It has a backseat because it was going to cost too much to redevelop a single seat one because these Eagles are developed from the E-model. When a mission calls for single seat, the backseat is going to remain empty, otherwise it's probably going to be used for comms, EW and drones or stuff

Don't worry, Eagle guys have not seen an Eagle move like that either. I posted this to Boeings twitter post, but 2D thrust vectoring would bring F-22-like physics defiance to the Eagle. As for the backseater, there was contention on 1 or 2 seats for the EX in the community. I personally believe the back seater will evolve into a SA + wingman drone operator when that tech matures, hence the pushback from BigAF requiring 2 seats for all EX models. In the mudhen community I hear you can teach the backseater to hit tankers if you bribe him/her with some good beef jerky but I can't confirm, I never flew mudhens. Anti-social C 4 lyfe.
Back in the early 90s there were thrust vectoring prototypes tested for the F-16 and, I think, also the F-15. The performance achieved was mind boggling, allowing the aircraft to literally achieve -180 degree angle of attack, which is flying north and pointing south. These were 3D vectored systems, too. I have always been disappointed that the technology wasn't adopted for production back THEN. It was "relatively" inexpensive, costing about 1 million more dollars to integrate to an F-16, and a bit more for an F-15.
It's for VIP rides since every USAF fighter since F-22 is a single seat. The last incentive or VIP fighter ride will be done in either an F-15EX or F-16D, sometime in the 2050s if we make it there. Unless NGAD-A has a tandem seat arrangement.
That airframe of the F-15 is 10 times better than the f-22 it is and has always been! Put som vectoring on the engines and you will see a straight f-22 killer and the best jet fighter of all time again! It is still the best with the old combat record that speaks for itself!
The New Eagle must have fully modern fly by wire. And almost certainly a further aft CG, closer to, or beyond the Neutral Point. This would be a logical improvement from a physics standpoint, given computer augmented stability. A more aft CG than required for natural static longitudinal stability is going to give an improvement both maneuverability and also fuel efficiency and range. Going from +10% Margin to 0% will likely double it's pitch authority and cause a divergent pitch rotation, only prevented from loss of control with the fly by wire system. It will also increase range by at least 5%, possibly 10%. Ditto for payload. Because You don't have a tail down-load to balance the forward CG. And therefore all of that tail down force is gained in additional lift at no cost. Great demo. Love the Eagle. Glad they are keeping it alive, as its the perfect platform for unescorted precision strike missions where a Wizzo can handle the targeting workload.

Yup. It seems to be based off of DFLCS CLAWs from the Super Hornet to me, blended with Eagle-specific flight control systems and surfaces. If you strip an Eagle down and push it with-229s or F110s, it will literally leap off the runway in very short time/distance and go into the vertical with ease.
@@major__kong Yeah, the switch to digital fly-by-wire makes this essentially an entirely new fighter with greatly expanded performance and weapons capabilities. Now the USAF needs to get a bunch.

Every single second of difficulty spotting or targeting this thing is it just killing an enemy that much quicker. The Eagle has always been ridiculously overpowered in terms of thrust. Now it's maneuverable like a Raptor as well. And it seriously looks like they've been throwing in blended body bits around the engines over the top like an Su-57 has. Even the inlets are less "boxy" looking. It's clearly still an Eagle, but it's also very clearly a WHOLE NEW fucking beast. I'm still amazed, how big the F15 is, I've seen once one up close. My dad and I were intimidated by the size. We only have 2 F35A's and a lot of F16's.

New F-15 variants are still going to be an amazing operations and test platform that will be serving the USA and allies for another 25 years minimum...likely way more than that. It's still a big, fast, tough jet with a lot of spare room to try out new weapons and tech. Sure, without stealth it won't go to certain places,. but it will be able to stay outside harms way and be a platform to launch a lot of long range missiles, control swarms of drones, hunt stealthy cruise missiles, act as a comms node etc.... Oh...and two seats? That means joyrides again for retired Generals etc in fast jets, something that was not possible with F-22s and F-35s ...
They made my favourite airframe even better. Mudhens are T H I C C girls and Gonky's right, that thing is pulling turns like a Hornet. No way in hell could you do that in an Echo

