Hi guys, I was thinking of trying the youtube premium plan but wanted to know how that effects youtubers like you. My wife thinks I'm crazy because I'll do just about anything to avoid commercials on TV but will sit through them for my favorite UA-cam channels like yours. I've explained that I don't mind helping people I like that are helping so many with their videos. I know it takes a lot to put out regular videos and I'd like to thank you again for doing such a great job that I won't have to worry about doing it myself when we hit the road next year.
Thanks you! Content creators make their money off of the ads shown on the videos. It isn't a lot of money, but does add up. We do appreciate the support, but know it is a personal choice.
These are nice upgrades that really refresh the interior look. (Go Phil). The materials and colours you chose look as if they were factory installed and not an aftermarket modification. (Go Phil). The other nice thing about making upgrades is that by default, you learn a bit more about how the coach is made and can complete ad-hoc repairs at the same time. (Go Phil) (Sorry Stacy, I couldn't resist, lol.) Thanks for sharing your renovation experience. :-)
Don't have any carpeting in our RV at all. When Tiffin said you have put carpeting in a motorhome because of the slides, the truth was THEY couldn't do it. Most high end RVs come without carpeting now. Mahlon Miller, former owner of Newmar Corporation, challenge his engineers to design a slide without carpeting and they accomplished it. They were the first production coach to do it.
Sandra Westley from the uk our vans come with vinyl floors throughout and also carpet pieces on top which have bound edges, you can use either then, if it hot take the carpets up, if it’s cold put then down. That’s just like our carpet comes all bound on the edge, the reason it moves is because you have carpet on carpet and it moves on the pile of the underneath carpet.
Looks great guys! We've used MSRV Solutions for several projects and their work has always been top notch. We took out all of our carpet and replaced it with carpet again back in 2019. MSRV Solutions did the whole project. We were VERY happy with their work.
Love watching you two! So real! So fun! Phil's I know what the guys are thinking. Your reaction! Hugs to you both! You're not just showing rving You're showing how to do it and stay married!
Hey. Hey ,hey , no not Fat Albert but you gave some information I would beat lots of folks didnt know. And that the thicknes of the flooring for the slides. I had let some mobile pressures washers wash my coach while out on the road. Not thinking nothing of it I drove home and parked my coach. Well spring came around to get on the road again. Opened the slides and almost passed out . In front of the dining table there was a huge white spot in my green carpet. What ever they using to clean my coach , using the pressure washer blowed the chemical in and bleached out my carpet. It was sickening . I tried to turn it in on my insurance but they said since I don't have a company name that washed my coach there wasn't anything they could do. But thank you, thank you for that information. Thats some great information about thickness. Your coach looks great , I know you guys are happy that you've had it done.
Hi Luis, How long ago did you install the floor? We have heard stories of twisting, ever so slight it would be could pop the floor. Have you had any issues?
We just purchased a diesel pusher and are doing some remodeling. Pulled all the carpet and tile out and getting ready to go back with laminate through everything. Thanks for the video
Wow great upgrade. Too bad you couldn't have of gotten rid of all the carpeting. As for the mats in the kitchen area, put a couple pieces of velcro (the male/rough side) under your mats and the velcro will grab onto the carpet better. As for Aunt Linda, you go girl 👍👍👍
Okay, the tweaking to the intro is perfection! The floor looks AMAZING - I love the color of the planks. I kinda wish we had gone with the lighter when we did our TT floor. It simply is stunning. The little things make such a huge difference. Really happy for you two. And thumbs up to aunt Linda! lol
I think that is one of the best "no brainer" upgrades for an RV. Immediate satisfaction and easier to keep clean. Looks better and brings "value" to an older RV too. We did away with all the carpet in our last RV and was SO happy with that change.
Just an FYI. I replaced the carpet in our Class A Motorhome with Vinyl Plank when we were Fulltimers and love it. However we are no longer Fulltimers so the RV is parked and winterized some winters. We found that the Vinyl Plank flooring expands and contracts more than we realized. We live in Wisconsin so temp variations of -20F to +90F has caused separation at some of the joints. BTW: I love what you did in yours.
Love how Aunt Linda is rocking a, "Today Is Someday" hoodie. Love seeing family supporting each other. Another great video, the rig looks great, safe travels you two.
