We bought a used fiesta diesel 2006 model upgrading from an Indica. We bought it in 2011. It already ran around 60k while we bought it. Didn't have enough information then to check whether the service history was intact. Rest of the things seemed good. In the first month of owning, we planned for our first long trip to Mysore. This is our first long trip in around 2 years. Loaded the car up with everything. We had 2 units of 20L cans for water and a lot of food. Around 100-150 kms in, we are pushing the car because it's kind of the first time we got the chance to do that. We are at Thrissur going at around 120kmph. We hear a noise. And the accelerator is not working anymore. Pulled over and got to know that the timing belt broke. Called up a flat bed, took a taxi. We had so much luggage that we couldn't fit that into and Indigo. Then repaired but the timing belt broke again in next 30k kms. From then the car started having lot of issues. Issue with starter motor, coolant consumption. We have made more than a kilometre block in Coimbatore town. We have even made police men to push our car to jump start it. We always kept a 20L can of water and used to fill it up instead of coolant. Because the coolant level used to go down in 100-150 kms and it didn't make any sense to fill up coolant anymore. It started to cost more than fuel. Due to overheating, when the car is at around 70-80kmph, we will put the car in neutral so that the car doesn't heat up. One good thing about that was, we got 33-35kmpl mileage. There was a lot of smoke out of the exhaust pipe. If someone came behind us, literally they can't see what's going on infront. At the end, we decided we can't do this anymore. So we went ahead and did an engine swap with that of a newer figo. But that didn't work out either. At the end we decided, that's it. We were pushing the car through the road with hands more than it ran on diesel. So we didn't want to do anymore of this and anyone else to suffer for this and the car finally ended up in Thrissur pattalam market for scrappage. All this happened in a matter of three years. We have owned 5 cars till date. This was one of the worst experiences. Can't complain about the model per se. Because my uncle bought the same car and he was using it till 2 years back.
ഞാനും.. എന്ത് കിടു ചാനൽ ആയിരുന്നു.. ഇവർ തമ്മിലെ കെമിസ്ട്രിയൊക്കെ വേറെ ലെവൽ ആയിരുന്നു. Hope one day they will solve the issue b/w them if any and start this channel again 😢❤️
My experience was more or less same with JD's. About 10 years back i bought Maruti Suzuki Ecco 5 seater and converted into 7 seater by adding 2 captain seats at the second raw and bench seat in third raw from wagon R.( By thinking it's the cheap and best 7 seater with in the budget of below 4 Lakh ) Apart from that I spend around ₹25000/- extra on music system, central locking and other accessories on it. After doing all these things I sold it within 10 months of purchase due to non practicality as a family car. Today I went back to that old memories after watching your episode. Good content 👍
@@SachuSanil As I said, it's not that practical as a Family car in terms of ride comfort, handling or charm. Only thing is you can just commute from A to B with 7 persons in it... that's it. Don't expect anything else apart from that . Just a work horse.... good for rural areas.
for me, it was my decision of buying classic 350 over 500. for the sake of mileage, I made a huge sacrifice. I sold it off this January. Used it for almost 5 years with a half heart
I have started to binge watch your videos now. Believe me, it's highly addictive. I introduced this channel to my dad and this is his second favourite UA-cam channel after Safari. (He has only subscribed to 2 channels; safari and talking cars). Keep rocking guys ❤️❤️
Sometimes, the cars we buy will be good products but not relavent to our age. Buying a tall boy (more suited to carry elderly) when we are bachelors, then buying a polo when we are a family of 5, a newly wed couple buying a 7-seater (mostly carrying the husband and wife only)... Such untimed decisions also cause life long regrets. We will not be able to enjoy a good car when we own them.
Jd and vivek jii I must say this is the best automobile channel I came across. Not like the typical car reviews in which the reviewer take half an hour to walk around the car ....
Can you guys do a video on "What car you would buy new" in different categories like "First small hatchback", "Premium hatchback", "Mid-size sedan", "Full-size sedan" etc..?
After watching /following your channel, i became a '' smart auto expert". I am giving smart advices to my colleagues and friends about Cars. 🤣. I am copying your comments.... Anyway you people are the automobile encyclopedia of kerala... Congrats.. 👌. If i want to see the vehicle i do watch others, want to know details about the vehicle do watching you people. Congrats..... All the best brothers...., 👏👏👏👏👍
Exactly, I think it could one of vivekji's editing tricks, they might be sitting in the car parked in the driveway of their house with visuals of roads streaming by.😂
We bought a used Fiat Linea once, had it for about 2 weeks or so, didn't use it much but when it was taken out for a trip, it showed some issues with the engine and it wouldn't stop revving. We called up the used car dealer and told him about the issue and luckily he agreed to exchange the car for a Ford Fiesta (which we used for a very long time later on). They had to take the Linea on a flatbed and travel around 100 kms back to their mechanic.
We bought a new Linea Facelift diesel on 2014 , it was a base model and I think at that time with all the offers and all we got it for about 8.5 - 9 lakhs onroad. Used it for the next 5 years and it clocked about 1.5 lakhs in the odo. We sold it off on 2019 and bought a city diesel. Linea was a great car though. It had some turbo related issues if driven too much enthusiastically.
@@bestcarpicks When we went to buy the car, we liked Linea the most. The car was really nice, especially to drive. But unfortunately, this issue happened and I was quite sad that it did. It was a 2009 1.3L MJD emotion pack if I remember correctly.

