- During a news conference on Monday, the US State Department declared that the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine had been a "strategic failure" for the latter, causing many to speculate as to whether the statement was a mistake or just the reality. Matthew Miller, the spokesperson, made the error, and the reporters in the briefing room promptly called him out on it.