Did a waterproof 6mm vinyl glooring and put wallpaper and mcd blinds in our 2004 american tradition. Tinted all the windows, added some led lights and its amazing how it made it look new. Nice video
Happy wife, Happy life. When any remodeling has to be done, I don't even argue, honestly by Best half always picks out the best anyway. Best of luck and thanks for sharing.
Nice job, came out looking great. I helped redo my parents a few years ago and it is a lot of work to do. Well worth paying someone else to do. Stay safe and you go Phil.
We did our ourselves. We removed ALL carler and put down pel and stick tile, dont remember the reason we did that! We put in a grayish color, no clue the name or brand, but also bought from Lowe's. It was fairly simple to do, easy to cut and fit. We had had to replace subflooring due to water damage.
Yep, I liked the intro much better, please don't tell me it was the same one you tested. The carpet looks good but for me I would have put carpet in the bedroom, I don't like waking up to cold floors, but that's me and not you. Keep the good stuff coming guys.
Quick (ok...maybe not so quick) note on vinyl plank flooring from a licensed contractor who's worked on RVs, mobile homes, and built and remodeled custom homes for 40 years with hands-on installations of tile, laminate, and vinyl plank flooring (VPF). You mostly get what you pay for---cheap VPF will have a very thin surface layer that carries the color and design details, and if you're on it much or drag things over it, it'll wear through in a year or less. And big box stores rarely sell VPF with the thickness of that top layer listed, but well-known brands that are at the upper end of the cost range almost always have a heavier, longer-lasting wear layer. The VPF that Phil and Stacy purchased was 6.5 millimeters in total thickness and probably had no idea that they should've checked to see its rated wear level thickness. The plank's top layer, the wear layer, is measured in mils, not millimeters and the thicker the mil's, the better. 12 mils should be the minimum you buy--and be sure to ask before you buy--and 20 mils (commercial grade) is a wiser investment if your on it much and have pets. And always, always do your online research before you go shopping!
To help stop the mats in the kitchen from moving around, attach clear plastic carpet runner to the back using spray adhesive. It's the stuff with the plastic spikes on the back. The spikes on the back of the runner come in different lengths, get the longest spikes you can find if your carpet has deep pile. Cut the clear runner about an inch or smaller than the mat and use spray contact adhesive to attach it. This is how I make the mats on corporate jet aircraft. If you are using carpet mats on the tile floor, use the spray adhesive to attach shelf liner to the back to stop the sliding. The second option is to glue the "hook" part of velcro in long 2" strips and the carpet won't move much on loop style carpet. But this damages the carpet every time you pull it up and make it fuzzy. Doesn't really work on "cut pile" carpet.
You can also get a piece of the carpet pad cushion to put between your new pads and the existing carpet (the thin waffle stuff that's heavier than the shelf liner stuff). Ruby looks really nice!
It seems RV industry is growing thanks to travel interest. Great to see the repair industry is holding up under Covid and that young people are pursuing those skills. It is difficult to find those talents these days. RV looks good. Great job.
Looks fantastic just a side note if the mats are something you like you can always possibly rebuy the same carpet at a later date and have someone bind the carpet into mats .... excellent choices thanks for letting us tag along
My 5th wheel doesn't have any carpet whatsoever anywhere. Totally Congolieum flooring and love it. One of the big reasons I picked an Alliance RV 5th wheel for boondocking. Easy and quick to clean the floors with just a broom and dustpan. To deep clean the floors we just use a Swiffer Wet Jet mop. If we spill coffee, liquids, or drop food we just grab paper towels and a dampened paper towel. Quick and easy. We only carry a good hand held vacuum for quick cleanups of dry spills i.e. coffee grounds, powders. The only thing close to carpet is our 2 matching bath mats in the bathroom and at the entry door. Carpet would be warmer on bare feet in colder weather, but that's why they make slippers! Really look forward to your videos. Thank you! Hoping to maybe meet you on the road some day. My older sister travels with me and guess what, she's a Navy veteran too. Lots of stories there!
We upgraded our floors right after we bought our rig. Wish I hadn’t put any carpet in. We eliminated most of it, but still have more than we needed. Oh well, it is what it is. I love what you guys chose. It looks great!
absolutely love your videos and how you go about showing what you're doing. It so informative and light hearted to just the genuine feeling of pride of ownership. Thank you for bringing this to all of us out here in UA-cam land. Travel safe friends...
