now i see why people are fighting to end the death penalty. They have different DNA on the girl and the jury STILL found him guilty. Ridiculous.

They didn't have DNA analysis during 1996 to even get close. They only had him saying he did it with his friend.

@@pamelamorris3148 They had good DNA evidence. But it didn’t match Tapp, so they pressured him to falsely admit to being an accomplice. Terrible police work. And REALLY bad counsel. I also wouldn’t be surprised if there was racial bias (including unintentional bias) at play.

Police/prosecutors essentially do, and present, what should be illegal "interrogations" all too often. They manipulate, torture, and obfuscate ... and then just show the video CLIPS of what fits their theory. The whole process needs to be shown - not just snippets.

I understand the moms anger and frustration but Im sorry, the evidence just wasnt enough to say "give him death". I know the grief and pain were raw and fresh, but surely she could see that those guys were railroaded because of lazy cops just wanting to close a case.

High profile cases always put pressure on prosecutors to convict someone...anyone! Despicable and family members like her mom always pervert the course of justice. Thank God she didn't settle for what shitty interrogator did to Chris Tapp although her insistence is what put him in prison in the first place.

@Glow Bright I am so sorry that this happened to your little son. I really believe that you will see him one day in the future in heaven and you will be together again with him and your loved ones. That is the only thing we have, but a very good and very strong thing. Until then you have to live your life, that is very, very important! Your son wants that for you too. Don't take it ever away.
Your love will bind you together, forever. Nothing can take that away from you both.
I wish you a lot love and strength. Be blessed ❤️🌹💖💐💝🌷💞

The police did this to this poor mother and to Chris and his family.. He didn't know details, DNA didn't match yet, HE'S GUILTY after 60 hrs of continuous questioning.. Unbelievable! This is why cops get sued so often and us taxpayers have to keep footing the bill for their negligence..

People don’t realize how easily it is to lose your grasp on reality under the power of suggestion, stress, anxiety, physical discomfort, fear, and exhaustion. Chris is far from the only person who has been wrongly convicted because he confessed to a crime under those circumstances, and it’s disgusting. Cops don’t care if the guilty person goes to prison. They only care that someone does so they can get credit for it while giving us the illusion that we’re safe and the victim. Got justice. This is one of the many reasons that the death penalty should not exist. If he had gotten the death penalty they would have legally murdered on innocent man. It’s morally wrong and incredibly hypocritical. Murder is illegal so to punish you we’re going to do the thing that we’ve decided is illegal. It’s crazy making…

It's all psychological pressure and tactics of the investigation department. Chris was only 20 when the adults pressured him to accept the charges and that if he did, they will handle it for him. They messed up with his brain and also robbed his trust.

Come on. What attention? It's the agony of a mother who knows her daughter's killer is walking free. Can you imagine the grief of a parent whose child is murdered violently??? They'd all do what she did if only they were as strong and perseverant as her. But most just break and give up. Don't be so insensitive, man. She has every right to be 'extra' in the way she was.
