- Well, I'm a board certified general surgeon now but I've embarked on a new journey - to become board certified in plastic and reconstructive surgery. I am 6 months in with 2.5 years left. Here is part of my journey.
Thank you for taking the time to film in addition to all your other obligations. You are showing us the real deal Nd we appreciate that
Thank YOU for taking the time to watch!! I appreciate you!
@@thedaisysanchezwe love you so much
If only people KNEW the amount the of training and time it takes to this point. So much talent! I look forward to seeing this part of your journey in surgery.
Soooooo much hard work! Thank you!
I don’t even know how you find the time to film and edit all these videos in between being a surgeon and a mom. RESPECT 🫡 TO YOU DOCTOR. You’re such an inspiration ❤
im a cop and some days its call to call to call to call and non stop. I have to much respect for doctors/nurses or anyone in the medical field. hard work! keep it going! it takes a special someone!
I have a lot of respect for what you do.
@ thank you!
Thank you so much! & thank YOU for your service!
I don’t understand why doctors have to work such crazy hours! You deserve rest and sleep
You are amazing ❤
Honestly, sometimes I have no idea how we do it either
It’s a tough gig. Take care of you. You are correct in stating something has to change before a huge error occurs
Yes, the reality is the system is more about making money than education of residents.
I am in awe of surgeons!! My brain can’t wrap around that type of intelligence, May God continue to bless u!! 🙏☀️🙏☀️🙏☀️🙏
I cannot thank you enough for these videos. As a med student deciding what to apply into next year, it's really helpful to understand and see the nuances of a possible future life in surgery and plastic surgery. You are truly an inspiration and please know your hard work is motivating so many of us to keep going in what we are passionate about. Get some well deserved rest!!
So glad to see you back Dr. Daisy!💗
Hope you’re always doing well and catching a break and getting rest how you need! Love these vlogs and thank you for doing the work that you do 💗
It’s amazing and inspirational that you do all this in the first place but especially with a child! You’re almost there & I can’t wait to see it! ❤️
Hey Daisy, thank you for sharing your life with us! Have always admired your work ethic and find it amazing how you balance it all - especially having your gorgeous daughter to care for too! I work as a medical resident in NZ, and have always had mad respect for the surgical residents - the long hours, bazillion consults & sometimes tough culture/hierarchical system in surgery is A LOT. God bless & Hat off to you! ❤
you know im a premed and looking at you inspires and motivates me alot.keep it up.btw you're quite beautiful and have the most heart melting smile
Major props to you Dr Daisy bc on top of everything that you do you still manage to film everything for us. Thanks! You’re an inspiration
Dear God, please bless and protect Dr. Daisy Sanchez 🙏
Thank you so much!
The fact that you signed up for a fellowship👏🏼👏🏼 that extra training is no joke!! Keep working hard! You are killing it
Yay!! I was so happy to see this upload. You are such a busy woman, thank you for sharing
Thank you so much! My goal is to upload a bit more this year!
Thank you for sharing this journey with us, I’ve been watching your vids for a while now and so happy to see you as a fellow. I hope you get some good rest soon❤
Just got off my surgery rotation and I truly couldn’t fathom how the residents were surviving. You are an absolute beast🤯. Doctores latinas represent 😤🫶🏼💪🏽
O’no😢 I’m sorry you lost your footage. On the bright side we’ll enjoy whatever footage you share with us ❤
Welcome back Dr. Daisy you inspire me a lot. I hope to be like you in a couple years ❤
I love watching your videos! You’re my role model! I’d like to become a doctor and this is very motivational to me as you are one of the few Latino doctors here in the US. Thank you! 😊
DAISY YOU HAVE NOT ONLY MASTERED OVER SURGERY BUT ALSO TIME MANAGEMENT.....BEING A MED ASPIRANT I ALWAYS STAY TUNED FOR YOUR GROUND BREAKING VIDS... LOADS OF 💓 STAY SAFE AND ALWAYS BE OUR EVER SMILING 🌼
I think only us in the medical field truly know exactly how much work goes into all of this! I am very thankful for ur vlogs hopefully bringing some insight to those that do not know how tough and grueling it actually is, and hopefully, the next time we ask for better conditions we are met with support rather than being tagged as money hungry!