Working overseas for five years allowed me to save enough money to purchase a special car. And STi hooked me up with an EVOX, which I was excited to spend all of my life savings on because it was a dream come true. Unfortunately, my Achan advised me to avoid buying a 2011 Mitsubishi and instead purchase a newer German vehicle. The worst decision I've ever made, and I still regret it.
Vivek's CRV experience was quite nice. When I went to Ireland in 2009, I bought a used Opel Corsa for EUR 2,000 from a used car dealer. When I bought insurance online, that cost me EUR 1,300 for the first year. Within 3 months' time, I had to come back from Ireland suddenly due to the recession. When I approached the same dealer to sell back the car, he happily offered me " You are my good friend from India. We like India and Indians because both of us hate the British. I will buy back your car at "Deal In price". You keep the car with you till the time you go, and bring it to me just before you are ready to travel". I was so happy and thanked the British in my mind. Finally the day before my travel I took the car to the dealer and the gentleman (Mr. Brian Elder), opened his drawer and handed over two EUR 100 notes. With a lot of bargains and recommendations from a common friend, finally, he gave me EUR 300.
Three purchase regrets in my life 1) Indica 1.4 L Petrol - Horrible mileage and always in workshop 2) TVS Apache RTR 180 - Makes our body numb due to vibrations 3) Honda Amaze CVT Petrol - Lethargic performance and uninspiring steering feedback.
Hemme old Apache 😬 head ache to maintain when they cross a certain mileage things changes upside down parts availability is not existed Things like carb self motor is expensive has hell mechanic hates it
With respect to Two wheelers, the biggest mistake was on my purchase of Honda Shine over Unicorn and Yamaha Gladiator , in 2006. At that time, I was a newbie in terms of riding geared vehicles. So could not differentiate much on test rides. I had to ride 90 Km every day, and soon understood the negatives of Honda shine like rock hard shock absorbers, engine vibrations post 60 kmph ,which is very unlikely for a Honda, etc. Had sold Shine with in 2 years for almost half the purchase price. After wagon R, and Honda Shine, I realized that, more than power, what I value/like more is engine refinement, plush ride quality and smooth gearshift. My current vehicle is Ertiga, which satisfies these, and based on my prior experience, did a proper test ride of Ertiga, on my regular commute routes, and after that only, made the purchase.
Very nice, as usual 😊 I bought a used Fiat 118 NE in 92, much against the advice of my friends to buy a Maruti 800 instead. But I liked NE - big and spacious with a 4 cylinder engine. The challenge I faced was with rusting. Patch up one side, a new patch will appear within a few weeks. I met a Premier Auto Engineer much later in a flight. He told me that Fiat cars were "designed" for rusting, particularly if you bought it post monsoon. Because the metal sheets used for making body panels were always stored in open yards in their Mumbai factory 😀
My current 8th gen civic Misty violet V mt is an example(i thought about it as i saw vivekji's fd civic🙂). I bought it instead of a bike as my family was against bikes which i could understand. But buying petrol for my daily commute for a single person is insanely expensive. Even though my civic gives me around 10kmpl. But i still love it no matter what. Very comfortable, reasonable power, safe, reliable and kinda cool. 😍
The decision that I regret always is to buy a Wagon R over Santro in 2007. Swift was out of budget, and due to the overall family opinion on Maruti, went with Wagon R over Santro. I can't say it is the worst decision, as I still have wagonR, and it is a city friendly car, but in terms of interior quality, steering feel and gear shift quality, Santro was far better than wagon R. I still feel a pain in my heart, when I see a well maintained Santro (Though I see less number of original Santro now a days on road, compared to WagonRs of similar vintage)
Wagaon R gear shifting is very tough. Still i remember way back in 2009,gear falls in neutral from 3rd while driving and car become slow. Without understanding this we give full acceleration and lot of noise, honking of others etc.
We had a Nano which was bought right after its launch. Due to the overwhelming response, the booking was made on a lottery basis, where people would be informed if they have been alloted a car during that year. And we were also allotted a Lunar Silver Nano LX variant and got the delivery after a year. While leaving the showroom after the delivery, even the S Class owner who passed by was curious about the car and the interesting fact was that only 3 cars were delivered in the Ernakulam district and our car was one of them. We used it mainly for city commute and loved it for what if offered. But the only issue was the lack of power steering, which made city driving a hassle. It became so tiring that dad had to undergo treatment for shoulder pain due to the excessive effort used to turn the steering wheel and we had to sell it off after one year due to this reason.
We also got a lunar silver lx. We were also given one on of the first ones, (not sure the first first ones).. We stil have it, but I hated it bcoz of sound, and stigma of 1lak 'auto' car.
I sold my NS200 because of two fatal back to back crashes on it. I thought I will make do with a scooter for a while and went to get a new Activa. That is when Honda had just launched the Hornet 160 R. I fell for the red color one and got it. It took me just 4 months and 6k odo to realise that the bike was crap - no power, no refinement! Sold it!
@@a1221feb I got the NS in 2014 and sold it by 2015 end. Close to 2 years. The bike was awesome but didn't feel like keeping it after those accidents. There weren't many options in 200-250 cc bikes back then. I own a 390 Duke from last 3.5 years. Not planning to sell it anytime soon 😁
Fiat Linea 1.3 Diesel. I used it for 5 years. 85k+ kms. Plagued with reliability issues. Alloy wheels broke, clutch cylinder failed, AC filament failed, oil sump seal leaked, power steering failed, one wheel came off during a highway trip. Horrible service experience... Car seats were stained with grease and ac vent was broken after a service. I consider myself quite patient and considerate when dealing with car service centres. But Concorde and Hyson were absolutely rock bottom. Sold the car in 2014.
Same experience..... using fiat Linea from 2010 to 2015 using 76000 kms with same problem... after that I bought maruti ciaz zxi + using till now traveling 90000 kms without any problemmmm
I made my dad buy a Daewoo nexia in 2011 and that too which had an LPG kit installed. Rest is history 😂😂😂 Converter failed after 7 days, towed it to coimbatore to fix it and sold it the very next week.