F404 has gotten power increases already. F414 adds even more power for the Super Hornet, though weight increased too. A Baby Hornet with F404-GE-412s has the best T/W ratio of all Hornets.
@@LRRPFco52 That can happen, yes, but when you pour on the coals, they are less efficient. And when carrying more load due to added thrust/HP, then you also use more fuel. Nobody ever adds capability and doesn't use it to the max, especially the military.
@@SoloRenegade For Finland and other FMS customers who don’t carry a lot of weight, it was a nice upgrade. Super Bugs definitely get clapped-out, especially with those stupid splayed-out pylons adding crazy parasitic drag to the airframe. I’ve watched it all unfold since the LWF competition at Edwards AFB when it was the YF-17. I had books and brochures that pre-date the F/A-18, where the YF-16 was red, white, black, and blue and the Cobra was silver and black. Biggest thing that stood out were their leading edge root extensions. This was in the age where the F-4 was still the mainstay, with the F-15 just barely entering service.
Can't have one. It is just too worthwhile. The USA wants worthless jets that cost hundreds of billions to develop, then it does not work when it shows up. What good is a F-35 if it has to have a F-15 to carry weapons? My opinion, we had then beat without the F-22 and F35. All we did was enrich the militarized industrial complex and got zip in return. I guess you could say that the F-35 gave us the F-15EX, so with that, it did serve a purpose.
The video of the flying was horrible due to the too quick edits. I really wanted to see the new Eagle do its stuff. I still want to gag hearing “Boeing F-15”.
Despite all the fancy stuff about 5th Gen, the reality is that WW3 is gonna be fought with upgraded Eagles and Super Hornets and there is no getting around it.
Just a couple of cents worth of opinion if I may.The F-15 Eagle is one of the most successful fighter jets in the world, and it has been in production since the 1970s. As the decades have passed, the jet has seen many improvements to its design, including the addition of modern avionics and advanced weaponry. The latest variant of the F-15, the F-15EX, is the most advanced version yet, and it has been outfitted with many features that make it almost as capable as the F-22 Raptor. The F-15EX has been designed with improved speed, maneuverability, and range, allowing it to perform maneuvers that are very similar to those of the F-22 Raptor. It has been outfitted with modern avionics and advanced flight computers, allowing the jet to perform more complex maneuvers and operations. It also has the ability to fire long-range missiles and air-to-air missiles, making it a formidable air-to-air combatant. The F-15EX has also been designed to be more cost-effective than the F-22 Raptor, making it an attractive option for the US military. With its improved capabilities, the F-15EX could potentially replace the F-22 Raptor as the US military's primary air-to-air fighter. This could save the US military billions of dollars in the long-term, as the F-15EX is much cheaper than the F-22 Raptor. Overall, the F-15EX is a very capable fighter jet that is capable of performing many of the same maneuvers as the F-22 Raptor. With its improved capabilities, cost-effectiveness, and advanced avionics and flight computers, the F-15EX could potentially replace the F-22 Raptor as the US military's primary air-to-air fighter. Just a few irrelevant comparisons between the two aircraft. If I had to pick my weapon of choice. I'd find this to be a dilemma. Despite the stealth capability of the F-22 Raptor vs the F-15EX Eagle which has none. I'm glad you have 15 is on our side. The comparisons are as follows: The F-15EX Eagle has a turning radius of 3,000 ft, while the F-22 Raptor has a turning radius of 2,400 ft. The stall speed of the F-15EX is around 116 mph, while the F-22 Raptor has a stall speed of around 120 mph. The climb speed of the F-15EX is around 44,000 ft/min, while the F-22 Raptor has a climb speed of around 50,000 ft/min. Turning Radius: F-15EX Eagle: 30.1 m F-22 Raptor: 15.2 m Stall Speeds: F-15EX Eagle: 134 knots F-22 Raptor: 118 knots Climb Speeds: F-15EX Eagle: 66,000 ft/min F-22 Raptor: 57,000 ft/min Other Comparisons: F-15EX Eagle: - Maximum speed of Mach 2.5 - Maximum takeoff weight of 81,000 lbs - Maximum altitude of 65,000 ft - Advanced avionics and weapons systems F-22 Raptor: - Maximum speed of Mach 1.82 - Maximum takeoff weight of 83,000 lbs - Maximum altitude of 65,000 ft - Extremely low radar signature - Ability to air-to-air refuel and carry weapons internally I love you ! Thank you so much for what you do. I can't thank you guys. I am a fan of you all forever!!❤
Nope. The F-15EX will never replace the F-22 raptor. The maneuverability is due to it being slick. F-15s never fly slick in combat. When you put CFTs and external fuel tanks on the EX, it is heavy as fuck. Additionally, it doesn't have stealth, which stops it from being a day one first wave fighter. It's not going to replace the F-22.
@@Anderson_Hwang I'll go back over and reread what I typed. But I am sure I did not make that inference. Please explain to me where did I say that it was going to replace the F-22 Raptor. I made it explicitly clear that my opinion was completely subjective and made no inference to the F15EX Eagle replacing the Raptor BTW. I covered the differences in the stealth spectrum of capabilities.
The "And you're out of gas" comment is comical. The F-15 can haul more payload and gas that most any fighter. Who takes off first, more than holds their own in the fight, bingos out all the other jets and lands last at Red Flag? Who hit all the targets in Desert Storm that the Viper could not reach?? Answer - the Eagle. Who achieved Air Superiority? Answer - the Eagle. Nice swipe at the WSO. I'm sure you F-16 guys are all great fighter pilots and graduated in the top of your class. It's just too bad there were not enough Eagles on assignment night, and you had to settle for lesser jets! And Hornet drivers...what were you thinking flying for the Navy and Marine Corps? Spend a large portion of your life capping the fleet (very little tactics or training. How's the gas? how's the wx, hit the tanker)) and living with a bunch of dudes.

