My god, the cinematography is soooo amazing! The camera angles, the speech patters, how the characters aren't idle in one place when they speak, but they move around naturally. It's just so well done! This also heavily gives me that nostalgic feeling of watching those old asian shows back in the day. I remember watching the Vietnamese dub of the 1980s version of Journey to the West when I was like 7. Now that this game is developed, the amount of nostalgia just hits right up the alley. Also, for those that are still skeptical about the quality shown in this cutscene… sure, it looks janky at times from the technical point of view, but I think it still managed to perfectly capture the aesthetic, the manners, and the acting style of those old Chinese fantasy series.
Not just CP 2077 you gotta remember this is coming from a Chinese developer. Don't be surprised if they charge you and arm and a leg and fill the game with super predatory microtransactions.

Oh man, I think why I’m so hyped for Black Myth especially, is the tone like this! It’s like the Sun Wukong movie I’ve been waiting for, for a long time. I grew up with so many different kind of adaptations of the story in movies and shows, and besides the classics, the most recent ones are really tacky or just basic. Seeing this cutscene makes me feel so confident I’d love the direction of this game!

I did notice something odd with the English translation. Between the last spider ladies before their mom appears, the English translation constantly doesn’t translate that one of the ladies was calling the other one ‘elder sister’. When the mom appears, I noticed that the old lady calling the person who arrived ‘brother’ is omitted. This was prolly cos they knew non-Chinese would think that it’s literally her ‘brother’ but it’s really used here as term of affection. It’s something couples in Chinese romance dramas often do. Similar to Korean dramas where the girl keeps referring to the guy she likes as ‘oppa’ or senior. Tho I expected 老大哥 instead of 哥哥 as the former is usually what courtesans say when trying to lure in guys.
The elder sister thing is probably because viewers can assume it. They all mentioned they're daughters [so they're all sisters] and one sister was calmer, more serious than the rest, usually portrayed to be the elder sibling.

UE5 is god send, the way the hand touches the face of one of the lady is so smooth and accurate same goes with the spider moving on the hand. Last gen game had serious trouble processsing those in which they protrude or pierce though the surface.

uhhhhh. I believe it is different in this situation. I believe that sun wu kong had disguised himself as the unknown spouse because he did trickery like that a lot in the original stories. And at the end, the transform mother spider is moving around as if shes in agony. I think its cs she ate disguised sunwukong, who is now torturing her from inside her stomach. He did that multiple times to his opponents in Journey to the West

There was zero action in this video and I was captivated throughout. Fantastic music as well. Wasn't expecting to see any human characters in this game but it certainly makes the world a lot more interesting for me now. The visuals and animation are top-notch when compared to other mainstream titles. I seriously want this game to do so well that it ends up putting the entirety of the western gaming industry to shame, given all the problems they have. So far, this along with a few other high-calibre non-western games are on the top of my want list. For years I've been longing for some good ol' story-driven AAA games that aren't trying to push some weird agenda and instead just use that energy to create profound stories, groundbreaking visuals and innovative gameplay. Let's hope they shake things up in this medium and are able to ship this game in one piece without localisers with some twisted agenda trying to ruin this work of art.

Some background on why this video about a wedding ceremony is uploaded now. This is made according to the Chinese version of Valentine's Day Qi Xi 七夕, which is celebrated July 7th on the lunar calendar. This festival is based around the legend of The Cowherd and The Weaver Girl. This couple would meet once a year on the 7th day of the 7th month in the night sky. The couple is represented by the stars of Vega and Altair, while a third star Deneb forms the bridge they stand on. They're separated by the milky way for the rest of the year. For this year the date was August 4th. Women would traditionally wear the qi pao, the Chinese dress, among other traditions. A lot of Asian cultures also have a version of this festival. In Korea it's called Chilseok festival. In Japan it's called Tanabata, which is a festival that shows up in mostly romance or romcom anime. If you've seen Tonikawa: Over the Moon for You, the whole story revolves around this legend.
This is truly next gen in so many ways. Please bring it optimised for PC and PS5🙏 take your time but this game should come in a perfect playable state to enjoy the art.
Finally a game that prioritizes cutscenes that build connections and character personality. Most other games keep it under a minute tops and it's like one or two straight forward sentences that give you the gist of everything and that's that.

This game looks so so soooooo good. Definitely my most anticipated upcoming game. Everything, from the visuals, to the setting, to the gameplay; it all just looks so good! The only thing I’m holding my breath about is the performance. I mean, the game looks great but performance might be hard to manage. But, from the gameplay we’ve seen there were no stutters and it’s running on ue5 so that can only help with the performance. Overall lookin amazing

The last line of dialogue is more like "Run!" instead of "Get out!". It seems like the spider is trying to tell that guy to run away from something, according to her voice and the Chinese line.

I guessed it a long time ago. The Chinese subtitles used "腌臜" (dirty, unclean, messy) to describe his appearance, so it can only be Zhu Bajie.
These lanterns are absolutely high tech. She even didn’t need to say “Alexa” before “shut up”.

This festival is based around the legend of The Cowherd and The Weaver Girl. This couple would meet once a year on the 7th day of the 7th month in the night sky. The couple is represented by the stars of Vega and Altair, while a third star Deneb forms the bridge they stand on. They're separated by the milky way for the rest of the year. For this year the date was August 4th. Women would traditionally wear the qi pao, the Chinese dress, among other traditions.
A lot of Asian cultures also have a version of this festival. In Korea it's called Chilseok festival. In Japan it's called Tanabata, which is a festival that shows up in mostly romance or romcom anime. If you've seen Tonikawa: Over the Moon for You, the whole story revolves around this legend.

This is truly next gen in so many ways. Please bring it optimised for PC and PS5🙏 take your time but this game should come in a perfect playable state to enjoy the art.

Finally a game that prioritizes cutscenes that build connections and character personality. Most other games keep it under a minute tops and it's like one or two straight forward sentences that give you the gist of everything and that's that.

There's plenty of games that have a lot of cutscenes like most JRPGs for example.
This game looks so so soooooo good. Definitely my most anticipated upcoming game. Everything, from the visuals, to the setting, to the gameplay; it all just looks so good! The only thing I’m holding my breath about is the performance. I mean, the game looks great but performance might be hard to manage. But, from the gameplay we’ve seen there were no stutters and it’s running on ue5 so that can only help with the performance. Overall lookin amazing

Really interesting at the end it was implied that line was spoken by the violet spider guai when in reality it was spoken by the fourth sister in a completely different situation
The last line of dialogue is more like "Run!" instead of "Get out!". It seems like the spider is trying to tell that guy to run away from something, according to her voice and the Chinese line.
