JACK CASSADY GUY!!
Sensational
Yes 👍!
Classic!
WOW!

Theresa and her husband Larry Campbell are really good musicians
"Stage theatrics" are for musicians who can't actually play, so they need to distract the audience.
Stage theatrics suck.
Jack has always owned this song.
Is that Larry Campbell playing rhythm?
I can name that song in 3 notes . 3 unbelievably beautiful famous notes
C'est là que l'on voit où le chant en temps qu'instrument est à lui seul l'élément qui détermine la direction de tout le reste !!!
Well that was damned cool!
Go HFT!
Good ol' G.E. Smith! 👏👏👏😎
Blown away! Teresa who? Crank that volume up to 11.
Crowd loved it.. That's all that matters.. And me too
I can count on you for the best footage from the best shows! Will I see you at City Winery on Sunday for a visit from East LA?
Thanks...Yes I'll be at CW

Yes indeed Deb, peace love and freedom except the freedom to play any tune you want any time and at any volume.
And how many CAN sing that song as well or better than Grace???
The important issue: unrepentant psychedelia
is that David Frieberg's wife ? I've seen them several times at the Saucilito arts festival, she does the best Janice
If you think Teresa sings "White Rabbit" well, you should hear her sing "Keep your lamps trimmed and burning".
Great to see old mates unashamed of being honest
Teresa rocks!! As does the rest of the gang.

that girl REALLY has Slick's spirit and if you look at her she is not just singing she is feeling it.
She's no gracie
She is not on the stage too be Grace Slick. Maybe you should watch some old videos of the Airplane!
Looks like Gollum

People ran this down? Who knew?
It's Jorma and Jack for God's sake. They created the Airplane's unparalleled sound--- unsurpassed to this day.
Be ahead after taking a psychedelic pill that makes you larger.
damn. teresa brings it.
Her voice is creepy, yet soothing in this rendition, and honestly, I much prefer it over Grace
Give it up already, it's over.
My gosh, who is this T. Williams? She's awful. Kinda reminds me of D. Godchaux with the Dead
scalemiester nobody was as bad as Donna Godchaux
scalemiester yeah ... agreed ... cant stand either
Agreed! I've been an avid Deadhead since the Deads first album. I saw dozens of shows over the decades but Donna with her howling always made me cringe.
Horrible!
I think the sound is bad here. Teresa is a far better singer than Gracie was.
No.
I don't think she can hear herself properly; her intonation is normally flawless.
Teresa has two Grammies.
BULLSHIT!!! haanashim you prolly weren't even alive when the Airplane was selling out the Fillmore East/West
Yes she is. Larry Campbell, her husband is on the left playing guitar. Both are very talented. They played w levon helm alot. Been around for a long while
Horrible singer - great song, but she really destroys it ... :-( :-( :-( ...
Totally disagree !
Go listen too some old Airplane Vidoes. Maybe you also will find some video of Hendrix, JohnnyWinter, Duane Alman, and so many others!