We LOVE MS RV Solution’s!! Daniel and Carl are so incredibly professional and they do an AMAZING job on any project!!! Thanks for posting this! I was wondering about how it’s done and the cost!!
With everything I analyzed years ago when we was RV (15 yr or more ),If i could "turn back time" as Cher sing, I would NOT ,get sliders, and if change the floor -i would do sound and insulation rolls thru all rig ,then find good grade linoleum -doesn't matter if its planks, tiles or roll, get extra freezer in the basement ,and all lights -ALL ,be LED ,take out bankets ,put one slim cabinet along wall and put multifunctional table with chairs ,its take extra bulked space ,that not comfy ,cabinet would give storage , increase leg room ,and for guests get couple camping cots ,that way more comfy than those flexsteel couches. Because if manufacturers can't adjust ,we adjust by our selves. Of course not everything at once ,but if to do floors -do them right. And of course solar powered as much as possible ,not even huge roof panels ,but couple powerbanks resting on a dash can give lots of power ,plus solar generator -some big one is pricy ,but since its only 2 of us +dog ,i would go small ,but sufficient. It is lots of stuff great for RV in camping store and isles...We now start downsizing to go full time probably next year,or as soon as we can ,but ...lol 😂 😂didn't have RV yet - window shopping for now to be ready for new other life . I just discovered your channel and absolutely loved -honest and humorous. Thanks.LOOKING GREAT A+!
It all looks wonderful! For the mats in the kitchen maybe try some of the rubber no slip for rugs. I’ve watched your channel for awhile now and my husband does when I show him. You guys are a blessing for just being yourselves and all y’all do for so many. My husband is retired Army (we met soon after he was out) but working in corporate. We have had our 2015 Keystone Ultralight 2400BH travel trailer for 5 & 1/2 years now. He retires from civilian work in 2 or 3 more years (sooner if I could convince him 😊) and we look forward to traveling a lot more and volunteering in different areas as well. I enjoy driving and pulling the trailer and have shared a few thousand miles with her. Again thank you for being on UA-cam and sharing your experiences. 💕🦋🌷

Great looking upgrade. If you had commented to the installers about the carpet pad in front of the stove, they probably would have made it just a bit better. COMMUNICATION is key!
Be careful and do your research first before you buy or use stain guards--typically made of PFOS, PFOA, PFAS products, now known to bioaccumulate in human tissue and assoc'd with thyroid issues and 3 types of cancer. They're in teflon products, fast food boxes and wrapping, and in AFFF firefighting foam where I was exposed as a firefighter. Many lawsuits are underway now...so get online and do your research, and maybe just stick with the old-fashioned process of wiping up spills quickly and shampooing carpets and rugs when needed.
You could try those clips that are made to hold car mats in place. They have pins that would go into bottom carpet and then clips to top. Had some years ago, they worked pretty good. Thank You for all the great videos. GOD BLESS
Hi Phil and Stacy. The new flooring looks great. Nice choices. I think it is way better than what was there before. Hopimg you guys can enjoy it for years to come. God Bless. Safe Travels and Happy Trails!

Stacy how about that grippy stuff you put under carpet to keep it from sliding? Great video.
Thanks so much. Always enjoy you shows.

Any time!
Glad you enjoyed it...;)
Ol Carl and Daniel, Love those guys. They did our carpet last year! Heading back in June for more upgrades.
Have to agree - the colors and the new look are fantastic. Enjoyed this one.
Looks great. Why don’t you spray the kitchen mats with stain guard to protect them even more?
Be careful and do your research first before you buy or use stain guards--typically made of PFOS, PFOA, PFAS products, now known to bioaccumulate in human tissue and assoc'd with thyroid issues and 3 types of cancer. They're in teflon products, fast food boxes and wrapping, and in AFFF firefighting foam where I was exposed as a firefighter. Many lawsuits are underway now...so get online and do your research, and maybe just stick with the old-fashioned process of wiping up spills quickly and shampooing carpets and rugs when needed.
Looks great...I also admire how foxy Ruby's exterior looks...Showroom perfect...
Great idea
Aunt Linda, you rock! Love the new floors!
Thank you so much!