Ever seen a SU-30 series fighter?😁
Yup...

Just say it’s magic!
100:1 kill ratio says everything

4 have been added since the Balkans. Syria campaign gave some grapes to the F-15E.
EAGLE!! 👍🏼🤠🇨🇦Wish Canada would buy 100rd to vo with the f35 they need a good interceptor.
Love the F-15 my favorite fighter ever. Please don't sell the new one to anyone keep it here in America. Let them worry about us
That’s what we flight control engineers do!
They made my favourite airframe even better. Mudhens are T H I C C girls and Gonky's right, that thing is pulling turns like a Hornet. No way in hell could you do that in an Echo
Lord Have Mercy. The Best F-15 Demo I have ever seen. Rivaled the one I saw at Eglin AFB back in 1977.
I had Wondered if it was a Qatari Pilot. No , they are not ready for this 😅. The F-15 is still the Business. 👍🏽🙏🏽💕💥😅
Still got tiny tiny rudders.
Do you think they would ever upgrade the Hornet’s engine to give it more power?
F404 has gotten power increases already. F414 adds even more power for the Super Hornet, though weight increased too.
A Baby Hornet with F404-GE-412s has the best T/W ratio of all Hornets.
more power = less range
@@SoloRenegade TSFC often gets more efficient when more power is added, meaning more performance for the same amount of fuel.
Duly impressed.
dude its moving like a su35 and f22
I want one too😊
Al Udeid... 6 months of my life I can never have back. I'd be happy to never see the dirty Deid again.
LOL!
It’s very nice here in Doha, lol.
My single word for this one, Bonkers….
"The hook is sooo small" XD
“Moves like a Hornet” …betting they slapped the Super Hornet FBW system into an Eagle with huge engines 👍👍👍. Boeing St Louis baby 👍.
EX is my vote.
Dig it!!!
The "Superbird"
I'm gonna guess you guys all saw this already? Another F-15QA. ua-cam.com/video/9NUAjWlNCY4/v-deo.htmlsi=FB1wvneiYE7cdDPq
Tejas is best fighter jet
Eagle 4 lyfe
FU, this is coming from a F-15E WSO who did the first night of Desert Storm and has over 2000 hours in the F-15E!
Did you know Bob "Ruthmo" Ruth?
Of course I did. I knew him in F-4s and then the F-15E all at Seymour.

Well Said Reno!!
Boomer Sooner Mr. Chief Test Pilot!
The comparisons are as follows:
The F-15EX Eagle has a turning radius of 3,000 ft, while the F-22 Raptor has a turning radius of 2,400 ft.
The stall speed of the F-15EX is around 116 mph, while the F-22 Raptor has a stall speed of around 120 mph.
The climb speed of the F-15EX is around 44,000 ft/min, while the F-22 Raptor has a climb speed of around 50,000 ft/min.
Turning Radius:
F-15EX Eagle: 30.1 m
F-22 Raptor: 15.2 m
Stall Speeds:
F-15EX Eagle: 134 knots
F-22 Raptor: 118 knots
Climb Speeds:
F-15EX Eagle: 66,000 ft/min
F-22 Raptor: 57,000 ft/min
Other Comparisons:
F-15EX Eagle:
- Maximum speed of Mach 2.5
- Maximum takeoff weight of 81,000 lbs
- Maximum altitude of 65,000 ft
- Advanced avionics and weapons systems
F-22 Raptor:
- Maximum speed of Mach 1.82
- Maximum takeoff weight of 83,000 lbs
- Maximum altitude of 65,000 ft
- Extremely low radar signature
- Ability to air-to-air refuel and carry weapons internally
I love you !
I made it explicitly clear that my opinion was completely subjective and made no inference to the F15EX Eagle replacing the Raptor
BTW. I covered the differences in the stealth spectrum of capabilities.
None of that was your opinion...
Mer ik ah
I just saw a chinese fighter pilot watching this with his jaw wide open...as if he saw his life flashes in front of his eyes 😂
LOL!
Turkey Fanboys on suicide watch….oh what Tomcat21 could been yada yada
That thing maneuvers like a Flanker. But it still can't do a cobra.
Air Show Manuever
Boomer!