You are amazing!!! You inspire me so much, even though I am not nearly working as hard as you/fellow resident from Sweden. Ps. Come work in Sweden - we rarely work more than 40 hours a week even as interns/residents 😉😎🙏
i just know all the hard work will be worth it. jealous of the live you’re going to live!! very admiring
Daisy,
Congrats on passing your boards! Huge accomplishment! ❤❤
Honestly you keep me smiling on my medical journey ☺️. Thank you Dr.. 😊
holaaaa Doctora Daisy! i’ve worked in healthcare for over 10 years in various roles (vivo en washington) and I’ve always admired and wondered what the lives of my docs are like and girl you are 👏🏾 doin 👏🏾 the 👏🏾 workkkkkk. I am thankful the algorithm brought you to my life bc I am loving your content. sending you love and sleep energies from my lil world to yours!

Omg Daisy you rock! You do all this and still workout, be an amazing mother and vlog for us 🙏 May God give you strength
Thank you for you vlogs Dr. Sanchez! I'm a third year med student, aspiring general surgery applicant
you motivate me so much esp with your crazy work scheudle
It’s my first time seeing your videos & gonna binge watch more! Just wanna say how cool it is that your kids speak Spanish!! As a fellow Latina, it makes me so proud to see the younger generation keep our beautiful language alive 🥹🩷
I am literally getting flashbacks of my O&G fellowship. I'm grateful boards are done. Auto-pilot is it. 36 hour stretches are deadly
Yay! Dr Daisy is back. Wishing you a wonderful 2025.
Thank u for ur services 😊❤ . My daughter had surgery on her ear to remove a mass I’m so grateful for surgeons like yall 😊😊😊
I watch you whileim working . You are goals
Yay your back! Love your videos
tank you for your videos and for the time that you take to document everything. its just amazing and i feel so bad for your work schedule its inhumane and you all are awesome
Thank you for sharing ❤! Could you also make an honest video on how to deal with stress and responsibility especially in the very beginning of residency, both general surgery (this must have been tough since it was a very big shift for one coming from school to the real world) and plastic surgery. I would appreciate it since I'm in the similar position. Kind regards and wishing you all the best and happy new year!
You are such a G! Way to pull through!
Once you said what you said about traffic and the rain I knew exactly where you were 🤭 welcome to TX!
Small town funeral director here, On-Call 30 days a month, lol I appreciate your motivation to keep moving.... and keep it up!
You are amazing!!!! ❤
if you’re not ready for real change, skip the book Magnetic Aura by Takeshi Mizuki, it’s too much for most people.
💙💜🩵 omg so tough!! Hope you got proper rest afterwards
Welcome back Dr Daisy I hope you had a good holiday season much love love kyle hope you keep warm
Loving the dark blue scrubsss❤❤❤❤
Such a great inspiration!
It's good to know that you can still go into plastic surgery after general. You're a huge inspiration, especially being able to get everything done that you do on top of rigorous training. Could you do your talk more about your journey and if it's more challenging to get in or be accepted than if you went straight into a plastic surgery residency or a combined plastic + general?
Thhhaaannkkk you for alllllll that you do 🙏♥️🥰
Always bangers from Dr Sanchez ❤
ahhhh Dr. Sanchez you are so cool and I look up to you!!!
So in theory you are expected to work all day , be on call all night and then work again the next day ???!!!!!!!!!! Absolutely insane and I can’t believe it’s not illegal . This doesn’t happen in Australia - why is it happening in America ?
America has terrible work conditions compared to Australia and let’s be real, most other developed countries…
Thank you for a new video. I missed it
Can you do a vlog on how you studied for your boards while you were super busy. what worked for you =). maybe you recorded some in the past...
❤❤❤❤❤ stay blessed 😇😇😇😇
Gracias por decir eso… a veces solo es recordar que tenemos una voz and just speak up! ❤
We are allowed to complain!!! Life is hard sometimes!!
Love this!
The getting out of front door was giving such meredith grey vibes 😢
When!?
You should call Apple and see if they can restore the deleted files. If you have automatic backups enabled, you can probably recover them as well.
How do you manage a healthy schedule with your daughter ? I’m a SAHM and totally inspired by you but worry I wouldn’t be able to have help with my mommy duties as we live away from all friends and family. 😅
I very strongly recommend you don't leave your car keys near the front door like that.
