During the current war in Ukraine, me and my friends have been running our diesel trucks on vegetable oil or motor oil. The filtration method you used here is good enough, but for better efficiency we use centrifugal machine made by us. The best way we use the fuel is by mixing it with diesel. we often go 70-30 ratio, 30 being diesel. The used motor oil gave us better performance than vegetable oil. Also, the need for better filtration is to remove water as well from the oils. Vegetable oil is better if you use a solvent and let it sit for a week before you mix it with diesel. Black diesel or used motor oil/lubricant can be used right away after filtration.

The best solution is to have a second tank + low pressure pump + fuel filter allowing you to switch back and forth like those LPG conversion kits. So you start on diesel (no cold start issues) , switch to waste oil once the engine is warm, and then you switch back to regular diesel before you turn it off...so it does one clean of the injectors. I used to run my diesel bullet on used cooking oil. Cooking oil which was used for frying fish and chicken. Only thing I had to do was replace the cheap diesel filter earlier than usual which I used to do myself.

There's nothing to add. It's TOTALLY illegal unless there was a major problem with the old engine. And moreover u have to prove to the RTO there was a problem with the old engine and the new engine conforms to the standards for the car, making it a very tedious process.

I think IDI is better than DI for this purpose, because fuel is injected into prechamber and quickly mixes with air, can easily auto ingnition occurs