Years back I send the same concept to one of the manufacturer(don't remember the company ).. Providing Test drive vehicle for an entire day...to experience one's daily commute in a test drive vehicle..
My brother done a funny mistake 3-4 years ago. He went to Honda showroom to test drive Jazz but , when he saw all new WRV and its interior space, he changed his mind and went to test drive WRV "diesel". He loved the car after the drive. But before booking he thought why waste extra money on diesel since yearly he would drive only less than 10000km and booked "petrol". The engine is a major disaster while overtaking, It have to rev high to churn out the power of that small engine...😅
Same story happened to my family, visited Honda dealership to book the new Amaze petrol but was disappointed with the build quality and interior space. Saw the WRV in a corner and just checked it out and was impressed with the space and ofcourse the USP of WRV - Sunroof. Test drive vehicle was diesel but as our monthly runnings were low, booked petrol VX model. The mileage is around 11-13 kmpl in normal driving conditions although ARAI rating is at 17.5 kmpl
@@mihrajsubair7831 same mileage when driven by my brother but occasionally when his professional driver friends driven the car gives 17-18mileage. The center console audio system is disaster. The AC settings were giving too much confusion and glass fog problems. Although still driving it due to comfort of rear seats.

We had a 2000 Toyota Avalon as our family car in Muscat and in 2012 we switched to company provided car after selling the Toyota Avalon to the company. The company gave us a Nissan Altima T1 spec or base model. 2.4ltr 4cyl Petrol with CVT. The engine and gearbox were good and the vehicle had exceptional mileage given the gulf standards. But it was after a year that we started getting problems with TPMS, rear lights and headlights. They would randomly turn off and we once replaced all lights and they went off again after 11 months and we gave it to the service centre as it was under warranty. Unfortunately, a flash flood, caused the service centre to get flooded and the vehicle was written off. Then we moved to a Lexus GS in 2015.
I upgraded my bike from platina to Cb350, I don't really regret the decision except when I am at fuel station 😅, CB350 is a whole new level in terms of comfort and engine refinement, I just love it so much, it's been around 3k kms dont know what to expect....
The ford ikon story reminded me about the car we had when i was a kid. We had a 89 model omni, the first car my dad has bought. As Vivekji mentioned my dad still used to say how it helped him to learn about that machine. We have travelled many long distance travels and it will only breakdown when its near to house, lol. Anyways, your contents are binge worthy!!! and congrats on 100k!
Reminds me a funny decision that I have made a few years ago, I bought an audi a4 just out of curiosity (worst part is sold my Rav4 which was super reliable and cheap to run for an urealiable piece of junk) and the car had tons of mechanical issues with classic oil consumption and it got worse and finally the engine blew up and the mechanical insurance didn't cover the cost so I had to write the car off. 😳 The fact is my mother and wife always make fun of me by saying this incident, even my boss at work says "how about an Audi"?😃 Now you guys bring back those memories ,😄😄
Mine is colour. Ride:Swift Zxi -Reborn I wanted a colour, which is easier to maintain (Decided b/w Silky Silver and Glistening Grey) Finally went with Grey , as silver was more common. Mistake1- Started seeing plenty of grey swifts Mistake2- Some shades fade , especially with Maruti Suzuki's paint quality , even though the ride is pampered with Polishing. Lesson learnt is , a ride looks best in the colour featured in the advertisement.
My father bought a second hand Diesel Indica over an Omni, initial impressions were good, but for the long run it had tyre alignment issues and we had to spend alot on tyre it self. It's was a good car. I learned to drive in that.
Omni was my dads first car, it was so uncomfortable to travel long distance. Still remember the vibration dashboard makes on higher rev and the heating of engine reaching the cabin 🤒😅

I was having something similar experience with my 2004 opel corsa 1.4. Car was good and the ride was really nice and comfy. My family loved to travel in it. The only person regret inside the car was me. 8 kml inside city. But that car thought me many things like how to drive efficiently. I used to watch lots of videos on how to drive efficiently. Any ways I sold it to scrap yard. Now I bought a suzuki Ignis. Very happy now. But my mom still says , the ride can't match with the old corsa.
In 2012, we planned for moving from Toyota Corolla to a luxury segment with a plan to own a BMW 3 series and finally ended up buying a BMW 5 series (525d) which is a great performance car. Sadly, its tyres are bursting every 5-6 months and in 2 years time, we were in the middle of highways for about 5 to 6 times. From a highly reliable corolla to a luxury sedan, we highly regretted our choice to buy it. Ground clearance for sedans are generally low and it is so hard to cover even a speed breaker in our roads without hitting our car. It was such a pain as ground clearance was so low for our Kerala roads those time (I would say our roads are far better now with rubberised tarring). BMW 5 series was definitely not a bad car. Unfortunately we cannot experience it to the fullest because of our low knowledge in run flat tyres of BMW. Tyre problem could be easily resolved. But we didn’t know that. We own an SUV Audi Q5 in 2014 keeping in mind about ground clearance and its a great car. I love it ❤️

