- US State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller on Monday kept repeating his rehearsed line that the UN Security Council resolution on Gaza ceasefire resolution as not on binding on Israel. However, when one reporter sought to seek the reason for this being a non-binding resolution, Miller had not option but to advise the journalist to contact the US ambassador instead.
Of course he is shameless.

2- they are killers of prophets and messengers from God. Who were sent from them to continue what the other prophet has left and to also be a mercy from God to them.. but they also never did.. again Except very very few pple..
3- we can clearly see how they were in the past, dealing with prophets and torturing them, by what we see in the present, by killing innocent kids and women.. civilians. Israel if has the chance to wipe out the entire human race would do so.. all they care about is money (material) and control and power..
4- Israel has been cursed like I said by their prophets (our prophets) and by god to forever wonder earth without home. And be scattered in earth and that is because they never believed in God's words through his prophets and they were a killers of prophets and messengers from God.

He can say its "Non binding" the FACT is the UN Charter clearly states any Resolution passed by the UN Security Council are binding resolutions to those nations who are signees to the Security Council itself. Its ABSOLUTELY IS Binding. The UN Charter states so. The US is saying its "Non Binding" because they want Israel to show they aren't abandoning Israel. But the Resolution IS binding. The US interpretation is irrelevant.

The resolution says ceasefire and then hostage deal. Not a subjective clause.

@@Teringael Yet to see whether hostages or those holding them have survived blockade on food and basic aid. Hostages have already died during previous months as a result of airstrikes taking out their captors. Such actions suggest hostages are not high priority.

No the UN has no enforcement mechanism, and thats what makes the UN irrelevant. Its member states can choose to sanction Israel into oblivion tho. Whether they do or not is the question.

It is absolutely binding!! Why is the US doing this. They did the same thing saying the ICJ voted with Israel because it didn’t call for a ceasefire. Please people. Don’t believe talking points. This is binding. The next thing that will or should follow is sanctions. But I guess if you spread the lie that it’s unbinding none binding you can’t be held accountable if you don’t impose sanctions. This is so evil.

Israel is not expected to abide by the resolution's call for an immediate ceasefire and Hamas is not expected to follow the demand for an immediate and unconditional release of the 134 hostages, though only the former is a party to the UN charter and failure to abide by its resolutions could lead to calls for sanctions. The US allowed it to pass because it basically means nothing. If it included any type of enforcement mechanism, they would have vetoed it in a second. America would never allow a foreign military or peacekeeping force on Israeli soil. Israel hasn’t followed any of the UNSC resolutions since the 1948 one, because the U.S. will veto any sanctions on them. The Biden administration is now simply taking what it sees as the necessary public steps to make it look like they’re doing everything they can to hold Israel’s feet to the fire, when in reality, they’re facilitating and enabling Israel to no end. Israel has yet to face any concrete consequences from the US for its war crimes and genocide

Because Israel is not committing war crimes, and only a commie would say so. Hamas committed the crimes by attacking civilians, raping children, burning babies and taking hostages which they still have--while they continue to use Palestinians and the hostages as human shields.
The resolution says "all hostages" and not "all hostages held in Gaza" or "by Hamas".
I don't think it is random but a nod in the direction of all the Palestinian prisoners unduly held outside the rule of law, while trying to word it in the least direct way as not to give more cards to Israel to go ballistic and play the offended victim of injustices even more.

It's international law, it is as binding as international law can get. A specific resolution to the specific problem they addressed. It is binding and there are consequences for disobeying security Council rulings

US interpretation alone does not mean anything, it is the UNSC that decides what is binding, what is not.
If that's not the case, get rid on UNSC. There is no point of having it, because too often US uses it to their advantage only.

Matthew Miller is quite correct: a UNSC Resolution that "decides" that there would be a ceasefire then such a resolution would be binding (because Article 25 of the UN Charter states that members agree to carry out "decisions" of the Security Council).
But this resolution doesn't have the Council stating that it "decides" that there would be a ceasefire. Instead it "demands" a ceasefire.
Paradoxically, a "demand" is less powerful than a "decision", precisely because the word "demand" doesn't appear in the UN Charter, but "decision" does.

Yes, this resolution does call for a ceasefire. Theirs, on the other hand, called for complete support of the "ongoing negotiations" he mentioned, meaning the Security Council would have been _bound_ to accept whatever terms the U.S. would dictate for a ceasefire.I wish one of these journalists had asked him if their own resolution would have been binding.
