- Thanks for watching my Life Outdoors channel. If you like fishing, all my fishing related videos have moved to my new channel, "Go Midwest Fishing." Also visit gomidwestfishing.com for in depth articles on fishing and to see more videos.
When researching which ice house to buy, I noticed there wasn't many detailed videos showing the features of each kind, so after getting a great year end deal at Cabelas, I made my own video. I apologize if my head is out of the frame, I had to run the cameras myself, so it was hard to tell where to stand. I hope this video helps you out.

Great Video, I am following your teaching process as I put together my Otter Lodge. I am in my garage watching your video as I assemble. Thanks for doing this!
Man what a great video! Very thorough and well explained!! Thank you!!
Good video 📹 I'm picking mine up Saturday my first new ice shack
This was very helpful thank you. Im not a novice when it comes to putting things together, but the manual was terrible. Hopefully otter shows you some love. You definantly earned it.
Thanks. You are not the only one to complain about the manual.
very well done, appreciate you taking the time to do this detailed video. Im getting my first one and have never seen them assembled. Cheers and tight lines. Oh ya Otter rocks!!!
My son and I just finished building our new XT Pro Cabin. Thanks for uploading. It helped us out some. Cheers!
I love mine. I'm fishing in it right now. You're going to love it.
Very helpful video. Thanks so much for your help!
Great instructional vid...but doesn't need the music. Everyone seems to think they need to add it, but the music is more annoying than anything. Thanks!
I just used this video to help me assemble an XT Cottage. Thank goodness for you Sir!!!! This video was a life saver, I hope Otter see's this and sends you a new side door flip over for free. 17K + views I would bet 1/2 of them are new buyers just like me using this vid to assemble their shacks because the paper instructions are poor. #OTTER
Glad to hear. That's the whole reason I made it. I was in Cabelas the other day and noticed the new side door shacks. What a great idea. Why did it take so long to add a door? Thanks for watching!
Thank you, great video.
Very step by step.
Just assembled mine.
Manual book, was quite vague.
Nice vid. I load mine by putting front end into box first. Then get in box and pull it up. This works even better with the hitch pivot. Almost like built in handles.
Thanks for the advice. I'm going to use it for the first time over Christmas break. I'll try your method.
nice vid....I will admit I did LOL when you were loading that up in the back of your truck cause when there is snow on the ground that sled slides even more. The good thing is that here in north central MN the small lakes have a good cap of ice on them so the new season is just around the corner.
Awesome video. Thanks for sharing.
Your welcome. I moved all my fishing and camping videos my new channel. If you are interested its at ua-cam.com/users/gomidwestfishing
Great video...Otter are the best shanty on the market!!
I've gotten a lot of use out of it this year, and I love it! It fits 2 people perfectly, and can even get 3 people in there if needed.
The holes are for rope and/or hitch. Otter makes a hitch that comes with the hardware/pins designed for those holes, makes it easy to pull behind a sled and/or atv/utv.
Good vid, put mine together last weekend, mine seems to be tighter around frame so hoping it loosens up a bit.
I'm on my second year of use and couldn't be happier. This thing really holds in the heat. It's a cozy 70 degrees in there with the heater on low, even at -25! You're going to love it.
Assembly for your lodge same as my cabin, thank God for your video really helped alot. Question should i leave the front door open when folding down? Thank you again for a great detailed video.
helpful video. Thanks!
Happy to help!
I installed a 2000lb winch on the front of the box floor to help load if I’m by myself. I have the frabill predator and that thing is heavy with the mods I did to it. Nice tent you have
I love my otter! A winch would be handy. I ended up using those ramps that are loading an ATV. I get in the bed and pull it up the ramp. Works good.
Life Outdoors yea otter makes some sweet tent! I bought the Otter pro resort last month and I love it! It’s a mansion on the ice lol and warm too
Make sure you add some lubricant to the aluminum poles and zippers. They will bind up after some use. Great ice hut
Excellent video thank you for taking the time to do so!
Have you dragged this on foot at all? Are you still glad you went with the big one?
You have to remember it wasnt loaded yet with your gear.very nice video. New sub
Thanks for the comment. It is much heavier loaded down. I found a new way to load it myself that works great! I will be posting that video soon.
I bought the pro model at gander for $711 plus a runner kit.Cant wait to get it and put it together.Your video was very helpfull.Mine comes with the seats not the bench.Again thanks for the video
I'm trying to put a 2019 xt pro resort together kinda frustrating by yourself it's so huge I think otter should make better instructions for poles
I have to admit, it was a lot more work than I expected. I thought it would have been at least partially put together. I do agree about the poles. Its not real clear on how to put them together.
Your video was exactly what I needed. I have the same shanty and was not sure how to put on the edge trim. You demonstrated the entire process quite well.
And I agree with the unexpected time it took to put everything together. Good news is that I get to take it out on her maiden voyage this weekend.
Thanks again. Tight lines.
I'm so glad it helped. Good luck!
The pro doesn't come with the center console
Just got a Eskimo 450i. Took ten minutes to put together.....Just sayin.
mrwilly41 and ur shit is gonna crumble after one season
F the bench too heavy and way too much space