I choose a zen ,but it was a diesel ,not a bad car with good fuel efficiency ,sadly the insurance rate for this small car ,some times (every year) makes me regret about my purchase.. still using this car ,hope an ev swap could save me 😅
Chevy Cruze, only problem no service center in Kochi and costly to maintain. But still in my garage from 2012, given smile in my face when ever I drove. Done stage 1 + tuning in Code 6.
Hilarious! Reminded of a decision made in 2012 when we bought a Hyundai Verna Diesel after a Maruti Esteem. Got attracted by the looks of it, features and mainly it's acceleration. After we bought it we realised that the soft suspension setup was nowhere as comfortable as our esteem (independent suspension). Suspension used to bottom out every now and then under full load. Over the years it bothered us so much, we had called many shops to check for a stiffer aftermarket rear suspension which was never available for Verna. Also the headlights were poorly made, it didn't focus properly and casted some weird shadows. They made a far better Verna in 2017, we took a testdrive. Impressed, all the above problems solved and we upgraded to an automatic diesel in 2018 and after we got it home we realised that the older one had better NVH levels and it also had a cd player! Car manufacturers should give cars for longer test drives.
All manufacturers give longer test drives atleast for 25 kms. If they feel you are serious they will be ready to give it for half a day or so . But the issue is all variants / engine options will not be available . Mostly it will be a manual transmission , for eg getting a test drive of creta 1.4 turbo is impossible .
@@arjunjmenon is half day enough to kill your excitement about this brand new car in the market you're driving for the first time? I think common man can see the less obvious flaws only after that initial excitement is dead. Like it's said here, a longer paid test drive should be an option for customers.
@@emilashok they are definitely not going to do car rental business ( which is a what a paid testdrive is ) . It will be a bad publicity that you need to pay to test drive even if shorter free testdrive is available . Yes , i believe 2 hrs is sufficiently more than enough to reach a judgment . Those who take test drives are not toddlers with uncontrollable excitement .
Manufacturers/dealers can never start a rental car business. But they can have a tie up with a car rental agency(again mentioned in the video). It's a long shot, no doubt. "2 hours is enough" is clearly not a popular opinion when reading other comments here. Maybe people who think they are really confident and meticulous unlike others here can say it. I personally believe it is not possible to point out all shortcomings of a car after a two hour test drive. Judgements we make within 2hrs for something that's kept for 6-8 years can easily go wrong.
Honda CBF Stunner. I don't know whether I regret the decision. The engine vibrates a lot. The quality of plastics and paint quality are not that great. But I still keep the bike. Completing 13 years this June.
Agree with your opinion. Was using Hyundai Grand I10 for 5 years, sold it and Bought Tata Nexon Amt (petrol)last year. Completed 11k km in 11 months Really regret the decision now. I really feel the drive quality and suspension of Tata Nexon is no match or comparable to Hyundai.
U dint test drive? If u have been using hyundai u won't get that silent engine nd smooth ride in a tata but u get more built quality. U went down from 4 cylinder engine to a 3 cylinder
I have driven Nexon diesel and grand i10 also..I liked the ride quality in Nexon more than grand i10..Hyundai engines are definitely more smooth and silent..probably the amt is ruining the drive experience...
Lucky enough, i haven't made a wrong choice of car till now but regretted for buying a brand new RE Classic 500 and sold it right after 1st year. Electronic rev limiter, riding position, brakes, body vibrations and the insurance premium was way higher as its 500cc. Replaced it with a Bajaj Dominar 400 and was blessed 😇

This story happened in the early 90's(1994). We were planning on an upgradation on to a new car. My dad being an avid Ford fan zeroed on to the Ford Taurus. But budget constraints led us to buy the Ford Tempo which is a smaller car. The other choice we had was the Toyota Cressida. Me being the inquisitive school boy declared we are not buying the Cressida as it was the most common taxi car in the middle East and hence bought the Ford Tempo. The car was brilliant to drive but was very costly to maintain. No regrets at all but just a mention. Ford was expensive to service there along with the low resale value but the car drove well. I still remember vividly my dad complimenting the car and how well it drove. Sadly had to sell it off to it's increasing maintenance cost. We had it about 4 years before we sold it to acquire an another car. This time a Chevrolet Lumina. This fared better than the Ford but had lower mileage. That didn't matter in the Gulf so it was our longtimer. Your video took me down the memory lane. Thank you.