Car thieves can steal your car.
With modern cars the car detects if the keys are in the car.
Car thieves can use a device with an aerial, booster and transmitter to pickup the electronic signals from right outside your front door and make the car think the keys are in the car.
If you get a metal biscuit tin next to your bed and just leave your car keys in that then the electromagnetic signals won't go far enough for the car thieves to detect.
I love you Daisy ❤
Praise the lord. The people need to see the real lives of our surgeons and medical doctors and how they are mistreated. This is not safe. Verbiage in polices need to be clearly defined and the ones on the frontline should definitely define what adequate rest means. No one should have to give up their liberty, life no matter how skilled they are.
We need your skincare recommendations, u have no dark eyes after that shift! 😅
Love your vlog
Wow you are amazing
Love this vid and your honest thoughts on the medical industry’s antiquated and unhealthy expectations of doctors. That being said you’re an absolute inspo to everybody!🫶🏼
I love these videos 🫶🏼
my digestive system could never!! drink a glass of milk I would go up in flames 🔥
You work your ass off. Wow.
The fact that you still film and upload videos while ur tired must be so draining but I appreciate the content from you, feels so good to see a Mexican American working as a DR🥹💗don’t give up ! Remember why you started 🤍
Congratulations, doctor. Could u have gone straight to plastics or u have to finish gen surg first? thank youuuuu
How did you do it financially over the past few years? really considering going the same route, curious to know what you would advise knowing what you know now. And would your opinion be different with a different time schedule?
In New York there a Libby Zion law named after a patient who died after a resident who was exhausted gave inadequate care. I guess other states don’t do that.
Love your vids! What do you film on?
Love your vlogs so much! I’m very removed from the medical world but what is your plan after fellowship doc? Is there more training or are you done at that point? Ty!
Most interesting.
You did the dang thing!
omg not 21 spurs lane 😫😫 I work here aswell !!
6:25 - 7:45 thats the type of nonsense i do not miss at all working in hospitals. constant crazy hurdles appearing out of nowhere.
Question! Do you have to pay, like a fee, everytime you apply to fellowships/residencies? Since its technically training or considered school? Or is it like applying to a job - love your videos, youre an inspo
How do keep organized with your schedule? Do you use a planner? Or just phone calendar? And app?
how much more time is it going to take for you to have a set schedule or is it going to be like this forever 😭 because I’m currently doing pre-med for dermatology but I’m worried it’ll be like this forever even after fellowship
Girl how are you functioning they are working you! 😭
My wife is Hopkins/Mayo trained. Rest lol There was no such thing. She couldn't say she was tired. I guess training is different now. Probably a good thing. Some chairman's are tyrants. She would have given anything for 4 hours of sleep. A lot of new plastics to make ends meat will do closings for faux Mohs (society trained vs College trained) surgeons. Some patients want plastics to close. That usually doesn't happen with College trained docs. Always a laugh when patients say "I like the other surgeon better he/she always does it in one layer and doesn't make me wait in the waiting room taking multiple layers" It takes some time to build up a practice so just an idea. Introduce yourself to the derms in your area also. Some patients insist on plastics for squeems and BCC's.
LIKE THE VIDEO AND COMMENT YALL SHE ALREADY SAVING LIVES, LETS HELP HER CHECK AT LEAST!!!!
Thought this lady was done after gen surgery residency. I guess training never stops
Wow how is it allowed to have your nails colored during surgery days
Doctors and nurses should work like truck drivers …your only allowed to work certain amount of hours and document certain amount of actual sleep.
They allow surgeons in the US to paint nails?
Yes, just no long nails and no acrylics.
@MrsYoung0925 oh I see. Here in europe in some countries they make women cut the nails and no paint (at least for medical students starting clinics) that is why I was wondering
is that an oura ring? what are your thoughtsss on it
❤❤
Hi! Does your daughter speak English as well? Ive only seen her speak Spanish.
Where did you get your nose job 👃🏼??
Magnetic Aura book by Takeshi Mizuki ain’t for everyone, it’s for people who actually want to get ahead.
❤
Driving and filming is a no-no! There are other drivers on the road, and as a doctor, you should respect them.