My father bought base model diesel ritz in 2012, later we realise the importance of rear seat headrest and many others. After 5 years we sold it and decided next our cars will be full option, then we bought baleno petrol alpha in 2019. It's LED projector lights are shows way clearly. It's pay worth in all sense.
@@kj_george 2011 model. Secnd owner. 85kms . Sold for 1.85 . still miss the car. Even though with all the complaints and parts failure, it was so much fun to drive
21:30 This I am currently experiencing. My family bought a Tata Nexon in 2021 and we have done test drive of the car since 2019 and have spent so much time researching & considering the vehicles. But only after we bought that we realised that it has pathetic lighting (Low beam). I'm not saying that this is a deal breaker but it would've been better to be aware of this before purchasing
I have also made a same mistake in 2012. I purchased a brand new Tata venture. problem with the same is high fuel consumption and clutch problem and the vehicle is hesitate to go over 90 KMPH. last 6 years I am using first gen Octavia ( 1.9 tdi, 2005 model). I am really happy with my octavia in terms of driving comfort, handling, boot space, turning radius and also the mileage.
It is a very sensible idea - extended test drive program. But most of us buy cars out of desires first and then practicality. If we use a car for a week, we will lose the desire and the company will lose a sale. They are not selling a commodity - they are selling us our desire.
My father bought Toyota Innova 2.0 G2 (Petrol) in 2005. I was in 5th std, 10 year old kid. It was an upgrade from Toyota Qualis GS. I was in love with that Qualis on those days. Anyway I didn't like the Innova on those days. But, when the car arrived at the home, I still remember that night. Was around 7pm. It was raining outside too. I entered the Car. New plastic covered seats. Full of creamy colours all around. The most catchy part was its head unit itself. It was having the original Toyota provided head unit which was having both CD-ROM drive and Cassette. I was amazed because, my old Qualis didn't have that CD option. I enjoyed listening to music. Because of that reason I liked Innova. More over that, that particular vehicle is having lot more than from Qualis and even a Diesel Innova. I turned 18 years. From the span of time, I heard about Touch screen head unit, Roof mounted screen and more over I knew that, my Innova is not having roof AC or Split AC. Huge loss it is. Another thing is, the colour of my Innova. "MICA GREEN", now I hate it very much. Now I'm 26 years old. Updated my Head unit with Imported Android Head Unit (Not a big deal now). But, I set it on my Innova on 2017, Coupler to coupler fitment. Set OEM split AC. Had difficulty in getting a Dual powered AC compressor for that. So, I imported it from Dubai scrap. Set the Split AC. Changed the Rear Bumber and set LED Tail light units. The main thing is 132BHP powered VVTi Engine is still in my home and I'm using it. 10kmpl is a lil bitter thing. But, enjoying the ride with all family members and friends. Everyone like it and it is now a Gem for me. I'm not converting it to type four variant. But, I madly want to change its colour. If anyone says, "What kind of colour is this dude??!" I'll reply like, "pop the hood!"
I was the car consultant for all my friends. After many successful references i referred beat diesel for my friend's dad. Which turned out to be a huge mistake. Bought for 5.45lacs sold after 2 years for 1.75. Black smoke, turbo issues, Chevy closing shop. Forced to sell. But they again consulted me for next buy. I suggested tata tiago amt. Uncle is happy now with it. He is 70+ , regular user.
When we were upgrading our Alto 2003 in 2013, my Dad said he wanted something different than Maruti and so there was Amaze and Sail. My dad liked how the Sail looked and went for it after a test drive even though I was against it. I didn't have driving licence back then and so i couldn't do the test drive. Later when we got the car we realised that the car had very poor low end torque especially with AC on. My father did the test drive in a diesel version which was torquey. 😅 From the first day itself we used to regret the purchase as it was really dangerous to overtake in that car. It took an eternity to build power. But then i had the hope of selling off this car and getting something else after few years. Lo and behold, Chevrolet left India. 😅 Prices plummeted for used cars and only remaining option was to live with it. And throughout the ownership of the car there was this issue of the car not starting at times. The car had to be towed to the service center in 3 occasions and they couldn't troubleshoot it for 3 years and finally found out that it was a damn 150 Rs relay. Also to add to this, we had bought a Ignis and a Duke 390 in our home later. Both had some issues which were fixed in later batches. (Steering return problem and ugly rear in ignis and coolant leak in Duke). This also taught us a very important lesson to not to go for any vehicle lesser than 2 years old. They are going to upgrade the vehicle after the first batch by resolving all known issues. Don't go and be the scape goat. I can see this happening currently with the XUV 700 and the new Thar.
A buying mistake in my family was Nissan Sunny. Reason: I basically could not tolerate the diesel after having used only Petrols. Gearbox was also not helping in anyway either. Plus the interiors plastic quality was so bad even my 18 year old Esteem still holds up better. Now we don’t even drive it.
But it was really value for money when it was launched . The base model petrol had the same price of swift vdi and middle option was only 50,000 more . This was in 2012 . Parents didn't like the nissan sunny so bought the swift vdi . Way more comfortable than swift vdi .
Bought a used i10 kappa2 for my chennai city use seeing it's compact size. I never liked it's steering feedback . Was a bit nervous to take it to high-speed. It had a loud thud sound when travelling over potholes . Changed tyre to 175 from 155, Visited kun Hyundai multiple times for inspection and sa said it is the charector of the car and I have to live with it. Fuel economy was poor too. Sold it to a friend after 5 months of usage.
Family bought Chevrolet sail u-va. Actually bought 2 of them together one for our family and one for dad's brothers family. Still have them as selling is worthless and rather use it to the maximum
I had a Fiat Punto, Had it for almost 3 years. Not a bad car by any stretch of imagination, But servicing it was a nightmare. Parts were hard to get by, I had to wait for weeks to get the parts. The Tata dealership which took over the fiat had a step motherly treatment towards the Fiat. they would try to sell me a tata product everytime I went and visited them. Fiat Punto was a lovely car whose experience of ownership was ruined and made hard by the Dealership network and bad service. I had to sell it for a loss, but was glad to get rid of it and go for a Maruthi

My experience was more or less same with JD's.
About 10 years back i bought Maruti Suzuki Ecco 5 seater and converted into 7 seater by adding 2 captain seats at the second raw and bench seat in third raw from wagon R.( By thinking it's the cheap and best 7 seater with in the budget of below 4 Lakh )
Apart from that I spend around ₹25000/- extra on music system, central locking and other accessories on it.
After doing all these things I sold it within 10 months of purchase due to non practicality as a family car.
Today I went back to that old memories after watching your episode.
Good content 👍
Why did you sell it though? Performance reasons for the card?

Sometimes, the cars we buy will be good products but not relavent to our age. Buying a tall boy (more suited to carry elderly) when we are bachelors, then buying a polo when we are a family of 5, a newly wed couple buying a 7-seater (mostly carrying the husband and wife only)... Such untimed decisions also cause life long regrets. We will not be able to enjoy a good car when we own them.

My dad bought Tata Indica Vista. That was our first “brand new car”. My god, we’d a terrible time with that.
Very nice, as usual 😊
I bought a used Fiat 118 NE in 92, much against the advice of my friends to buy a Maruti 800 instead.
Sold it!
Yes. Hornet 160 is very un-Honda like. Average refinement, clunky gear shifts, no initial or midrange power.
Go CB350! Such a refinement on road
So unfortunate to hear about NS crashes.. But I felt it was the best among the 200cc and even the FZ25. (Ignoring the KTM).Honda was dull

WRV petrol defined sluggishness in its class

Same here at 9k kms. Hope you're there in CB350 owners fb group

Ride:Swift Zxi -Reborn
I wanted a colour, which is easier to maintain (Decided b/w Silky Silver and Glistening Grey)
Finally went with Grey , as silver was more common.
Mistake1- Started seeing plenty of grey swifts
Mistake2- Some shades fade , especially with Maruti Suzuki's paint quality , even though the ride is pampered with Polishing.

That is the worst engine probably..2 cylinder 800 cc diesel is crazy..
Same here except that we have a Chevrolet Sail which is i guess somewhat based on aveo/ Corsa and we still have it and got an Ignis too. 😌

Was using Hyundai Grand I10 for 5 years, sold it and Bought Tata Nexon Amt (petrol)last year. Completed 11k km in 11 months

U dint test drive? If u have been using hyundai u won't get that silent engine nd smooth ride in a tata but u get more built quality. U went down from 4 cylinder engine to a 3 cylinder
Amt is terrible.
@@sandeepnair4913 hyundai built qualities are unknown as they are not tested ( venue / creta ). So its inappropriate to compare .

Thank you.

Man I can feel your pain 🥺 I'm also a Innova owner 🥲

I feel bad for laughing at this episode😅😂(considering the topic)
From the first day itself we used to regret the purchase as it was really dangerous to overtake in that car.
